Did the people who rated this, actually saw the drama? I'm asking because on viki, at this point, the rating is…
This story is focused strongly on the "journey" that Tang Tang is on (and, of course, the people she meets, including Yue Fang) . And she's super kickass (definitely not your cliche character for sure!). She's definitely not annoying. I think she's a well-rounded character, and so far the stories are interesting (there's a bit of a horror element here too). I think the filming and the script writing has been unique so far. I'd say that in comparison to idol dramas, it's quite refreshing. I hope you end up liking it! And I hope the writing and story line stays good too!
SPOILERS (a bit) ahead: There's a hinted chemistry/elements of romance (though only superficial at this point) between Tang Tang and Yue Feng. Tang Tang "had" a boyfriend (I won't spoil any details here), and Yue Feng "was" with someone, but she's definitely not going to end up with him (again, you'd have to watch and see). Plus, the concluding theme song (like most Chinese dramas, I've noticed) gives a few spoilers ahead, and you can tell that the first two I mentioned seem to have a deeper connection. I hope this helps a bit!
This series or any other series don't work anymore on any of the sites dramanice or dramacool. I think they have…

I rated it a 9 precisely because I don't know if the people actually voting are trolling or they actually aren't interested in it. I think it's been great so far. It depends what your drama cup of tea is. It's got suspense, supernatural, and mysterious elements to it. I find, unless it's a Korean drama on MDL, most people don't pay attention to other great drama's being done (with, of course, a few exceptions). I think this one is unique, and I trust viki's ratings more because they are usually the people watching it and giving reviews directly on the page about what they think. It's up to you, I'd try the first episode or two to see if you like the series. There are new actors, so it's nice to see new people acting too! I'm up to episode 5 and I'm really liking it.
This series will probably be my guilty pleasure every week! I hope more people tune in! Please support the subbing team at viki!! https://www.viki.com/tv/30736c-wind-chime

Those are some awesome thoughts! I agree as well. It just seems like a unfinished puzzle that'll continue to slowly piece together. It's just hard waiting for the last two weeks to see how the writing will take these characters. I hope so too...
This might be an odd hypothosis I've come up with, but I've been thinking about a potential 'butterfly'/ripple effect an event like 'saving' Sun Woo in this series, but I DO believe that if Sun Woo was alive, younger Hae Yeong probably might not have been as distant to little Yoon Jung (the first case that connected him to Det. Jae Han). I think that if Hae Yeong was there for Yoon Jung, she might not have been kidnapped (not blaming him for the event of course, but go with me here for a sec...) and the 'kidnapping' case may not have happened (so long as that narcissistic woman didn't get her hands on another innocent kid, or she got caught again) and Det. Jae Han wouldn't have got involved, allowing him to live. The only thing I can think of that throws my theory off, is that damned Director. I'm almost positive that he would have plotted regardless to 'off' Jae Han. But, I'm super curious to see how they're going to piece together this masterpiece of complexity they've created. Will they 'save' Jae Han? Sun Woo? I'm pretty sure this show will keep us guessing until the end, but I must say, seeing as the writers seem to be strongly hinting at the romantic attachment between Jae Han and Soo Hyun, I hope they get these two together with a re-writing of the past. In addition to keeping Sun Woo alive. I just don't think these 'cases' would be brought up in the show without a kind of 'let's save them' kind of deal. Again, who knows! But it's one of my favourites this year!!!
Usually when I watch thriller/suspenseful/investigation dramas, I'm never an idealist. Open endings, endings which are not conclusive, or endings that end with some tragedies: I'm usually saddened by but okay with because that's the genre, and not everything is daisies and roses. BUT DAMN, Signal... even after 4 episodes, I'm so emotionally attached to the characters. In my perfect world, Jae Han and Soo Hyun will be together, Hae Yeong's Hyung will be alive, and Yoon Jung would have survived. I mean, I'm sure asking a lot for this series, but I'm going to be devastated if some of these characters don't get a second chance T_T I mean, I'm compelled to see what happens, but I really hope, if anything, there's a light at the end of the tunnel in this one.
The PROBLEM with Heirs is precisely BECAUSE it has a generic and cliche plot line. It COULD have been cliche, if there was more than just the cliches. Need I go into detail? Rich guy falls for poor girl, but not after having met poor girl coincidentally. Poor girl goes to rich guy's school and faces problems. Another rich guy comes in (love rivalry) and starts to like poor girl. There's a lot of hand and wrist grabbing, and a ton of crying, and a ton of back and forth -I want you, but I can't be with you. I wrote about this on MDL's page soon after I finished watching this. What made Heirs unique, however, were the SIDE STORIES, the supporting characters, and that is the ONLY reason why I gave it more points than it deserved. I stand by the fact that this should have been a 40-50 episode series, or with less supporting characters that were the one's that ACTUALLY HAD INTERESTING stories. The supporting characters were far more complex, and I wished we saw more of that. Instead, we get... well, you know the rest of the story.
30 minutes into this series, and I already think that the Prince is a piece of sh*t. I'm anticipating zero character development (that'll be a miracle maybe?), but WOW, selfishness to a whole new level for me. Including the Prince's mother, the Queen. She's either ignorant of her son's behaviour or geniuenly disillusioned.
If Mi Mo is still wavering in next week's episodes, I'll be disappointed!!! Girl needs to step up her honest game towards Soo Hyuk if that was supposed to be a *light bulb* 'I'm in love with him" moment at the end of episode 10. If this was 20 episodes (which I kinda wished it was, seeing as there three other love lines) I know they'd probably drag it out, but I hope that they keep the quality of the writing up, and not send any stupid tropes, like Mi Mo not saying anything because of that Doctor (who, by the way, the whole of his existence in the last 8 episodes has been annoying for me. Hard for him to see Mi Mo romantically because of an invisible halo around her? Please. Just stop.) More screen time for Mi Mo and Soo Hyuk, and of course Min Woo!! <3 And, to be honest, although this series breaks my heart at moments, especially when Soo Hyuk cries so devastatingly. I'm still really enjoynig it. These two definitely deserve a happy ending together, fighting for the last 4 episodes!!!
HAHAAAHAHAHA playing one of the theme songs during episode 10!! Breaking the fourth wall I see lol that's awesome. Based on my speculation, at least from now until the end of this series, I'm pretty sure by episode 9 Zi Feng knows about Pi Nuo's true identity. I just have this strange premonition that he does and he wants Pi Nuo to come forward and tell him herself... suh good so far. Suuuh good.
I'm on episode 7, and that 'emergency' pregnancy on the bus was written so poorly. First of all, her water didn't even break? Secondy, when women start contracting, they contract over a period of time. Some women can give birth within a few hours, and some women up to 24 hours after contractions start; it depends on how far a part they are. THEN after the process of seeing if the baby is crowning (aka coming out), you need to take so much precautions, like keeping everything sterile, preparing to cut the umbilicol cord. OH MY GOD, that was so horrible. It's like she just popped out a baby in 2 mins (maybe it was the editing that made it look off-putting and weird). But that just doesn't happen in real life. I'm liking this series, but that was majorly awkward.
AHHH one of my favourite BL manga's was adapted into a live action and I didn't have a clue!!! OMG it's SO ON POINT. I've wanted this one to be adapted for years, dreams come true. Love <3
MARS is an incredibly dark manga. I've read it twice, partly because I enjoyed the story's honestly, and another…
@AnitaGuida, I know I will eventually watch the T-version, but I've found that most manga that transitions into live actions can be butchered (I couldn't find an alternative to that word!). I can totally see what you mean since I watched the trailer too. I hope I'm wrong as well. I mean, they can't cover the entire manga in 10 episodes, but I hope they do the manga justice!
MARS is an incredibly dark manga. I've read it twice, partly because I enjoyed the story's honestly, and another because the story lines are gripping. I haven't had the courage to watch the T-version of it because I didn't want it to ruin the manga, and also because it has A LOT of heavy material. Plus, I also feel like (without spoiling the details) that there are little things I would hate for them to exclude because it's not "PG" enough for audiences. There's nothing lighthearted about this series in terms of the emotional scars these two have, and althought the premise says "romance," and indeed, there is, there's still a lot more layering and pain there. If they can reflect that I would watch it, but I have my doubts. I'm surprised after all this time Japan decided to adapt this series. The fact that there's a 10 year age gap between the two leads makes me believe they're going to saturate this series and that will be dissapointing. Another fact is that it's 10 episodes, so I know they'll only be taking fragments of the story out which I'm like *le sigh*.I'm apprehensive, but I will watch the first episode. I guess I'll return to my thoughts then.
