The Second season of Joy of Life, JOL has maintained a place in top 3 of the top 100 c-dramas of all time on MDL since 2019 till 2023. Even in these 5 years, there has been a constant fight between JOL and the untamed for the #2 spot. It had astar studded cast back then, needless to say now. Some actors who played supporting roles in S1 have played leading characters in major productions and are no longer the small fries of that time. In fact, there have been additions like Mao Xiaotong who is another big name, and even she is playing just a supporting role here. The plot, music, costumes and direction, especially the camerawork was well above the average standard of that time. So, it makes sense for it to be one of the most anticipated dramas in 2019, even the most, considering how rare it is for c-dramas to have sequels.

Try watching Born to Run, it'll heal the trauma. Even in a cast of veteran actresses, YCY was not a misfit. Her acting is legit amazing there.

Exactly! Like she is one of those actresses that are hated for their acting and ruining high budget dramas and never improving at all, but YCY proved those haters wrong. I saw a lot of improvement in her acting in LYST already, but BTR blew me away!

Damn!!! The director is main director of TTEOM, also both the directors have worked together before as well. Also, the male leads have also worked together and have good chemistry, I am so damn excited to see this one!!! But its danmei...so.......thus begins the wait.................

Yi Zhi Hua was legit so cute, even more than Li Bing at times. But the ultimate heart stealer for me was Cui Bei. He just looked like he needed a cheerful girl the others forcefully matchmake him with and she drags him from stall to stall in a temple fair and by the end he starts doing lil romantic things for her and completely flusters her. Even after their wedding he is still the same shy Cui Bei but reserves his newfound cheerful side only for her.

IKR!!!! But also, she is the queen, she is the supreme of the society, even if she was involved with the bad guys, there was nothing they could do about her. She even dealt with the bad guys in the first place because of the public uproar.

Damn it...JOL is the one show that'll make me buy a subscription. Thanks a lot for helping me remain invincible. Jokes aside, you are a great person.

not gonna have a happy ending. In the intro, we see ZLJ holding a small wooden plaque in his hand and BXS praying next the same plaque in the next scene. Also, with the development they have had, it is quite like what the viewers want. The production team rarely does this for the second pairing in a serious drama. I think, BXS will die and only then will ZLJ realise how much she truly meant to him...please don't come after me for this 😣

You all might hate me for this, I hate my own mind for this, as a matter of fact, but I think that the second leads are

She was indeed bullied as a child, it's revealed in 2nd ep. She was a really chubby kid and was also the daughter of a merchant, albeit a very a rich one. Merchants were really looked down upon by officials and combined with the fact that she was not a beauty as per beauty standards, she was bullied a lot. YCW(og one) recognised her as the Lil fatty who used to follow her and PY. This is also why og SGZ was obsessed with being slim.

They didn't exchange souls, the wizard doctor just somehow changed their bodies. Technically, YCW only looks like SGZ, her soul is still in her own body. I know, it doesn't make a lot of sense but it is one of the very few illogical things in this show. The rest of it is surprisingly rational and well written
