no better no worse revenge/school drama
I can see a lot of wasted potential here... It's got a lot of ingredients to keep this entertaining, but also it's got a lot of tropes, and not all of them done right!I read a lot abt episode 6 & the turnover it brings. Indeed, there is something to it, but its aftermath not good enough if you ask me. Like someone said, two narratives are stuck together in an artificial way, as if the director received too many complaints from viewers for the story being boring and decided to add some action to it!
So, its a (student - teacher) romance + revenge (?) drama after all, and - hopefully - love wins and revenge is forgotten by the end.
Abt cast: i really think the weak spot is the FL, not the ML as many viewers said. The FL is really boring for wearing the same outfit and same facial expression all the time. While the ML is quite in the character, and though he might look more mature - which i didnt notice - it's not unusual for teens to look so. I've seen teens looking old and adults looking like teens, so this is not a concern for me while watching this.
My objection is to the plot itself, logic seems sometimes gone to the drain while cheap tropes keep recurring... Like, good ppl are in fact the creepy ones and vice-versa? Smh

you wont regret watching this
It's a shorter drama than others, but you dont get the feeling that it's too short or flimsy... The story and characters - a misunderstood bully falling for his victim - are incredibly nuanced and the illusion of life is there. I liked almost every bit of the drama. Of course, the young actors are such cuties. Totally a fun ride.The last episode though is weird... I'm not sure what the director was thinking, but i guess he/she tried to make love not a sexual thing, and loving same gender not a sexual matter, but a matter of the heart - which is not realistic, but perhaps idealistic - in a wrong way i'd say. I personally refuse to buy this idea that many BL dramas are trying to promote, that any straight person can fall in love with someone regardless of gender... It's so not true, acting against your biological instinct will never make you happy!
Otherwise a very good drama.

this is a dirty manga
When two HANDSOME guys get employed at a new company, they randomly obsess over the ugly girl to use and abuse. She gets to sleep with both of them without much bother - being somehow retarded, because to be a wh*re would take more of a personality - and maybe some good-looks, which she totally lacks. Professionally she is still excellent (seriously??). But the pretty girl in the company gets angry for being left aside and tries to interfere. The ex-gf also comes into picture. This is what i get from this popcorn miniseries...The ML has a fetish for public sex, he is always ready and lustful. The SML is not far from this either. They must have been trapped on a desert island before running into the FL! Oh, and they all visit the SAME bar - and the bar is ALWAYS empty, not even one customer beside our characters!!
... It totally reminds me of Dori and his smut characters. Kisses are hot too!
As they say, it's so bad that it's good.

very good if you dont mind the cliché happenings
It is very deep rooted in the Korean school of drama this mixture of comedy and melodrama... Add the sensational factor and you have the picture. So you get "an emotional ride" that i'm really not a fan of, since it's kinda cheap in my humble opinion.This drama is a collection of tropes, but the actors magnificently carry them - and i mean ALL actors, that are as talented as they are good-looking. We get time travel, Joseon costumes, tragic love, betrayal, rivalry, humorous characters, tragic characters... and many other tropes that - i regretfully confess - my vocabulary and cultural knowledge fail to name.
A special mention for the Queen - the actress playing her is one of the best in the world of drama, either considering the big picture or the smallest detail. Still the "man" inside her body - which i'm a fan of - fails to impress in the few episodes he makes an appearance. I blame the director for this...
I recommend this to everyone, though it's kinda slow at times.

lighthearted and comfy
As viewers noticed already, it's a filler drama. The action is slow, the camera work is pleasant, the actors look pretty, fashion is nice too... We get another variation on overbearing CEO - sweet innocent secretary trope. The pace is reallllyyy slow towards the end, with a lot of staring and day-dreaming. One weird thing is that, beside the lighthearted bubbly main plot, we get a dark melodramatic second plot... and this goes on more or less till the end.The villain is so cartoonish that you cannot but pity him.
I really wish they had made it less boring.

"it all happens bcuz im so handsome" trope??
This drama had great potential and its engaging in so many ways and conveys so many positive messages, but - and its a big BUT - it also sends the wrong message, like: YOU ONLY MATTER FOR YOUR LOOKS... Almost all characters in this drama point out now and then HOW HANDSOME/ CUTE the protagonists are, like this is an important DRIVING force in the society, though we dont talk CATWALK, we talk NORMAL SCHOOL COLLEGE AND WORKING LIFE!? For gods sake, if i have to be a young and handsome student in fine arts just to wash dishes, then the entire world can go to hell!Also, we only get two types of women: the hateful scheming clingy one, and the straightforward, boyish, drinking-partner woman (at young age and at older age) - but the latest hardly ever presents interest as a woman, right? Are women ever so lame?
Too bad those ppl behind the screen got it all wrong.

Almost 10 but still
It's certainly one of the best Thai dramas in the BL category and not only. Excellent cinematography, entertaining plot, handsome guys, bad guys lol... It's got almost everything to perfection BUT for a few aspects: product placement is way too obvious!! Either it's toothpaste, drinks, cars... things are always pushed into our face. Also, everybody is dressed quite the same and everybody has an artistic side, like painting and playing the guitar. The dancer girl always wears the same pair of pants! Some scenes are really cringey: the policeman cries while being painted nude etc.The actors are very talented, no doubt. The 1st ML is the best by far. The 2nd ML - the one playing twins - is not subtle enough. He should've made the differences more refined, not so obvious. Like that constant scared look and crying eyes while trying to be the bad guy!? Im also a bit put off by seeing the same actors doing BL movies, cant you please make some changes for a while? Are we seeing the same movie again?
Watch it despite its flaws, it's still at the top.

too many twists to hold up together
I dont wanna spoil it for the viewers, but i definitely feel like this series played with the SHOCKING factor too much. Like, did the audience rating drop? No probs, we add something new that no one expects!It starts pretty boring and clumsy, i fast-forwarded through the 1st episode, then it all became quite clear, with a lot of remarkable graphic violent but still cinematographic scenes and a lot of interesting problematic characters... Then the tension kept building to the point of exploding... Then? The action took a weird course, like - let's give the viewers a scare so they keep watching!! For me, the screenwriter and the director pushed their luck too far, to the point it became incredulous.
Otherwise, i do appreciate the original plot, the acting skills of the cast, the detail-orientated cinematography etc.
Still i think it could've been way more rounded.

another fluffy chinese romcom
Very timeless romance, and i say it not as a compliment... It's certainly not modern enough for being aired in 2024! I enjoyed it without skipping much, in-between other dramas, BUT it's totally NOT something you can take seriously. The ML and FL look good and are funny enough for a light-hearted series, the topic is there, decent job etc.Packed with tropes though, to the point that some are bothersome. What chances are that the young aspiring FL lawyer gets to share "by accident" a rent house with her famous ML boss? Also it comes out that their parents are ex-colleagues? Add to this that everyone - and i mean EVERYONE - in this drama is young and single? Except for the two pairs of parents, of course. Fake problems appear too - the ML is overprotective while the FL is too upright etc. Both sisters suffer from being called LadyBoss... REALLY?? Can i suffer with you??
My personal objection is also to the MANY ENDLESS outfits the FL is wearing... How come a young aspiring average lawyer can afford to be sooo sooo fashionable? And another personal objection to chinese dramas - everyone looks ANOREXIC, to the point that the FL is described as weighing 40 kg to a height of 1.66m!! Come again??

umm sorry whats it all about?
The political plot, the names and all the scheming are quite hard to follow honestly... I was expecting more action, i.e. fight scenes, but the prosecutor in this movie cannot fight!The bad guy who takes all the credit for this movie doesnt play anything spectacular, he just changes his looks according to the social status and thats it. The gore scenes dont add to the value of the movie... Honestly, something doesnt add up here. I got the general idea, good guys and bad guys striving to get their hands on some important compromising papers, easy women entertaining the rich - and what else? Some bromance developing in the process, right? And we should just wow at the thought that the prosecutor and the hoodlum become friends... Wow NOT! Just another trope...
Watch and imagine how good it couldve been if saved by grace! Which is not the case...

heartfelt 10
Though not perfect by far , this drama deserves a 10 for:1) actors' genius acting, 2) convincing - realistic to the very detail - settings, also a FAB sense of fashion, with that 80's vibe, 3) original idea. You could swear this one just aired, it's got an incredibly modern look!
It starts as a comedy, and totally fun! But then it turns into melodrama, which is less convincing... Still the old trope of Cinderella - Cold Prince gets a fresh approach, which is quite catchy. The ML is - for once - a sensitive caring human being, not a heartless CEO, and the FL is very natural with her boyish look!
I disapprove of taking lies too far though...
The second couple is annoying/boring and gets too much screen time. The three Princes from the Cafe are another story - very loveable.
Towards the end it seriously drags, with the 2-yr separation of lovers and all.
I would rewatch the first half anytime.

some details save this average drama
That is, actors are charming, the plot has got almost everything - action, romance, revenge, secrets. The wine-industry theme is also original, and cinematography is good.BUT it certainly lacks some COURAGE to be special, it dwells comfortably on old tropes. The first episodes were fun, but the comedy was soon dropped.
I skipped through dragging parts, many of them.

too much is too much
What starts like an original and powerful story with a lot of expensive technical support, soon becomes a real mess, with too many killers - about 7? - and rapists and whatever... Im sure the director wanted to make it big, so he/she kept taking out of his sleeve all kind of tropes and twists.The cast was great - especially supporting parts, acting was on point, but the FL was not the best choice, and also the young villain was better than the mature one. No chemistry between the FL and the ML.
Kinda like a lakorn, but more polished.
Had they toned it down, it could have been a gem.

not coherent & absolute mess
this drama was great until it turned into an absolute MESS! it's like the scriptwriter was fired and a new one took his/her place, because the fantastic/horror plot is totally OUT OF PLACE, and the drama lacks COHERENCE. it is only the cast - mainly the ML - that saves this drama, otherwise its a complete disaster, dont bother to find any logic in it...so, since everybody is giving this a perfect TEN, let me point out its flaws! 1st, the GENDER BALANCE is totally off!! we only get to meet 3-4 DECORATIVE women to a lot of men? the stuntmen team, the shareholders team , the filming crew, the cousin, the secretary... ALL MALE!? as for women, its just our FL, her friend, her rival, and the popping-now-and-then doctor... women in this drama - or whatever - always wear shorts/mini/tights, so i swear ive never seen the woman more as AN OBJECT till now. is this SOFT P*RN or what? (oh its mostly women in p*rn, this must be reverse)
2nd, we have a lot of DRAMA QUEENS, like the FL, the stuntmen boss, and that Oska guy who looks like an alcoholic and also quite old for the part!
3rd, everyone is overreacting. Going by the logic, why keep it simple if it can get complicated? two mature & single ppl like/love each other, but it gets difficult for NO reason?
puhhlease spare me the drama!
i feel like the team - director + scriptwriter - got scared of the initial love plot, since it was getting quite intense! !

wasted potential
It could have been a great drama, with a challenging topic - sex as a form of liberation for women trapped in an unhappy marriage - and a bunch of handsome & talented actors/actresses , but it ended up a total mess. First, the FL seems void of emotions, she just changes partners but doesnt feel love... Second, characters indulge in extramarital affairs like it's something normal. People of different age and condition act shallow, despite posing as artists.A gloom vibe is what this drama gives off. Characters are not free, they are adrift and not knowing it.
