jiling existed. But yuan wuhuo died and devoured by butterfly demon. after losing og yuan wuhuo and another friend…
I know JL existed and my theory was he died to stop the drought and not by suicide because can he really die by himself with that feeble looking weapon? He wanted to die and tried to die but whether he'd have actually succeeded is the question. Personally, I don't think he'd have succeeded.
I'm trying to organise my thoughts about the ending and this is the only part which doesn't add up for me.
From my understanding JL existed in the new timeline too. The timeline was changed only 50 years ago by a different JL, so there's no reason the JL from that timeline and YWH wouldn't exist as that happened about 100 years ago. My theory is JL, YWH, LJ and the butterfly demon still existed. YWH was devoured by the butterfly twins so LJ and the butterfly demon YWH still came to be. JL from that timeline passed the mantle to WSG and died to stop the drought. The butterfly demon died with JL. LJ knew and stayed with JL through the years until he died but never connected the dots cuz even in our timeline he got know his origins way later after the drought so if JL had died then, LJ wouldn't have known the truth from the butterfly demon.
I doubt that Jiling would die from stabbing himself. He had the dragon scale that would cure his fatal wound and…
Ikr! I also think he wouldn't have actually died. He would've been sadder and lonelier over the years, but he would've still survived up till the rain even without LWY. Also didn't JY already know the Dragon Deity was fake? He was literally there with CW and JL in one of their earlier conversations.
I think the first half has ZSX & CDL as center focus (w/ the exception of ep 9) & the later half TJR &…
I agree with WSG appearing weak and the story, especially the later episodes being definitely more Ji Ling focused but I don't know why people bring billing into this. Equal billing literally means the actors all got paid equally. Are we suggesting TJR and JJY should've been paid more or JZ and CDL should've been paid less?? They got paid for their hard work regardless of their characters' development or the focus of the story.
Also, if you'd take my two cents, WSG as a full Dragon Deity was weak and needed help but honestly, aren't all dragon deities weak to being with? I think they are more of an icon for peace and hope than actual very powerful beings lol. Even Chi Wen's original plan to defeat Jiu Ying included 9 dragon deities including himself dying and a hundred-year plan for the 10th Dragon Deity, so why are expecting WSG to suddenly be very powerful and do what his brothers couldn't?
Also are we sure that Ji Ling would have died when he tried to end his life without LWY? I mean we know that she stopped him and comforted him, and without her he would've still tried but would he have actually died? With whatever weapon he had in his hand?
Not quite sure what everyone is talking about... Maybe I need to rewatch the ending bc
I'm kinda on the fence with the ending too. I'll rewatch the last three eps before making up my mind but I wouldn't quite go as far as to say it's a bad ending (especially considering GJM) but definitely not happy in my books.
Ep 1-2 : huiju clearly states that her reason for marrying the prince is to elevate her social status, gain power,…
It simply does not make sense for Huiju to not know this and jump into a contract marriage. I'm assuming there's some way it'll benefit her despite the law or uplift her social status in a permanent manner even after divorce. They'd probably address it in the coming episodes or else it'd be a huge plot hole.
I would expected her to have learned something about how the royalty operates while earning high grades and honor…
Royals being involved in business has a way larger effect than them marrying commoners though. It's frowned upon, yes but it only impacts the prestige of the crown to an extent but being involved in business or politics nullifies the neutrality of the royals I assume.
