The FL is definitely over-reaching when she got mad at him for choosing one university over the other. I totally get where she is coming from because I had the same issue with my 13 years old choosing a certain high school. I wanted him to go to one of the better high school but he wanted to apply for an Athletic program at a lesser high school. My husband thinks my son should be the one who decides where he wants to go and I shouldn't interfere but he's still a minor and as a mom I think we should be the one making the decisions. I definitely get what you're saying but it's similar to First Frost and OG. The one who has the trauma or who has a traumatic past were always the one running away because they think they were unworthy and doesn't deserve to be loved. And as much as I adore Ke Chun, the Korean adaptation is excellent. I liked it a lot.
I know what is copyright and I have seen other adaptations. You can be creative in the adaptation instead of making a carbon copy, but I'm glad you enjoyed it so much and think it's far superior.
