......please realise how disgusting what you just said is
Obesity is not an illness. Itās a side effect of illness like thyroid issues, PCOS, Asthma (people with asthma have to take life saving steroids which makes them fat), pregnancy (especially if the woman had to take progesterone shots to stabilise the foetus or preeclampsia), depression which reduces insulin response and many more. They the fat people donāt need derision (which this drama is doing) but concern (I agree with you that it puts people life at risk) and compassion.
People, it's this your first time in Korean dramas?Korean culture is extremely fatphobic, always has been and…
Yeah I agree. I was shocked at how blatant it was. I donāt know why some people in the comments are trying to justify the fat phobia. Anyways I donāt want to bother commenting anymore on this here on this page, because certain individuals are coming after me with pitchforks. Itās not my fight anyways. Like I said before I am slim and have never struggled with any eating disorders (over eating or under eating) or body dysmorphia or body image issues in my entire life, so I will leave it to the āwhomsoever it may concernā people to judge.
You know the saying right ? Itās not what you say itās how you say it. If they are shown that the fat person…
One example, violence against women happens in real life. Does not mean books and movies need to show r@pe in graphic detail. And when they do they put trigger warnings. There is something very gratuitous in how they are showing the scenes. I cannot put my finger on it, but it seems that the director and writer themselves are fatphobic and itās translating on screen. In glory the bullying was shown in a way which made us sympathise with the main character and in my humble opinion that scene was beautifully done. This drama is showing in a very crass way. Lots of other people are feeling the same way when they are watching this drama. You can see posts on Reddit on this topic.
Why is this drama so fat phobic? Itās very distressing to watch. And I am not fat (I have a BMI of 19 or 20 I think). Even then I got disturbed. For people with full figures this drama should come with trigger warnings. Itās very not done at all.
Wishing to be 60 because you would be technically old is the ageist way of thinking that you supposedly despise.…
I literally said all older people I know have excellent health and are happy and have loads of money. Did you not read? All I am saying is that in this life being not so young, but being youngish and also not old is super hard on mental health especially with this economy and diminished earning prospects. Thatās literally what this actress herself is also saying in this article and I am validating her.
I am about her age maybe a couple of years older. The thing is when you are in your twenties, thirties seems old. But when you are in your mid thirties you realise how young you are since you have so many years to go given how long human beings live these days. But the professional prospects keep diminishing because people are ageist. Itās the worst place to be when you are young given you have decades left to work and feed yourself and your family. But society thinks you are getting older so those jobs donāt come easily. Sometimes I wish I was 60 because then I would be technically old, and would have enough saved to not worry. This time between 35 to 55 is the worst when you have decades in front of you, but diminished prospects if you did not make it big before you are 35. Rather be old or rather be young. All old people I meet are full of relief because they are dealt with all the nonsense life brings and most old people I know are either dead or have very good health and very good savings, so just chilling and enjoying life.

You are right, malena was the other one I found a lot of similarities to. Gosh malena was hard hitting and disturbing I hope this one does not get so bad.

Now I know, the wronged woman who everyone hates, but who men desire. The setting is a very moralistic, judgemental small town where desirable women are hated and feared. One sympathetic character who is very morally grey himself. I remember madame bovary did not end very well for madame bovary. I donāt know how this one will end though
yes and he was fighting his sexual desires by pouring water over himself..in the novel novel it was way more intense.spoiler..later…
I think itās more like fighting with the good wolf and the bad wolf inside of you. He will show growth. Also sex@al attraction is dealt with quite frankly in Chinese dramas unlike Korean dramas and I appreciate that.
