Yeah, animal involvement in such scenes can indeed be a touchy subject, but exactly because they know it will be, they always take extra care, like you said - stuntmen and trained horses.

I absolutely hate it when they breakup on last eps for no reason! Just that very thing recently ruined another certain drama with an anchor-nim as the ML for me! Like - whyyyy???????

Unfortunately, most romance dramas have the hated triangle and while I rarely have SLS, it's still soooo annoying to see the the person being all wish-y washy as to whom she'll choose ('cuz it's mostly MFM triangles).

Ah, yes, the stupid childhood connection. Nuff said.

And yeah - fast burn is well...mostly forced and thus no chemistry at all. So sad. (-_-)


Another thing I hate is the stupid break ups 'cuz of "misunderstandings" and "for their own good"...like....wtf people. TALK to each other!!! And don't assume someone will be better off without you, we all know what assume makes of you! The person would rather go thick and thin and be happy with you throughout it whereas be miserable without you!
Like, damn, nearly every drama has that crap, so annoying.

Ya know, right now I'm not even worried anymore whether it will air, it will (probably XD) sometime soon - what I want now is for them to also release all the cut scenes as a BTS or smt, 'cuz that's A LOT of material that they had filmed and now we won't see, worth several episodes.
I'm really curious to see all those bloody scenes they had to cut and reshoot around. Would be interesting to see what changes they had to make.
I know they tried their best to reshoot it so that the cuts won't ruin the storyline & I certainly hope it will be ok, but it's just sad how the whole censorship thing in China can ruin a drama and also how the work they had already put in won't even see the light of day and instead they had to work even more to reshoot it all.
Like, what I'm frustrated about is not that there are censorships, but that they keep changing them all the time and thus the drama people can't even know whether by the time the drama airs their work will be approved or they have to cut it so much it barely resembles the original or makes sense.
Fingers crossed that despite all the troubles The Wolf crew will make it work and the drama will be good!

We're also a damn faithful bunch - 3 years we have been waiting and haven't forgotten, & now already for over a months have been checking here daily to see what news there are XD

Hasn't that whole mess already been dealt with? It wasn't Xiao Zhan's fault to begin with and I heard talk that his lawyers finally intervened to stop those toxic "fans" from ruining XZ's works and throwing false accusations at him.

I saw the Mystic Nine last year and always thought should watch the rest of them as well. Chronological order is more to my liking and now with covid19, finally will have the time to dive into the series.

Xiao Zhan truly IS Wei Ying. It's rare to see an actor who so fully understands a novel/book character and portrays him perfectly.

Eh, I wish they had stayed with novel ending, that would've made it more clear as to what happened and been nicer too.
Actually....they really should've stayed closer to the novel overall - would've made it so much more meaningful and explain lots of things...oh well.
Still liked the drama, just...as always I suppose, book trumps the drama. I'll never understand why the script writers would mess up something that's already good.
At least Zheng Ye Cheng really did well as Fu Yiu Jun :D

I'm not that worried that the drama might be a flop, 'cuz when it was supposed to air 3 years ago, at that time we had some pretty good quality dramas coming out.
Can't say majority would've improved so well that this one would seem obsolete now. lolz, I think it will probably be on par with the best ones at these times as well.

Ah yes, the 4 main ones that always come up. Have seen them all. Each one is indeed slightly unique and portrays a different side to e-sports/gaming.

Gank Your Heart was, sadly, just ok to me - it got worse & worse towardst the end with certain annoying and unnecessary plot points T_T

The other 3 - loved them, each was great and have re-watched them:
Love O2O - is, at least to me, one of the best romances because the OTP is effing great - they do not doubt each other and actually talk, no stupid misunderstandings! The gaming was, of course, sort of a nice bonus in this case? XD
Go Go Squid - not gaming, but CTF like mentioned in the article. But it was cool nonetheless and of course, it's main focus - the romance - was adorable.
The King's Avatar - best. gaming. drama. EVERRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To me ^^

Cool, this kind of tests are interesting now and then to me 'cuz they may get some things right, and others not at all - like you said: us humans can be difficult to put into a box at times.
And I love it even more when the characters are just as realistic and difficult to place.

However: "A charisma that can kill"....got that right about Gwi 100% both figuratively and literally XD
