Of course, with such a big cast full of beloved actors, everyone was waiting eagerly. But the reality turned out to be a complete disaster and a shame in the career of every actor who agreed to be part of this. There’s nothing to say because there’s simply no story, no plot, no real events. Honestly, even if a child tried to make up a fantasy drama about superpowers, the result would have been better than this mess.
Makjang dramas are known for being over-the-top, but Stairway to Heaven really crossed the line. Compared to Winter Sonata, which I loved despite the exaggerations , this one often felt downright silly.
For example, the father had almost no role in his daughter’s life. Even after finding out that his wife was mistreating her and that her stepdaughter was trying to kill her, he did absolutely nothing. He was practically absent through all her suffering — the blindness, the surgeries, even her death.
Another frustrating part was the heroine herself. Her kindness was taken to such extremes that it became illogical. How could she, while dying, ask her stepmother (who covered up her daughter’s crimes) to take care of her father? Who in their right mind would trust a potential murderer with their parent? And to top it off, she forgave the very girl who caused her endless misery and tried to kill her multiple times. That’s just not believable.
I can understand the tragic, undying love between the leads, but the points I mentioned above made the story too irrational to fully enjoy and left me frustrated.
Right now, I’m actually in the mood to watch more makjang, but I’d prefer something closer in tone and quality to Winter Sonata rather than this kind of over-the-top storytelling. If you have recommendations for melodramas or makjangs that feel dramatic yet still make sense, I’d really appreciate it!
I honestly don’t know how I didn’t watch this drama earlier, but I’m so glad I finally did. From the very first episode I couldn’t stop — I rushed home from work just to continue watching, and on weekends I stayed up late bingeing it. I watched it straight through without pausing for any other drama, and it’s been such a long time since a series hooked me like this. The story, the suspense, the execution — everything was top notch. K-dramas from 2016, 2017, and 2018 really had some masterpieces, and Tunnel is definitely one of them. Absolutely amazing!
Honestly, I found this season way better than the first one. In Season 1, some things didn’t feel clearly explained (like the prosecutor’s murder, which had no real justification). But Season 2 was solid from the very first episode until the last — everything was connected in such a brilliant way. The story flows smoothly without plot holes or confusing gaps. The plot is much stronger and kept me fully engaged. And of course, the acting was outstanding as always — Cho Seung Woo and Bae Doona brought so much depth and made the drama even more powerful.
I loved & enjoyed it very much. it gives the vibes of hospital playlist, the chemistry between the characters are beautiful, a group of friends working in same industry (lawers) and the things they face in their work and personal life..it just doesn't' have so much action like hospital playlist..(of course surgeons are not like lawyers), but it's so sweet (not boring at all).we all have things to deal with work and our lives, it's nice if I would have friends like them to talk about work and life while having nice meals together and they're there for each other even if they took different roads in life... If you are fine with that, then you will enjoy this drama like I did
too draggy, repeating the same issue until the last episode. The group being national athletes didn't bring any…
I totally agree, also, a lot of violence , Yun Dong Ju is being beaten all the time , in normal life, he should be dead, I know it's drama, but that was nonsense , without broken nose, mouth, eye or loosing teeth..being beaten that way was toooo much..the only thing I liked is Park Bo Gum's smile, if he wasn't in this drama I would drop it long time ago.
Why Lee Dong Wook why!!!! your dramas used to be phenomenon : Goblin, Tale of the Nine-Tailed, A Shop for Killers, Bad and Crazy .. this year you have the most bored drama in 2025 (The Divorce Insurance) !!!, and now this!! (Nice Guy)..really??
ok, I like it, I enjoyed the adorable characters, but let's talk about the main holes in it: 1-Who is that girl (Gyeon U's friend ) how was caught in the fire in his old school? she hated him so much , so I though that he caused a fire because of his bad luck and she was badly injured, but it seems that she caused the fire and she wasn't injured. really??? what about all these hating calls?? 2-I waited until the end to reveal Yeom Hwa's baby story, but they didn't !! what is that ?? she lost a baby (we don't know why) and became evil because of that and hated General Dongcheon (we also don't know why) 3-They kept talking about he evil soul who killed 100 souls , but actually it was cute soul who cared about others and was willing to save (Seong A) by leaving the world finally and go to hell!! really? where is the evil part here?
I was very touched by the interactions between Mi Ji and her halmeoni (grandmother), especially in the last episode…
Yesss I loved that because it's very real..when you love someone very much and he's going to die, you can dream of him saying goodbye to you..I faced the same thing with my aunt, before her last night in life, I dreamt of her saying goodbye to me and refused to take me with her..the next day, she passed away because of cancer. that was very touching scene , the whole drama is very touching because it's very real not only a drama
Yes , I'm not sure about this part as well, maybe because he thought she saw his face (but actually she didn't ) also, the documents she took from her father , no one mentioned what happened ..but he didn't commit a crime, why now? why did he killed her , Hwang Si Mok was chasing them not her. I'm still confused.
I just finished this, but still don't know who killed "Yeong Eun Su" and why? also when "Seo Dong Jae" asked Eun Su father about the documents he lost, they didn't show us what happened or what they are or who took them..and if Eun Su was killed because of them, then how did the killer know about them? they were with Eun Su father for 3 years !!!
