Father Cha... I love him so much!!! AHHH I'm so addicted to this drama right now, and I'm so upset I kept this one on hold!!! This one plays with your heartstrings a lot. I'm also learning so much from the little lessons in this series... I lost my father a few years ago, and there's a lot I regret about what happened between us. We were estranged for years... but this drama truly makes you think about your parents so much. I only wish I cherished the time with my father, and looking at this... it really brings out so much emotions in you (if you've experienced the same). Especially if you were raised by people who were selfless and truly giving. WOW. I'm only 15 eps in, and as a writer, I only hope I could be just as good of a story teller as this writer-nim. Don't delay... this is such a wonderful family drama. The aunt is the best, and Seo Wool is just the sweetest.

That's totally fair! He does reunite with him a bit this season (more like hanging out/resolving feelings), but Gus realizes he likes Win 'right now.' He says that maybe in the future they'd be a possibility (like, if their paths crossed at the right time sort of thing). Besides, Win is pretty adorable lol I warmed up to him even though I was like what about my baby Top??? Honestly though, I feel like Top needs to grow up a little more (preferably becoming much more independent from his parents, particularily his mom, if he wanted to seriously be with Gus, who was always worried about his relationship with his parents breaking down because of him. Maybe a bit of a time skip in season 3 if there's one... that's the only way I'd accept a reunion of Top and Gus... that and somehow writing about Win and Gus's break up in a way that is understandable because literally... if you watch Win along this series, he's actually such a sweetheart.

Before I start watching this... can any who has watched this so far comment on whether or not this seems episodic? Rather then about a 'larger' picture story here with a serial killer (a larger case) looming in the background that one or a few of our leads are connected to. I feel like either it'll be a cliche or it'll literally be like a season of the American version (which I won't mind either). Thanks in advance! And if it's not really clear so far... guess I'll wait and see!

LMAO!! I know what you mean. The one doing subs for this (mottofreaky on twitter. People we're unfortunately stealing her subs *cough dramacool*) but it's actually being subbed by someone on wordpress: mydearkdramas.wordpress.com. They have up to episode 9, and will finish subbing episode 10. The twitter user dropped it because she didn't like it anymore, but there one person subbing!! It's right on their home page. I'm waiting till it's fully subbed/uploaded to binge watch. Should be done soon!

I totally know what you mean! I spent quite a bit of time 'hating,' on myself for ignoring a few dramas I really wanted to drop because they didn't appeal to me. Now, I'm past that point. If I'm not feeling it, I drop it. The one's I rated the lowest are the one's I barely finished. So good on you too! I think I'll definitely do that more often! Aw that would be awesome! I'm pretty much all over the page, but anything goes!! I've only watched a few melo's (or dramas with melo aspects), so if you have any recommendations that would be great!!

I think a good cathartic drama can be really stress relieving. I've watched a few revenge-related dramas and it's honestly the best. But this doesn't even have a saving grace. I'm sorry, but it's just... so unbearable to watch.

I have come to this conclusion that whether or not some of the characters we're shipping (obviously, YY and Xinger) end up together...I hope that this series doesn't end in a cliffhanger... I just, even an open ending would be fine, but a cliffhanger --while knowing that none of (or only some) of the original cast could return would break my heart. I'm here for Xinger, I truly am. Can we just have a moment of appreciation for this female warrior. I'm a few episodes behind but seldom do I see a female fighter stand by her beliefs so strongly, selflessly (even though I'm like just take care of yourself too boo) and ruthlessly (yet with humility, stay true to justice) in drama land (yes, there are some exceptions, I know!!), and stands by her comrades in battle. Although it'll be a bittersweet feeling for me if this doesn't end up nicely wrapped up in a bow... I just want to say through all the hard work that the crew went through filming this, and all the actors... bravo. This has been truly one of the best wuxia's I've had the pleasure of coming across.

To say this drama is so extra is an understatement. I've been skipping through this series for the last 30 episodes and literally... this has turned to be so... trashy. I hate to say it, but aside from the absurdity (the point of the drama?), this could have taken a whole different angle and tone, but it just... dives off the deep end... way too far. I guess makjang's are really not for me lmao.

Well, in a nutshell:
He was pretty playful for the first 20 episodes. Being sweet towards Xinger (wanting to make her 'his,' as in, to go to Yanbei with him where she could be free).
Then,and SPOILER. Shit goes down. From episode 20-28 we see his entire family ruthlessly killed by the Emperor (a fake conspiracy led to their murders. Prepare for some heavy ass dramatics during this part). He sees their heads being brought in a box to 'identify,' but he doesn't concede and gets shot at with arrows. His mom even kills herself in front of him after 'joining' her family, telling him to live on.
He then ends up in prison with Xinger and promises to protect her and get revenge.
He eventually gets out (after chopping off of his finger to save Xinger, enduring tons of emotional and physical wounds), then escapes. He is then confined 'small luxurious area,' with a few servants and Xinger for 3 THREE YEARS!! Where he plots and trains, and people continue to try and kill him (rival families/etc. Like through poison and night raids. Tough stuff here)
He then starts up a rebellion.
This is when we see him turn 'darker,' to avenge the death of his family.
From episode 30 onward, you see him become a little more twisted. He starts killing innocent villagers and people. He wants to go back to Yanbei, but he continues to do so with blood on his hands (all in the name of who betrayed him family). Like, it's pretty intense, but he starts becoming much more visibly 'evil,' past episode 40. Now we're at a point where he doesn't even want to reveal himself (when he had the chance) to Xinger (when they separated, because she went back to help the troop he abandoned for death). But so far, yes... shit happened to Yan Xun and it will definitely heighten for the last few weeks.
Hope that helped. Sorry for the rant. It's sad, but also interesting to watch Shawn Dou portray such a round character.

The struggle of finally catching up to this drama, and even though a majority of the series is done, I'm also truly wishing I waited until it actually finished. I'M CRYING ON THE INSIDE. Why did I do this to myself... ughhhhh. I have such a girl crush on Xinger/Chu Xiao. She's so badass!!!!

This... fizzled out a bit for me and I'm trying to get through the last few episodes... I'm really disappointed in Bong Hee's lack of kickassery towards Hyun Soo when she had the chance. (I was truly waiting for the perfect confrontation scene, and then... we get that...).. I feel like if they actually stuck to more cases where she could shine more as an actual lawyer instead (because we get a bit of it... but it still felt a bit empty at times), it would have made this drama stronger (because they did start out strong, showing her strengths). I really loved this series in the beginning. It kept me glued to the screen every. single. week... and then I noticed a few things in the latter half of this series that just turned it into... blagh, and I hate saying that because I'm not trying to troll on the actors or storytelling. It just could have been better, especially without their unfortunate childhood tie (which I'm like... stop kdramas, please, stop...). I feel like that could have been replaced with more cases, and that the amnesia thing could have been a more interesting element if he was actually tracking them and trying to kill them (like it didn't really last long)... anyway... mixed feelings to say the least/my personal opinion.

OKKKKKK folks, for those who have read this novel I need spoilers!!! I really want to know who Xinger ends up with? Because I keep reading online 2 things, 1)there may be a sequel (and the likelihood of having the same cast is slim to none, which noooooo! I know it hasn't been confirmed, but still, breaks my heart when cdramas do this), and 2)this will end tragically and a male lead will die? All the best in advance, just mark a spoiler for other people because I gotta know. Thank youuuu :)

Correct me if I'm wrong... but I've looked several online sources and this series apparently has 68 episodes? I've seen 58 listed in one place beside from MDL, can anyone confirm or deny this? Thank youuu :)

This is truly one of the first times I went into a drama thinking all I wanted was to see the romance develop in this series, and now I'm seriously all about Xinger's gradual badassery on screen every time I watch this series. For real, I'm at this point where I just want her to see her rise as an independent, strong (as she already is), cunning, and thoughtful leader. Especially towards abolishing this slave system (which was already revealed in a plot description/seems like an obvious plot development). Zanila is killing/executing this role so well. I'm all about strong heroine leads, and this just... sets the damn bar for fearlessness. I'm so captivated by this series. I'm on episode 7 of Eternal Love and I just can't seem to jive with it (yet). But from moment one, and 15 episodes later I'm like... this just keeps getting better and better.

I swearssss this writer better give us some much needed Bong Hee and Ji Wook time after all this drama ends. Like if we get like .5 seconds of their happiness in episode 40... Imma flip tables.

OMGGG Bong Hee's father... it's so sad what happened to him... a shout out to him being super misunderstood <3 and all those years Ji Wook was brainwashed by that jerk DA's lies... THERE BETTER BE SO MUCH JUSTICE TOWARDS THE END OF THIS SERIES!!!!!!
