Title Make a Woman Cry Spoiler
Deok In's mother is so cruelly selfish. How could she tell her daughter to go back to the man that cheated on her. She didn't even have an "affair" to the degree that her ex-husband did. How despicable minded to you have to be to pull a double standard like that onto a woman. Especially since her mother was absent for 35 plus years of her life. WOW.

There is somewhat of a script tragedy if you ask me: having Chris come in towards the end of the series, I mean. It would have been awesome to have his character come in shortly after Xiao Ruo came back from France. When the writers butchered Zhen Yu's character development (and I literally mean they chopped it up into tiny bits towards his deparature from the show. Main lead? Sureeee. *heavy sarcasm*). I thought to myself that Chris would have been quite a dynamic lead. I much have preferred Chris as either the interesting love rival for Han Jie any day, on top of having an interesting multi-dimensional personality, he acted great. Zhen Yu's character became pointless after 4 episodes, and I think that although he could have played a major role or at least one with as much intrigue as he had at the beginning, he became a comical idiot and I hated that about the series. Chris was pretty damn great, and I wished we saw more of that, instead of putting his story line towards the end because there needed to more a slight twinge of angst in the drama. The only thing that kept me watching this to the end would be the cute high school love lines/couples and Pei Ying. Otherwise, I would have dropped this one. It was nice, but it could have been better.
*BIG SPOILERS AHEAD* I really loved this series. Okada and Aragaki work so well together. I thought they were adorable co-workers in Legal High 2, so this was a special treat for me to see them together again. The reason why I gave ita 9 instead of a 10 was for 2 major factors. 1) the series doesn't explore Kyoko's REASON for her memory loss (and it's not a moot point because the entire series revolves around the fact that she loses her memory when she sleeps). Is is because it's a medical condition? Emotional trauma? Did she have an accident? They keep wondering about what happened without actually having delved into it. Even grazing the surface of the mystery behind Kyoko's memory would have been awesome. Instead of replaying that damn scene where she is running away (and we see the same scene again when she's running away at the end. What does it all mean? Was she running away from someone that caused her to lose her memory? I feel like the writers throw this metaphoric fishing rod and then hoist it back before us as watchers of this drama have the chance to figure some stuff out). It would have been complete if we knew a bit about her past even if her memory wasn't going to be "fixed"? I know some mysteries are better left as mysteries, but I think this was important to the series. And Lastly, 2) THE DAMN SHORT LENGTH. I have a bittersweet relationship to J-drama's. I love them because they don't drag on the story most of the time, and the writing (especially in detective drama's) is straight to the point, and the dialogues are usually written very well (I am particularly fond of BOSS 1 + 2, Lucky Seven, Siren, and Bitter Blood). Here, the cases were interesting, and I enjoyed watching it. It's just I wish sometimes they would extend for a fraction more without depleting the quality of the writing. I didn't feel like they rushed the ending, I just wish it would have continued for 4-5 more episodes which explore Kyoko's past and memory loss. IF this was a part of the series, and IF it ended on the same feels that the ending left us here with those two cute leads then I would have easily given this series a 10. IF this series is given a second season I can forgive them for cutting an amazing series at only 10 episodes. SECOND SEASON, ONEGAISHIMASU!!

Um... okay, I was going to let go of the *stalking* since it's overused and cliched. Then it progressed to LOCKING her away with all the stuff she needs. That's called kidnapping. Not keeping her until she agrees to marry him because he can't live without her -ARE YOU SERIOUS? So not cool. So very not cool. All I can say is RUN SAKURABA RUN. No ikemen/guy is worth that shit. I know I'll finish this series, but damn, that's messed up right there.

As cliche as this drama sounds, Jang Na Ra's drama's are my guilty pleasures. I will definitely be tuning in. The only reservations I have would be the fact that it says "Drama" and "Family." I was hoping for a bit of comedy from the premise. BUT, if the writing is solid, I'll have no complaints. See you in 2016 :)

I'm actually so tired of the amount of body and fat shaming that goes on in Korean dramas: aka, the obsession with the 'slim' bod. As somehow you're only good looking and healthier if you lose weight, or present as thin. I think it's VERY problematic to state that by somehow being overweight means you're worthless and not pretty. I was happy to see So Ji Sub and Shin Min Ah back in drama land, but as soon as I read the synopsis, I actually had a moment of despair. Why? Why did you both have to agree to a premise like this? Or, WHY do we have seen the shaming of bodies or the 'transformation' of bodies in series which only value women for their bodies and not their intelligence. If someone even dares to rant to me about the benefits of health, I will remind folks that within a continuum (ongoing) of bodies existing on degrees of 'thinness' and 'fatness' there are both serious health implications for EXTREME forms of unhealthiness (anorexia nervosa, for example, and perhaps someone's weight who exceeds over 400 pounds), because seeking health doesn't have any size limitations, but not everyone exercises or changes their diet to lose weight. Needless to say, I will not be watching this one. Even if it pains me that these are two actors that I really love.

Is the novel published in book-form or is it just like a pdf-link on the internet?
Ding Mo is the original writer of this series, and she's a novelist. There are no pdf's online, but you can order it if you can read Chinese. I believe you can get translated versions, but I'm not too sure. However, the good news is, a (fantastic) fan is translating Ding Mo's novel (this one) into English: http://lmfyd.blogspot.co.nz/p/links-to-chapter-123.html She has up to Chapter 38, and usually updates daily. I was relieved and happy to find this awesome source. Happy reading if this is something you're interested in! :)

Okay I have to get this off of my chest... Pei Ze, the sexually harrassing scumbag he already is... committed a form of sexual/physical assault against Jian Yao in episode 8. In my country, any unwanted touching or sexually aggressive/violent force is sexual assault. I can't even... who the hell lets him get away with all this in and outside the office? For justifying jumping on top of Jian Yao in a dark room, and touching her like that, and going so far as to say she 'owes' him for 'tasering' him. HE IS LITERALLY A PIECE OF SH*T. What was she supposed to say: "Oh, I'm sorry for defending myself when I didn't give you consent to attack me..." I know Jian Yao in that moment/at the the moment didn't want to blow her cover, but if this jerkface doesn't end up behind bars in the new few episodes, I'm going to metaphorically explode. .

Is there actually horror in this drama because I really don't like to watch horror movies or dramas and this drama…
I think you should mark your comment as a spoiler, Lulu, just in case people haven't seen the extended trailer. Here is the link to the first four chapters which have been translated: https://dreamavenuee.wordpress.com/2014/06/30/when-he-comes-close-your-eyes-chapter-1-1/ and here is a blog dedicated to c-novels: http://onesecondspring.blogspot.ca/2015/06/he-has-come-please-close-your-eyes-by.html (they give a review of the novel, and some of the comments give you a bit more info, otherwise there's not too much I can find that hasn't been translated into English) :)

Is there actually horror in this drama because I really don't like to watch horror movies or dramas and this drama…
There will be gore and disturbing imagery. I've watched the first 6 episodes, and I've read about the original novel. Ling Mo (the author) was inspired by Criminal Minds (an American TV show), and if you've seen it like I have, there is plenty to be disturbed by. It isn't conventionally "horror," per-say (there are murders and investigations of those crimes) but I would label it more as a psychological thriller with hints of suspense (the music can be eerie, so I suppose it gives off more of a feel of horror). But there has been one case so far, and I know a few more are to come, and lets just say it's supposed to get more intense. I think if you don't like horror, there's a 50/50 chance you may or may not like this series because I find certain moments of this series to be chilling. But, I will admit, the storytelling and acting is on point.

Is this worth watching? I saw one of the comments that each get a love line. Are the girls annoying and don't…
Hmm, I suppose I could say that there are girls in this series that are quite annoying, but even though what they do is quite irritating, the female lead (Li Mo) doesn't let anyone walk all over her, and she sticks up for herself. I found her to be quite awesome for pushing back against those that were bullying her. I won't go into details, but the main girls in this series have their own strengths. One of them even learns martial arts and becomes super badass. I don't want to ruin any major plot lines, but I can say that there are fulfilling relationships and bonds in this series. Some tragic, whereas others are cute, and some are romantic. It really depends how much you can take in terms of the pettiness that comes from jealous secondary characters. But yes, each of them does get a love line, but it takes a while for things to get going in terms of progress. So if you're looking for love to pop up within five episodes, it doesn't happen. There's a slow pace, but I enjoyed the series because nothing was too rushed. This was my first wuxia series and it was good. I have seen better romances though. If you want me to get into more detail I can, but I don't want to spoil anything^^ there were points I found it got draggy but overall, I'd say it's worth trying it out.

Okay... am I missing the part where they explained WHY the Wolf Clan's blood and the Holy Sect's blood mingled together allowed for the 'incredible' power from the Treacherous Books to be released? Prince Ahn was so fixated on getting his revenge that he never explained why it was the Wolf Clan's blood in the first place? And then we throw Li Mo's mother into the mix with that back story. I mean, alright, there was consistency in terms of plot, but it left me wondering why this particular mix in the first place?

I will ship Kim Shin Hyeok and Kim Hye Jin in my mind, and in an alternate universe for the rest of this series. I know how this is going to end, and Ji Seong Jun is going to eventually wake up and smell the daisies and fight for Hye Jin's love, but right now, bless his heart, Shin Hyeok is adorable. He's the kind of charming, humourous, and down to earth person I would love in a partner (Siwon, you're suhhh good). At this point, I can only despise Ha Ri for her pathetic cunningness, but I mean, really? I was expecting her antics to escalate. How long did you think you'd be able to hide your "dating" partner from Hye Jin? Shameful. Just shameful. Team Kim Shin Hyeok and Kim Hye Jin for reals here.

*rant ahead* I can foresee myself really enjoying this drama. But, there are some major speed bumps/red lights in my mind that I'm struggling with. First of all, Park Seo Joon is fantastic. This is in no way a criticism of his acting abilities. My concern is with the character, Ji Seong Jun (JSK). Granted JSK hadn't seen his first love (I'm assuming we're lead to believe that's how he felt) in 15 years, the very fact that he gravitated towards a hyperfeminine woman, which he thought was Kim Hye Jin (KHJ), is not something I'm totally offended by. He's probably kept his image of her in a weird and understandable way. What I am going to be critical of is the harassment. Work place harassment is a problem. In my part of the world, there are tons of bylaws protecting people against harassment like that. Bosses, or those that supervise you aren't supposed to be wonderfully kind all the time, but part of their duty is to foster a respectful environment. I've seen workplace assaults and harassment in other drama's, so I'm not painting this series as the only exception, but what the actual hell? Even if he's supposed to take this magazine out of the gutter, belittling co-workers is nonsense. What's worse is that "disability" has been dropped in this series in the negative. It's totally inappropriate, offensive, as well as oppressive language. It's not funny, and it's not cool writer of this show. I know there will come a day when JSK comes to realize his mistakes in terms of mis-identifying KHJ, but I'm so furious at what he's doing now in the first two episodes. Even if he 'softens' up later, how can he harrass KHJ like that without any sense of guilt, or with any sense of 'wait, this is a person I haven't gotten to know yet, so maybe I should back off for a moment.' I get that this is a drama, and I'm quite impressed with Siwon here, but there's so much harassment and verbal assaults on KHJ that are totally unnecessary. Even if he improves later on in the series, seeing as childhood him is a decent guy, I don't think I'll be able to get past a lot of the (pardon my bluntness) shit that has come out of his mouth.

FINALLY!!! Someone wrote an article like this. I've been preaching about this where I see it, and it's been a long while since I've entered dramaland. Gendered violence is a PROBLEM, and it can be extreme and excessive in some dramas, and in the case where acts of violence itself are being romanticized (aka the aggressive "male" is seen as sexy and cool when he "controls" a female in the series, as the author has noted numerously). It promotes dangerous messages and naturalizes this kind of behavior. There is NOTHING glamourous about violence. It is not acceptable to enter in someone's space and violate their sense of safety and security via any form of assault: physical, psychological, emotional, verbal (etc). Consent is so important in any relationship too. PREACH THIS SHIT. I love dramas, and there are plenty of amazing series out there, but we need to call this out when we see it, ask these questions about what is being represented, and have issues with these negative representations and portrayals, especially concerning the limiting gender boxes that men and women are categorized into (like violent hypermasculine males and feminized and submissive females). There is not need to be apologetic about writing an article like this. When we see characters like this, especially the way they treat human beings (whether that be within different power dynamics like relationships to family to the work place), it's unhealthy.

Title God's Quiz Season 4 Spoiler
Did the writer want to make Shi Woo into a complete naive idiot, or were they trying to make him come across as intuitive because his death was ridiculous, and not a surprise. Actually, aside from the cuteness in our main lead couple, this season was not up to par with its three predecessors. Maybe it's because there was a new writer? In any case, the smart thing to do, Shi Woo, was to let the ACTUAL DETECTIVES know what information you found (since it's their job), and let them deal with it. Were you trying to be a wannabe Inspector Gadget? For all that is holy on this earth, what compelled you to do something that dangerous, is something I will never know because he's a fictional character that apparently doesn't take any precautions when poking around corrupt companies. Do you not have a "I-have-a-bad-feeling-about-this" bone in your body? Couldn't you just say it and confide in others? You... I just can't.That, and the entire "team" didn't have a good chemistry like the previous three. What a disappointment, and I really loved the God's Quiz franchise.
