this lakorn is abt jealousy mainly - though it somehow looks more like revenge. as many watchers pointed before, ML is cruel towards FL beyond normal, he abuses her verbally and physically, humiliates and insults her, locks her up and shuts her friends off, repeatedly tries to rape her until finally succeeds, then tries again with or without success (even felt sorry for this guy having so much desire and not being able to quench it!). ML is a perfect sadist, kind at night and totally carried away by love, and cruelest at daytime. FL matches him perfectly - innocent, tearful, totally at his mercy.............................................................gorgeous cast though... should watch just for this!! chemistry is top too... acting a bit overdramatic, but matches the plot.
dont't make the mistake to compare to real life though LOL.

pushing myself to watch this nonsense
I came to watch this following the excellent reviews i read, BUT honestly i wonder if i was watching the same drama?? The pace is sooo totally boring and nonsensical, and i'm also not a fan of the supernatural element - like having glimpses of the future - and not even done right! The quality of the video sucks, i've seen better movies from the 90's... the image is washed out for memories and also for present times duhh. The plot also gives an outdated vibe.If you can survive past the fourth episode, it might get better... not perfect, but better. Still you have to put up with a lot of nonsense just to be able to realize the power of love - its always abt love, isnt it?
Support cast does a great job, even better than the main flow sometimes.

wake me up when its over
i might not find enough words to fill the compulsory space for a review, since it's not much to say abt this one! just a bunch of pretty faces walking around and pretending to live intensely while make-up is always in place. umm... did i miss anything? again, actors r pretty. fashion is ok. settings dont look cheap. did i say cast looks good? that's quite it.you must be reaaaaallly reaaaaallly bored to watch this t-drama.

realistic & catching
Not your typical lakorn in any way, i'd say the american influence is strong... Very fresh view on love, as unconventional as BL can be.The actors are also quite common-looking - but not by far boring! They are NATURAL and FRESH to the point you might believe you watch a reality show! Kudos to the director who spotted their potential... They are unbelievably gifted and sooo engaging! The cast is the strongest point of this drama, which also has the quality of keeping things simple - nothing over the top. Everybody can relate to this slow-paced teen story, and i mean - everybody, since the young actors succeed in conveying a lot of emotions with just their eyes and expressions...
I give this drama a 10 for the pure love of the fragile-but-strong Mark and the unbelievably-not-shallow Vee, and also for the rest of the cast, that succeeds in depicting a not perfect but serene college life. Excellent!

funny BL drama
One aspiring actor and skinny model ML is trying hard to make ends meet, so he joins a cooking contest without having any knowledge abt cooking... Here starts a comedic journey with a strict - and oh so handsome! - chef and the clumsy apprentice in a mouth-watering environment, sensually dominated by basil.There is a lot of sexual tension, sexual innuendo and - thank god - more mature scenes. The settings are really pleasant to the eyes, the camera movement is flawless and there is a realistic touch to the story, that many recent dramas miss big time.
Of course, nothing new or unpredictable - i guess half of the romance drama should have the tag "ex comes back"... Also quite everybody is gay, that's a given for BL dramas. But still it's very enjoyable and funny and hot!

Later edit: I personally dont like how most comedies turn into melodrama... and cliche too. But who cares? The two ML'2 are just so pretty!

are we all here for the soft core?
This drama is what summer calls for... hot and uncomplicated. Well, it might aspire to look "complicated" by the traumas and supposed depth of characters, but for regular drama-watchers these are just the go-to cliches to make it spicier...So here we have two flirtatious guys who meet in the gorgeous setting of Thai beaches and develop a love interest with sensual scenes. Everybody is well-off, good-looking, single & willing. The acting is exaggerated but i guess the entire drama is not to be taken seriously. The ML is great at playing a sex-bomb guy.
Joking abt buying a person merely for s*x would be way funnier if Thailand hadnt been reputed as a s*x destination.
The sense of fashion is also weird, the skinny guy looks like a male pimp from the suburbs of Paris in the 70's.
Whoever gives this a 10 is not thinking with his/her mind lol.

fluffy... the good way
I'm totally in love with both the ML and FL and also with the rest of the cast! Such a nice relaxing sunny journey - though tropes are there, but who cares? A lesson abt love and humanity... all done right. Visuals are flawless, nice landscapes, nice cityscapes, nice rooftop - yes, the famous South Korean rooftop is present here too.Acting is also flawless, cant think of anything better. The action and delivery have a lot of flesh to them, obviously this is an exquisite production.
If i were to find any flaw, it's this obsession of Korean dramas for achieving perfection. Everything is so rounded, everything falls into place - far from real life by a million light-years.
And also... why is everyone an orphan?? Both the ML and the FL are orphans raised by a kind granny who dies by the end of the series. So, at 25, they are the oldest in the family line. Seriously??
I would certainly rewatch anytime.

you wont regret watching this
It's a shorter drama than others, but you dont get the feeling that it's too short or flimsy... The story and characters - a misunderstood bully falling for his victim - are incredibly nuanced and the illusion of life is there. I liked almost every bit of the drama. Of course, the young actors are such cuties. Totally a fun ride.The last episode though is weird... I'm not sure what the director was thinking, but i guess he/she tried to make love not a sexual thing, and loving same gender not a sexual matter, but a matter of the heart - which is not realistic, but perhaps idealistic - in a wrong way i'd say. I personally refuse to buy this idea that many BL dramas are trying to promote, that any straight person can fall in love with someone regardless of gender... It's so not true, acting against your biological instinct will never make you happy!
Otherwise a very good drama.

Pong rediscovered himself
...Or some wise director rediscovered Pong. Because this veteran actor, who i'm a fan of, never looked better. His acting is glorious, and so are his looks - he totally looks no older than 30. How did that happen? I've wondered for a bit but decided that i dont care, he just looks young and handsome and totally into the character...The FL is good enough, nothing spectacular, nothing to blame in particular. It's the ML who carries the show. The secondary cast is spot on, though - again - nothing remarkable. Maybe a mention for the villain.
The lakorn is back!! The old tropes - girl in debt, misunderstandings, saving the girl, macho man etc - are all here, but they are done beautifully. Modern touch? Of course, but in a shallow way... We still get the same wrist-grabbing and woman abuse and primary vs secondary wife, but who cares? We're here for the tropes! Less angst than expected though.
Dont expect realism - our heroes fall off the cliff and not a single hair is out of place! And they wake up to a tropical paradise too, with food, water, fire, a knife (!) and love-making...
I enthusiastically give this a 10 !

it's got everything BUT romance!
This one is really entertaining... hardly a dull moment now and then! It has everything viewers could wish for - handsome actors and actresses, action, twists, comedy, melodrama... The balance between comedy and tragedy is unbeatable! The pace is good, fighting scenes got excellent choreography, actors are flawless! The ML and the FL are both gorgeous... BUT everyone in this drama is single and lonely! I admire the fact that the priest was all along true to his calling and never ever swayed, BUT how can no one in this drama have a family or at least some slight romantic interest??As most watchers previously noticed, the funniest thing is Father Kim getting angry: he throws a fit, breaks things and beats people left and right! The female prosecutor is also good (on my new favourites list)! And the villains are totally charismatic!
This being said, it's still one of the best dramas out there, period.

Im really happy i came across this drama... It literally has got everything! A lot of handsome guys - in a totally innocent way i'd say - but also with huge talent. The plot is entertaining, side action is too. Nothing too dark nothing too shallow. The chemistry of both couples is unbelievable! I dont know who to praise more... the mature teen falling for the gangster, the gangster whos a math prodigy, the short guy acting like a rag doll when drunk, the introvert young gangster... So heartwarming and serene. Im totally in awe!Also, it's so beautifully filmed, but in a discreet, nothing-too-obvious manner, and dialogues are not too much, not too little!
Masterpiece if you ask me!
Taiwanese cinematography doesnt cease to amaze me.
Rewatch? You bet!

touching love story as realistic as it is crazy
Definitely a must watch, though it's Cinderella story again - but so nicely executed that it feels totally new. The ML and FL were so much into the character, and the supporting cast was also exceptional! A lot of handsome faces too... The interiors and fashion and buildings - everything looked seductive. They even overdid it sometimes!Of course - there are tropes and cheesy moments. The ML saves the helpless FL in the rain, he kneels down to propose with the diamond ring and all etc. But dont let these bother you, the entire drama is charming and i enjoyed its slow pace almost all the time.
Little short of being genius - if u ask me.
The immersion into the japanese culture and cinematography is a bonus.

glory of tropes done well
While i totally enjoyed this - at least for the first half or so, because it started to feel too long after that - i still dont get the logic behind comedy-turned-melodrama and i-met-my-true-love-in-kindergarten clichés/mannerism.The actors look good - i know a few of them from other works - , the camera work is at its best, but the drama somehow becomes nonsensical and dragging. The 2nd couple could've been WAY better than it actually is, but instead we get a bunch of tropes, like unexpected pregnancy, clingy parents that hunt down the first guy their daughter brings home, one-night-stand turned into responsibility etc. How big the probability is that the accidental "lover" gets to discover the pregnancy before his gf?? Dropping the pregnancy test here and there where anyone can find it is such a cheap trick... Havent we moved on from the glorious era of lakorns at all??
Again, it's a really nice watch, too bad it couldnt step outside the crowd.

a bunch of handsome lads walking around
I dont quite get it how all these handsome lads got born in the first place, since everybody around here is either gay or les, even the mother of the ML!The narrative is hardly there, just some fake problems popping up to keep the story going, say: I've never heard of universities according or retracting scholarship based on the job/ personal life of their students. The 2nd ML - the 1st host - is not up to the character, and the hairy guy in a dress is simply grotesque. All those pumped up guys are softies at heart and cry easily.
Honestly, it's not much to see here. Oh, maybe just the muscular torsos flashing under different excuses, like sharing a bathtub. Some steamy kisses, some implied dirty lil things - a handjob and a threesome... all under the umbrella of "free love". And of course the "traditional" product placements!
Big waste of time.

lighthearted and comfy
As viewers noticed already, it's a filler drama. The action is slow, the camera work is pleasant, the actors look pretty, fashion is nice too... We get another variation on overbearing CEO - sweet innocent secretary trope. The pace is reallllyyy slow towards the end, with a lot of staring and day-dreaming. One weird thing is that, beside the lighthearted bubbly main plot, we get a dark melodramatic second plot... and this goes on more or less till the end.The villain is so cartoonish that you cannot but pity him.
I really wish they had made it less boring.
