god i just want joe and sol to sail into the sunset together and live happily ever after. Sol is a ray of sunshine…
I think the writing for Joe is on point, there are people like that in real life. In the first episodes, when Ming does some red flag thing, we can see Joe's facial expression changing just for a second. He knows that Ming is a red flag, just not the level of crazyness. And even now that he knows, he can't stop wanting him. He is so in denial that he thinks the only reason he is back with Ming is for his mom. He told Sol that his feelings for Ming were dead. In the words of Selena Gomez "The heart wants what it wants".

Joe is such a liar... poor Sol even got his hopes up. That whole scene with his mom in the hospital was them telling us that Joe will pick Ming in every life, he already did. Counting this episode, that's two times Sol tells him that he can give him the money and Joe gives him a dumb excuse... Minutes later he was "sneezing" with Ming.
The series is brilliant because we can see past Joe's façade. I keep thinking, Ming never lied to Joe, he never told him he loved him, he showed him all his red flags (Minus the Tong thing, but even that, Ming said again and again that they weren't boyfriends and made Joe swear fidelity but he never did the same thing). Ming is a cold hearted bastard, but Joe knew that the whole time and stay with him anyway. Even after de kidnapping thing, he still had feelings for him.
And now people are asking Ming to be a different person that who Joe fell in love with... And people are asking Joe to not love Ming because he is a red flag when he knew it all the time.

In some of the scene when Joe look in the mirror we see different face...
Sometimes they show us Joe's real face so we don't forget that that's not his real body.

That’s a very interesting and quality series but I really do not get how to feel “awww” at that moment everyone…
I think we are so used to dumb BL plots that we don't even try to analyze things and just asume that they are stupid. Ming is a psycho and we keep expecting for him to do or to feel "normal" things. He didn't fell in love with a back, he fell in love at first sight with a person with his back turned. He thought that person was Tong and he just got obsessed with him. First, he transfered that obsession to Joe and then he actually fell in love with him. But he couldn't see beyond that sick obsession for Tong and did him wrong. That actually make sense to me.

okay so... isn't this supposed to be a bl because where's the love, there's only boys 😭😭😭 this seriously…
I actually am appreciating this dark BL. Love isn't always pretty. Love is a reflection of the person who loves and if Ming is an obsessive person, basically a psycho, we can expect his love for Joe to be picture perfect. Lets remember that, in his mind, he isn't doing any of these things to Joe, this person is Joe's stand-in, because his twisted mind can't cope with not having him. I'm not excusing any of the things he have done, he is walking red flag, all I'm saying is that as a viewer, I'm enjoying the ride.

I think Ming and Joe are more alike than we think. Let me explain: The show plays with our idea of power. We always thought that Tong had the upper hand against Ming. No, he never did, because what he really wanted was Ming's family money. His power was always given by Ming, he can't afford to be on his bad side. And then we have Joe, who gives his power to Ming because he loves him. He is letting Ming do all does things, he is perfectly capable of standing up for himself.

I like that they showed how other people reacted. It was akward to everybody, they didn't play it like it was totally normal for Ming to do that.

It does makes sense. The whole reason why they showed us all these people offering money to Joe is so we knew that he didn't have to accept Ming's deal. He wanted to. Because he can't stay away from Ming and that's the perfect excuse. Now he can say that he's doing it for his mother.

What many people don't notice is that Joe is not the average main lead, who doesn't know who their partner really is. And Ming isn't the average character either, he never told Joe that he loved him or even that they were boyfriends. Ming showed Joe many red flags and Joe still loved him. He knows very well who Ming is and he is an adult. He didn't even need Ming's money, he just want him.

There is a reason why the whole episode was people offering money to Joe. We needed it to see it, because we needed to understand that Joe didn't have to accept Ming's proposal. Joe is totally in love with him and Ming is going to feel it.
