I never subbed to Youku before but I didnāt want to wait or gamble on Netflix maybe picking it up so I gave in and got a monthās subscription just to watch TEF.
Still, Iād be happy if it does well enough to come to Netflix.
I am loving it. It is my antidote to The First Jasmine. I am thoroughly enjoying this couple and having so much…
Thatās so funny, I canāt believe Iām watching and enjoying a modern drama with LHFā¦I almost exclusively watch costume & fantasy/wuxia. š
Rosy Clouds is generally a super silly and light romcom. I read subtitles so the dubbing hasnāt bothered me much. I donāt really like the VA for Li Yitong here, but itās become tolerable after a few episodes.
Iām mainly enjoying the eye candy of Deng Wei, Joseph Zeng, Tian JiaRui, Riley Wang, and Cheng Hong Xin.
lol
There are lots of funny moments and cute ones too.
Itās not too heavy or serious.
Dai Lu WAās character is really funny.
Itās not the best drama but itās def not the worst either.
It was unbearable for me at the beginning too and I went into this not liking Esther very much. Ended up being…
I watched when it first came out. Had been watching Cdramas since 2018-2019.
Her voice really grated on me at first but Iām a sucker for fantasy so I continued.
Eventually I accepted it as part of her character and noticed it lessened in intense childishness as the drama progressed.
I ended up loving this drama. Itās in my all time favorites.
Rewatching it now and Iām not bothered a bit by her voice.
Funny how things can change. Letting go of ingrained prejudices can be hard and some people Might not be able toā¦but imo doing so can lead to some wonderful experiences.
They both ick me out SO badly. Like, Jun isnāt bad looking and has some decent qualitiesā¦but he ruins all…
Right?
Omg, hadnāt gotten to the bday dinner scene yet.
The mom is UNBEARABLE.
Rude af about DYās employment position and place of origin.
Where TH does she get off being so high n mighty? Not like their family is rich, especially dignified, or her son has some stellar high paying professional career.
Now shesās shouting across the table being loud and dramatic?
No wonder DY bolted.
Frankly Iām shocked she went to Junās house for his bday at all.
Ugh. I donāt have a single nice thing to say about this crazy woman.
The dad doesnāt have much of a spine, but at least he seems like a more reasonable and easygoing person who only spies on his son to go along with his controlling wife.
I wish the writers wouldnāt make DY end up with Ju nā¦but we know thatās the plan. š®āšØ
Younger men with not much media literacy or understanding of how to form healthy relationships with women watch this kind of nonsense and take it to heart believing if they stalk, pressure, and coerce a girl she will eventually cave and theyāll have a happily ever after.
I was glad when DY told Jun off and laid out his unappealing issues. But now itās like that scene didnāt happen.
Maybe I should skip the scenes with Jun/his mom to preserve my sanityš„²
I can't stand Jun Cheng and his raggedy ass Mother
They both ick me out SO badly.
Like, Jun isnāt bad looking and has some decent qualitiesā¦but he ruins all of them with his creepy stalking, pushover mamaās boy shtick, not having a sense of whatās appropriate in public (shouting, touching over n over after being told no, and embarrassing DY with his extreme fan behavior), and ignoring his job to go talk to his mom.
Come on dude. No woman in her right mind is going to find that stuff attractive or acceptable.
Donāt get me started on his mom.
I have a 19yr old son and it makes me feel sick to imagine treating him like that, invading his privacy, and trying to control his every step in life. GAG. I could NEVER.
Donāt care what anyone says or how low they rate this drama.
The main couple is HILARIOUS and so wholesome.
I absolutely love them & their interactions.
Today watching him tuck her in, mimic her pouting in her sleep, and giving her the teddy to sleep with was adorable.
Then the debacle with his ruined shirt buttons and his sad attempt at sewing had me cackling.
Modern dramas arenāt usually my thing, but I donāt see myself getting tired of their dynamic or not wanting to see more of their love development anytime soon.
Sadly, I think Yu Menglong playing a prominent role as part of the main cast is a much bigger obstacle in the way of us ever seeing its release š
He stole one of my comments from Reddit.
I was shocked and initially kind of amusedā¦but I also found it disingenuous and rude.
I reported as offensive also.
Didnāt really expect anything to happen.
He erased his comment he stole from me because I replied and called him out with a link to my older original comment.
Still, Iām glad to see he may be banned.
Stealing comments to pass of as your own is such unnecessary, bizarre behavior.
Still, Iād be happy if it does well enough to come to Netflix.
I also think JJY is doing a great job as FL.
Editing has been kinda wonky in a few spots but like you said, really not that terrible.
Mostly itās been very enjoyable so far.
Who wouldnāt?
š„°
Immediately had the same thoughts about TEF after a few episodes.
Iām enjoying it, but then again, Iām always a sucker for this type of xianxia.
Heās made every effort to become a better man on her behalf.
One of the most swoon-worthy MLs ever.
šš
He never showed the slightest romantic interest in her.

Iāve loved the show up til now but Iām dreading it rn.
LHF and Rosy Clouds have been my stress relievers.

I think as a mom with a son Iām extra repulsed by her behavior.
It reminds me of those creepy self proclaimed āboy momsā.

For sure the dinner scene was also my last straw.
I legit didnāt think I could loathe her moreā¦how wrong I wasš
Iām in solidarity with u for skipping that nonsense from here on out.

He plays a masked Dr in Legend of Rosy Clouds.
Funny enough I guessed it was him just from seeing his eyes thru the mask.
He has very distinctive features and unique eyes.
He also has a special presence that came thru even though he wears a mask as Jiang.
I thought he was super hot in My Journey To You.
Love to see him get more exposure and higher quality roles.
