Joe Chen is so beautiful. She's so talented. But I'm trying to get used to her dubbed over voice here and it's not working. I will watch this series but knowing Joe's actual voice (compared to this high pitched one) is gonna bother me. I know its done in a majority of Chinese dramas but I love her voice. I'm going to watch it anyway because the story sounds interesting. But I won't forgive that.

Title The Girl Who Sees Scents Spoiler
Chew Kwon Jae Hee is so adorable.
I can usually empathize with characters who are multidimensional, because I know what it feels like to misunderstood, what it feels like to being hurt, and even betrayed. It's human nature. We live, we learn, and sometimes we forgive, or we do forgive. People have reasons for doing what they do, whether society judges them against a moral code/weighing of of "goodness" and "badness." Which, arguably can be problematic in cases where someone kills another human being as an act of self defense, or hurts/murders another to prevent them from taking the life of someone close to them in a moment. I can see why 'murder' in this sense is a choice which is to self-preserve or protect. The man that is the antagonist in this series so far is not sympathetic to his victims. He kills them because he wants to, and craftly gets away with it. There is nothing in the slightest bit adorable or redeeming about him in that way aside from that superficial cuteness that we see him playing sometimes. When he's being "cute" I see that as something more despicable and conniving, and definitely not his true self. I mean, he can wake up every single day, and look in the mirror, and go along with his life satisfied without having a moment of regret (from what I've seen so far) about what's he's done to innocent people and their families and friends. I know these are all our personal opinions (as this is a drama, I always remind myself!), but it frightens me quite a lot to think that his psychotic actions and innate narcissistic tendencies are being overlooked because he has a few moments where he is able to play 'human' very well. If he has been through something in his past that caused him to do this, I'd be interesting to see how this story portrays that. But if by the end he really just turns out to be a deeply disturbed psychopath well then...

Kim Jae Wook, you are a gorgeous man. This series breaks, yet fulfills my heart so much. Oh the feels. I know Oppa was having trouble/a hard time coming back from the military around this time, so I hope this series helped ease his emotions and was good for him. He was so great in Coffee Prince. I hope he does more projects with main lead roles.

Title My Unfortunate Boyfriend Spoiler
I find Hye Mi to be quite petty. Circumstanially speaking even if she doesn't impress the director she's still from old money. Her family will support her financially, and it's not like she couldn't find another career. People like her bother me. If she was fair when she competed I wouldn't be complaining, but she acts like a self-centered princess that seeks to "get what she wants" just because of her status. That's the vibe I get from her. Fighting Ji Na! I'm hoping she never lets Hye Mi trample over her success to the bitter end.

Chef Kwon Jae Hee is a brilliant manipulator and is incredibly sadistic. The fact that he makes his victims write…
I know, I'm hoping he can see it's not her fault. I'm pretty sure that Chef is going to come after Cho Rim as soon as he finds out she's the one that he was supposed to murder. This series seems like it progresses well so I'm hoping Moo Gak finds out her identity next week and then Cho Rim too starts to recover her memory. Probably by episode 11-12 she might no fully remember the killer's face but maybe about her parents and life before, but that's a guess on my end. This show keeps surprising me so who knows. It reminds me a bit of I Hear Your Voice, and I'm enjoying the suspense.

I noticed that as well. And me too, when I see him my skin crawls. He's a great actor, and I'm definitely frightened/disturbed by what he's done as a character. So I totally agree with you too.

Title The Girl Who Sees Scents Spoiler
Chef Kwon Jae Hee is a brilliant manipulator and is incredibly sadistic. The fact that he makes his victims write in a large book for an entire week before murdering them is beyond cruel and inhumane. That kind of torture deserves the worse sentencing possible. I mean, I can hypothesize that he treats his victims like interesting subjects that can create knowledge and produce words in a time of desperation and desire, and file their words away in his personal library like they are a part of his collection. Total psychopath is right. I'm curious as to why he does this, but I'm also completely sickened by it. I can't imagine the pain that Moo Gak will go through when he finds out Cho Rim's identity, but Cho Rim... I feel as though she's going to fall deeper into despair since she has admired and trusted that Chef who kidnapped then murdered her parents, and tried to kill her. Even more so when I think about if she ever is able to see her mom and/or dad's "books." I don't care how gorgeous that Chef is (in this drama world); he's no different from most serial killers who are usually not suspect because they are charming and calculative, and I was suspicious from the start. This has such an intensity to a drama that balances between lighthearted and comical to absolute devastation and darkness. Needless to say, I am impressed with the story line.

15 minutes in, and Shin Se Kyung, who is incredibly beautiful, alongside that unique blue eye, is super pretty. Shame on people judging her for it. Genetic or as a result of this interesting story line.

Doo Soo and Se Ro are growing on me. I think they're adorable. I totally ship them. Both their personalities are likeable. As for Yi Seok's family, each and every one is selfish (with the exception of Se Ro of course). Each of them projecting on Hong Do like she's disposable is despicable. They're all awful if you ask me, and I hope they realize it fast. I have 2 episodes left and I can't stand them.

She's holding a Chucky doll!! Did no one notice? From the horror series Child's Play, with the possessed doll…
I just noticed that. Omo lol I don't know about this haha

How can a psychiatrist use the word "crazy" and not realize how oppressive and ableist that term is?…
I concur! That's the same problem I have right now. I'm stuck on episode 8. The romance is really interesting but sometimes the language rubs me the wrong way. Otherwise it's pretty good.

She's holding a Chucky doll!! Did no one notice? From the horror series Child's Play, with the possessed doll that was a psychotic killer before he transferred his soul into that doll and started terrorizing a young boy and murdering a ton of people in the process. That's creepy!! The emblem of my nightmares in the 1990s. Don't mind me while I crawl under my covers and cringe... it looks interesting though but why that doll?!
This series is absolutely hilarious and heart warming! I love how it breaks out of social and gender conventions all the time. The costumes in this series are brilliant! Very happy I came across this one! I'll definitely be re-watching it again for Yoriko and Takumi's bickering.

Ahhh all these secrets!!! I need to find out, two weeks left!!! And fighting!!! Doctor Jung!! I hope he finds the cure to the virus (but who knows where the direction of this drama will go!). I hope he finishes the work that his father originally started and that Jae Wook stops rationalizing a lot of his horrible actions, things have gone too far, and it looks like your empire is crashing a little here, vampire doctor-nim. The romance is extra sweet now too! :)
On Heart to Heart Apr 4, 2015
How can a psychiatrist use the word "crazy" and not realize how oppressive and ableist that term is? There is no way in hell a person like Yi Seok would ever get away practicing in my eyes. His methods, and the way he talks to patients is totally belittling, not even the slightly bit of patient-centred care. I'm only on episode 4 now, and aside from the unorthodox treatment of patients, I'm actually quite displeased by that. I really think the premise is interesting, and I'm liking Hong Do, but that guy, seriously, I hope he changes over the course of this series big time. Otherwise in my mind I keep referring to It's Okay, That's Love (and that drama, aside from being one of my favourites) does the mental health theme well from start to finish. Otherwise the story is progressing very smoothly so no complaints on that end, I'm enjoying it a lot!

Okay, so what about her illness? Did she miraculously get cured? Her fainting on stage was kind of glossed over by that random dance party with "GOT7" together, and that rather confusing but open ended ending in that epilogue. If it's meant to have a season 2, a special, or something, that's understandable. I'm usually pretty cool with open endings, but that was just... I don't know how I feel about that for such a short series. I mean, her saying goodbye to them, and hoping they meet again would have be just as fine for me.The acting was nice though! But I'm pretty sure these idol mini dramas are totally promotional, which I think it accomplished its purpose. Very awesome special effects, and I loved seeing Chansung in a few episodes!!

I love it, but this is the first time I'm not expecting kissing scenes between main actors. . . Their relationship…
They definitely don't act like brother and sister. At least, from what I've observed, I mean their back story gives a very love at first sight/fated to be together feel. Is there any reason why you feel that way? Their hinted emotional relationship is so vivid in this series. Without the kissing, I can definitely sense and feel their connection. I'm enjoying the medical/mystery behind the virus right now, and I think it makes sense not to include the romance right now because of the intensity of the situation. I can see them getting closer and closer as time goes on, and hopefully at the end they'll be romantically involved in an official sense. I'm actually happy the romance is taking a bit of back seat in the story, as their own stories are revealed. But overall, I love it too, and it'll probably be a perfect 10 for me if they end up together. Just right now, I think it's great even without the kissing.
