Idol I also climbed back to #9 on Netflix Global ranking (Non-English) with 800,000 views! I'm glad it managed…
I loved Idol I. It’s especially impressive considering it’s available on Netflix in only a limited number of countries. In my country, it’s only available on Viki.
I absolutely loved the first two episodes. The baby is unbelievably adorable, and both the ML and FL are so easy to like. It’s a perfect start—really hoping they don’t mess it up going forward.
Episodes 1–2 were solid, episodes 3–4 were excellent and really raised the stakes, but 5–6 felt like pure filler. And what’s the deal with that new gumiho character? Completely unnecessary.
I’ve read the manhwa, but I haven’t watched the first two episodes. Based on the comments, I think I’ll skip it. They changed the manhwa and also I’m not a fan of shows where the characters drink excessively.
As for the pregnancy issue—come on. We barely ever see pregnancy portrayed in K-dramas, yet people are already calling it “propaganda.” So what if she’s pregnant? That’s completely fine. Honestly, I actually miss this trope.
I also miss seeing a FL who is just as warm, loving, and caring toward the ML as he is toward her. But from what I’ve read in other comments, that doesn’t seem to be the case here, since she’s portrayed more as an antagonist toward the male lead.
I really liked the first two episodes. They clearly set up the obstacles the ML has to overcome first, and next it will be the FL’s turn. It’ll be fun to watch how these two characters slowly fall in love—how the ML gets past his hatred for her because of what she did, and how the FL comes to accept her ordinary human condition.
I don’t understand the ratings at all; they’re way too low. Maybe it’s just some LR fans hating on the actors’ other projects.
i see 2 Ml's and 1 fl is this going to be a love triangle?
Another love triangle? 😢 They already ruined Dynamite Kiss with that unnecessary mess, and there’s not even any mystery—everyone knows the FL will end up with the ML anyway. Why can’t they use the formula from A Business Proposal more often, with two independent couples?
I'm at ep 18 and I really hope it doesn’t drag on for more episodes. I’m at the point where I can’t stand watching her get all flustered and sad every time she sees the SML.😢
This show is pretty good. The ML is perfect 😍 and I even kind of feel bad for SML. But I’m starting to lose patience with the FL. If I’d known that by the midpoint of the series we’d still be stuck on the same storyline, I probably would’ve skipped it. ☹️How much longer until she finally wakes up?
An average show over all. Some moments were funny, but others didn’t land. You can really tell it's a Netflix project and not a Korean TV project, with almost no K-drama vibe and characters written in a Western style. I disliked both the ML and FL. For a superhero show, it felt too "realistic" , focusing too much on money problems and the need to buy a house. Ultimately, I felt no emotional investment in whether they succeeded or achieved their goal of buying a house.
I for one am glad the second couple weren't forced into being a couple. The ending is ambiguous enough to intepret…
HY wouldn’t have felt like a rebound if the writers had done them justice. That “catching her” scene when they first met was pure bait, only for the SML to be written as being stuck on the FL.
I’m so disappointed with what they did to the second leads. I waited through the entire final episode hoping for at least one sweet scene with them, and instead the writers completely did them dirty. Why would they do that? Didn’t they see their incredible chemistry—chemistry that the main leads honestly didn’t have at the same level? I’m starting to think that either the ML or FL had a contract guaranteeing they’d be the only ones allowed to shine on screen. Like that there can’t be another beautiful couple. Because of this—and the FL’s attitude in episode 13—this is just another drama to be forgotten.
Yet another FL who doesn’t seem to value the ML enough. Her behavior during the countryside arc was frustrating—always acting like she had alternatives. All those countryside filler scenes could’ve been replaced with more Seon U and Ha Yeon time. Maybe Seon U will finally wake up tomorrow
Finally—finally—a drama (C or K) where the FL loves the ML just as deeply as he loves her. I adored every part of this show: the ML, the FL, their chemistry, the storyline, and the ending. Truly an absolute delight.😍
