Hi, how's the drama so far. Still deciding to watch it. Am not familiar with the FL but I have watched some of…
If you end up liking FL, check out Warm on a Cold Night. It’s a very cute, fun, funny fantasy historical drama.
She plays a sickly but clever official investigator who is treated poorly by all her coworkers/boss. She’s witty, brave (but not foolish usually), intelligent, driven, and wise.
I related a lot to the character due to my own chronic illnesses and lack of energy/mobility. I’d love to see more we’ll-written FLs or even SFLs with disabilities/chronic illnesses/etc in dramas, especially costume & fantasy dramas.
Ml is a werewolf of sorts…but not exactly. He’s pretty standoffish and disinterested towards Fl st first, but he relaxes as the story progresses.
It’s got some very touching scenes, a lot of humor, good chemistry between leads, really sweet mother-daughter relationship, a great supporting cast, and a kind of unique story for that type of drama.
It also has some interesting mysteries/criminal cases that the leads have to solve.
One other particularly nice aspect: a love triangle that’s the most wholesome I’ve ever seen in a drama. SML is endearing & heartwarming, but not grossly clingy or psychotically possessive. The relationship beteeen ML & SML is great☺️
And far as I recall there’s no horrible, stupidly jealous, bitchy SFL. It’s such a relief to get away from that sometimes🥹
It’s not high budget or revolutionary, but it’s a delightful little drama that truly will warm your heart.
WOACN was my first drama with LYT (Fl here) and i immediately became her fan.
Liu Xie Yi has never looked as gorgeous as he does in this drama.
I think he looks gorgeous in every role he does.
Whether a bald monk in TBOY, murderous prince in KMLM, broken immortal in AMBF, reserved nobleman in Blossom, or golden innocent celestial monarch in LNF he is always mesmerizing.
I really loved him Qing Luo even tho it’s lower budget.
His beauty and acting skills will always draw me in.
Liu Xue Yi looks in KILL ME LOVE ME is still THE BEST. Handsome, hot, sexy, and dangerous. His looks here is almost…
I’ve never paid anyone to do my taxes before….but if I found a someone looking like LYX who did that job, I’d be first in line to pay him for his services😅
Its not because it is a "women-led strategizing', its because the male lead does fit the beauty standard. For…
I find it rather bizarre & nonsensical to say “no one thinks LYY is drop dead gorgeous”.
Lots of fans find LYY irresistibly sexy & magnetically attractive. …. I’m one of them💜🙋🏼
Personally, I’m attracted to actors (Cdrama/Hollywood/etc). with all kinds of different looks.
Generally speaking, LYY, Shawn Dou, Tan JianCi, Ding Yu Xi, Deng Wei, Zhang Wang Yi, Ren Jialun, Xiao Zhan, Zhang Ruo Yun, Luo YunXi, Wang Duo, Zhang LingHe, Liu XueYi, Baron Chen, Alen Fang, Chen XingXu, Li HongYi, Zhang BinBin, Song Weilong, Wang Duo, Mark Chao, Gao Wei Guang, Li Yun Ri, Xiao Shunyao , Allen Ren, Chen Yi , Neo Hou, Dylan Wang, & Jeremy Tsui (To name just a few of my faves 🙃) don’t look much alike or have a preponderance of notably similar features/attributes.
Regardless, all are very aesthetically pleasing men (imo).
Each has his own unique charm & alluring attributes.
Idol/traffic actors are widely seen as top examples of gorgeous, sexy people.
LYY is no exception.
It makes sense some fans might be captivated by his singing but not rate his looks very highly.
In the same way, many fans (esp international fans) love his mesmerizing looks & acting talent while not caring much about his singing. Then there are those who find his looks, acting, & singing equally appealing.
So…. Since we all have our own individual tastes & definitions of what we find desirable or attractive, it seems awfully weird to claim there’s no one who ranks LYY as fantastically good looking.
LYY & Shawn Dou are both super hot (imo).
As the old saying goes: Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
We’re blessed to have so many different types of lusciously beautiful Cdrama actors to swoon over 🤞🏻🥰
Sorry, just realized I ramble wrote a whole-ass novel here. 🫣🫠
I randomly came across the donghua, completed it and also done reading the novel. i srsly cant wait for the drama…
Some donghua you might like:
No Doubt In Us
Psychic Princess
Are You Ok? (same author as How dare You!) think it might be BL coded…super funny transmigration story)
Cinderella Chef (Cdrama is decent too)
A Moment But Forever (no transmigration, but has an amazing, smart, silly at times FL & sweet/loyal/funny ML….prefer the story in the donghua to the Cdrama, but the Cdrama is quite good too)
Cinderella Chef ….. Concubine Walkthrough (web toon) …. Anime:
Apothecary Diaries
Raven of the Inner Palace
Why Raeliana Ended up In the Duke’s Mansion
I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss
My Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom
From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad is Reincarnated (No romance really, but it’s oh so funny and very wholesome. Premise sounds creepy but I promise you it’s not at all icky or perverse)
7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree t Married to Her Worst Enemy
Cdrama including Mini/short dramas:
Money is Coming (love this one!)
The Love Duel

Decreed by Fate
The Eternal Love S1, S2, S3 (a longtime fave, so cute!)
Sassy Beauty

Different Princess
Wrong Carriage, Right Groom

Love Better than Immortality
Queen of Attack s1, s2
Romance of Tiger & Rose

MY Queen
Please Don’t Spoil Me (S1-4)

My Dear Brothers
Dramatic Self Help Strategy
Oh My Lord
Oh My Emperor
Oh My General
Lol, I think i gave you a good starting list… hopefully you enjoy some of these!
Most are transmigration/time travel type stories, but a few are just good lighthearted romances with some fun twists/hidden identities.
I watched many of them on YouTube…some are also available on Viki & IQIYI.
I honestly and genuinely hope you never suffer from depression, physical chronic illness/pain, severe mental health issues, an eating disorder, or anything similar.
It’s all utterly horrific, destructive, isolating, unbearably painful, demoralizing, dehumanizing due to how stigmatized those things can be/how others treat those who suffer, and can lead to loss of life.
If you’ve never been thru any of that, you are blessed & fortunate.
I encourage you to not make a habit of being derisive and demeaning to/about others.
This life and world are already all too harsh, cruel, unfair, and lonely for a lot of folks.
Being secure in yourself and realizing all of us struggle & need compassion usually goes a long way towards not feeling the urge to put others down in order to make onself feel better.
We should lift others up and empathize/try to be understanding when they’re hurting…not make unkind remarks and judgements.
I hope to see him in more main lead roles because clearly he has that "IT" factor.
He’s not ML, but he seems to have a central role in the new drama Blossom. Airing on Tencent/WeTV and IQIYI currently.
I’ve watched 4ep. It’s really good so far!
I’m delighted to see XZG getting bigger roles.
I first saw him in Dashing Youth. He intrigued me immediately.
I’m almost done watching The SpiRealm now… didn’t know what to expect or if I’d like this type of drama, but it’s far exceeded my expectations on every level.
Ruan Lan Zhu & Ling Jiu Shi are now one of my fave MCs ever.
Their chemistry is on fire every second they share the screen. Each glance is laden with longing and emotion. Top tier True Love.
The fact they can both make their romantic feelings for each other so clear and intense to the audience despite heavy censorship really is a testament to these actors’ massive talents.
Can’t wait to see XZG in more main roles!
I hope his character in Blossom will have a lot of screentime.
They are haters.. if they like DC just watch DC.. why coming here to complain about it!? LOL nobody ask them to…
Yeah I don’t understand the bitterness tbh.
I really liked DC, couldn’t get into the animation style of Soul Labd S1, am not huge on the cgi/costumes in Land of Warriors…. BUT. I am still enjoying the story and acting.
Do I wish they did DC S2? Yes.
But will I be bitter and hate this based on liking DC? No!
Also, TBOY is one of my favorites yet I still got enjoyment out of the less overall impressive Dashing Youth.
People need to relax and enjoy what they can in this hard life withouts needlessly making it unpleasant for others.
Likely A Moment But Forever. And btw, I'm currently watching the A Moment But Forever donghua (anime) on iQIYI…
Thank you so much for making me aware of the donghua!
You’re absolutely right: It’s utterly beautiful, has great voice acting, such pretty environments & music, character design, good humor, and I’m loving the story.
I haven’t seen many 3D animation donghuas I felt were on part were more traditional types of animation. But this one really is.
I’m very much enjoying it🥰
I wasn’t familiar with the story before and only found out about the drama because I love LXY, but now I’m really excited for it to air.
This is not a diss at you at all, just literally stating fact, if you want ANYTHING to make sense here.... turn…
I was also 😳👀🤔 about some of those scenes passing censorship.
Same with a couple scenes (esp a VERY 🥵🔥 one in the first ep) in Kill Me, Love Me.
This new level of steaminess isn’t what I’m accustomed to in most of the CDramas I’ve watched over the last 6yrs or so.
Not that I’m complaining😅
Just was a bit surprised.
Still, I do hope Cdrama never devolve to the same level of graphic sexual content & explicit nudity as western/European/US media.
The focus on emotional intimacy & romance was one of the main reasons I originally became so enamored with CDramas.
I don’t mind when shows & movies have a bit of graphic content in them….but the tendency to use nudity & sex (particularly full female nudity & nothing-left-to-the-imagination sexual activity designed with the male gaze in mind) to convey romantic feelings/connection in lieu of emotional intimacy, actual romance, and the development of attraction/love has really put me off most newer shows & movies.
I have the Same issue with the horrible habit of writers incorporating graphic SA/physical abuse as a way to increase dramatic stakes or to give purpose & depth to (mainly) female characters😞
I can handle it if it’s tripe pertinent and done as tastefully as possible. But that’s usually not the case.
I saw one person mention Outlander in a comment above. I had to stop watching after S3 because I couldn’t take yet another of the frequent SA scenes.
Censorship isn’t great, of course. But if there’s one thing I appreciate about censorship in CDramas, it’s the exclusion of extremely graphic sexual & violence.
I’m good with the ♨️ level in Love in the Desert & Kill Me, Love Me.
Hoping the censorship doesn’t allow dramas to get too much more explicit than that🤞🏻
What are u watching now?
I’m almost done with Rise of Ning (🥰), 1/2 way thru Snowy Night, Timeless Love (🥺❤️🩹) 1/3 thru Kill Me, Love Me (😳💜) and i just started Fangs of Fortune (😍)
Highly recommended!! Enjoy! (I might try 'Romance on the Farm' for Joseph that I overlooked in 2023)
Omg, most of th elders in that family made me see red with their horrid actions.
Some scenes actually caused me to throw my pillows at my tv in rage😤😅
But despite that, it was a pretty good drama, imo.
I loved Joseph & especially TXW…individually they each were very likable, clever, resourceful, & playful characters. And together they were a super Cute couple🥰
The softer, almost lullaby-like song Joseph sings (You, Me) is one of my favorite OSTs.
I love the other version with Song Yuning too.
If people can handle the AWFUL family politics/fighting etc, I think they would generally really enjoy this drama. The slow burn romance is very sweet, all the acting is on point, has fully realized characters & world/story, and very pretty music. I particularly liked the smart, capable, inventive, & confident FL.
But mrrrrrr, those elders were unbelievably infuriating & terribly abusive.
The drama did an excellent job showing how abuse warps people and how it’s passed on generationally.
At least some of the worst fam members improved somewhat over time. And I’m glad the worst ones got their just desserts.
Watching them get a taste of their own wretched medicine was very satisfying 😌😅
This is not a diss at you at all, just literally stating fact, if you want ANYTHING to make sense here.... turn…
Ahahaha I’m 💀st your “what in the vampire diaries is going on here”
😂 So accurate.
I dunno, for being a soapy bodice ripper type story that leans heavily on aesthetics & steaminess at the expense of character development I found it decently entertaining.
It’s def not a realistic, well written drama. But I enjoyed it for what it was.
Not terribly keen on all the rape attempts tho. I might have liked SML if he wasn’t such a total creep. I found the rest of his character fairly interesting…unfortunately his predatory behavior ruined him for me. 😒😞
All the actors did a good job with what they were given…but, I hope all the main cast gets to be in some higher quality dramas after this pretty mess.
Where did you see the ending? iQIYI seems to have quit at episode 30, and the last 6 don’t appear on the MDL…
I don’t know either! They’ve been so weird with days where they don’t drop any new episodes.
It’s been frustrating, to say the least.
I feel badly for everyone in the drama.
This could’ve been one of the all time great xianxias for me if the production hadn’t been rushed & so choppy in places, it had been promoted much better, and if the writers gave proper time to fully explore all the tantalizing mysteries/backstories that explain how the characters got to where they are now and what happened to the previous generation.
I would love to see a drama being made of the older generation’s stories.
I prob will begrudgingly wait til IQIYI drops the rest of the eps on their platform.
I don’t have a working laptop or PC right now. Mostly watch CDramas on my Tv on Netflix, Prime, Roku apps ( IQIYI, Viki, YT).
I don’t really like watching on my tablet or phone unless I’m traveling and can’t use a tv.
So waiting is what I’ll be doing until IQIYI gets their act together and releases the rest of the episodes🥹

Decreed by Fate,

all have the same actress.
She’s a riot.😂
Not afraid to act in very silly roles or look less than perfectly
