You are actually 100 right in what you wrote. Too many of Indians who leave India and who bitch about India. To the point I had to face extreme racism outside of India. To me a lot gets missed out of proper depiction in media. Example how bloody and visceral and painful childbirth it. All they show is a woman screaming and then a baby. That’s not how it is. Also old age or pain. These are “ugly but necessary part of human experience.”
On the opposite side you have intimacy. Which is meant to be beautiful, passionate and make you feel alive. Whether you do it with someone you love, whatever your identity is. And these should be shown too. But somehow people have a problem with this.
But what we get and what is not a part of everyday experience is scenes and scenes of violence. Then no one complains that it’s unnecessary gratification on screen.

I am happy with anything as long as it’s not an old dude romancing a super hot young girl. Or the quintessential teenage romances boy and girl we keep having. I am tired and fed up of it completely.
