Sooo I'm assuming 'Ji Chang Wook' is supposed to replace the 'stoic, but cool' Yang Yang as Ruo Bai? If anyone has any links about more cast confirmations, I'd really appreciate a link!!!
Seriously... Yanin is incredible. I hope she won awards for this film. I thought I'd be turned off by the amount of violence in this story, but WOW. I wasn't disappointed in any way. This was so... wonderfully choreographed (from the action sequences). Then the writing... so bittersweet yet so fulfilling (can I even say that? Despite it being tragic and dark, yet filled with Zen's love for her mom). I'm in awe. Definitely not one to miss!
I've only been able to find episode 1 without English subtitles :( I'd like to watch this series, so hopefully some sites pick it up! If anyone comes across a link that has English subtitles, I would really appreciate one!!! <3
How on earth can Umizuki reach an Inspector level without having basic agility, martial arts/self-defence, and strength training-based skills? Even if she can't run well (she could improve that will a little cardiovascular training). I haven't met a cop who doesn't go through some sort of 'Police Academy' where they learn basic fighting skills... how can she be out in the field like that? I'm enjoying this series so far since the cases are ok, but that seems to be quite unprofessional/unrealistic to me, even if she's very intelligent. It's quite ridiculous actually, especially since she could get seriously hurt.
That's exactly how I felt at first! It takes a good 6 episodes for you to be like, oh I see... but I warmed to this story, and I hope that doesn't stop you from watching! But to each their own of course :)
Viki says 16 episodes, so why does it says 27 here?
Viki has posted the airing date until mid-May, so I'm pretty sure it's still 27 episodes. They may have put up the chart before confirmation of the episode list? Otherwise maybe ask the admin that's subbing for this series? I have a viki account, so if they stop posting after 16 episodes, it's either because it ended (which I'm sure would be obvious), or they did the chart prematurely. Since I'm watching this series, it wouldn't make sense for it to be 16 episodes. Especially with the plot unravelling slowly but surely. It would take a lot of wrapping up in 4 episodes (and that would be rushing it!!). So, based on my opinion, MDL has it right for 27 episodes!
A forever re-watchable drama in my book!! I already want to re-watch it!! I loved every moment of it. I loved Jae Joon and Takuya the best here (even if they barely had an hour of screen time in the total series). I was genuinely happy to see a Korean production positively create a healthy queer relationship. Even a little representation is important. From what I've seen, most often queer relationships end with death, violence, or a combination. That is not to say that sexuality isn't a complex matter, and that there's lots of pain across sexualities. But, I'm so happy that this series challenged pressumptions about marriage and happiness. I wish there would be a season 2, but in a way I'm satisfied with their endings/beginnings. I just hope to see more characters/relationships like Jae Joon/Takuya which develop so we actually see them together.
WOW! Did this drama do the manga justice!!! I'm sitting here like... I can't get over the incredibleness of this series... and the acting... amazing work. Simply brilliant.
If Kim Sae Ron was 20 and Yoon Shi Yoon was 34, I'd shrug the age difference off. Even if she was 18, but 15...…
Lol when I see "Romance" listed as one of the themes in a series, I think the series is either strongly romance-based, or there are hints of romance, or romantic subplots/hints of it. I was SO looking forward to Yoon Shi Yoon's comeback after his service, and it looks like this part will be totally awesome for him. From what I understood, Sae Ron is playing a 'cursed' witch-princess who falls for Shi Yoon's character, so that doesn't necessarily mean there will be intimate moments between the two (ie kissing), but it just feels weird that (even though she's a mature actress for her age) they're pairing them together. We'll see though lol!! They could be great! I'm personally looking forward to seeing how Jung Ah pulls off a wicked villainous shaman :D
If Kim Sae Ron was 20 and Yoon Shi Yoon was 34, I'd shrug the age difference off. Even if she was 18, but 15... of all the talented actresses in the Republic of South Korea, really now? REALLY?
AHHH one of my all-time favourite anime's!!! I hope they do this series justice!! Especially Balsa!! But, I'm…
I know, right? I think so too! After watching it, I automatically gave it a 10 on MAL. Loved it to pieces. I will definitely check it out! Thanks for the recommendation!! Haha Spirited Away is one of my favourite films! Your avatar is pretty cool too, the skies remind me a bit of Clannad.

:D :D I love the anime! Balsa is literally one of my top 5 favourite characters of life lol. I haven't! But I just looked it up and saw that she stars in that taiga drama... interesting... now I'm excited to see what she looks like in costume for Moribito... it gives me a bit more hope. I think aside from wanting the story to 'accurately' reflect the intensity of the story, I really wanted the battles to be well done. But I think you made a great point! Plus, I just noticed they plan to cover A LOT, so I'm sure over time (if we all get good vibes from this show) it'll probably just keep getting more awesomer.
AHHH one of my all-time favourite anime's!!! I hope they do this series justice!! Especially Balsa!! But, I'm worried a bit about Ayase... Balsa has awesome muscles... and I don't think Ayase has the built that I'm envisioning?... we'll see I suppose!
