Title Happyend
Does anyone know where to watch it?
At least regarding English-speaking regions outside Asia, in case you’re in any of them, it came out in cinemas in the US and Canada on 12 September and will be online there from 28 November. https://filmmovement.com/happyend has locations.

In the UK and Ireland, it’s out on 19 September, and there are locations so far at https://www.modernfilms.com/happyend

In Australia and New Zealand, it’ll be in cinemas from 30 October. https://www.plainwater.com.au/happyend might have the locations nearer the time.

Magnify handles the film’s international sales https://magnify-films.com/happyend so it might have news about releases in other countries on its social network accounts.

Title My Sunshine
Anyone know where to watch this with eng subs?
I know of three places. It was released theatrically in Singapore on 26 June this year. So, though it doesn’t appear to be out online there yet, I imagine it will be soon.
https://www.anticipatepictures.com/my-sunshine

It’ll be out in cinemas in the USA (and maybe Canada?) from 19 September and online there from 19 December.
https://filmmovement.com/my-sunshine

In the UK, it played in this year’s Queer East Festival in London in the spring, and it will play in the touring programme in other cities through the autumn. As of writing, only Chester has it confirmed, but I expect more cities will add it.

I don’t know about other English-speaking countries. But, as Charades handle the movie’s international sales, they may have news about it playing and being licensed in other countries on their social accounts.

On Some Nights I Feel Like Walking Sep 15, 2025
For everyone asking, I know two places it can be watched with English subtitles (though not for free yet).

In the UK, it played in this year’s Queer East Festival in London in the spring and will play in other cities on the tour in the autumn. Only Chester has confirmed it so far, but other tour locations may add it (and may yet be influenced by suggestions from the public).

In Northern America, it will be out widely to rent or buy from 17 October. And it’s still set to play at a couple of festivals in September.

Title Cloud
After its UK premiere in Leeds last year, it’s out nationally in the UK and Ireland from 25 April, according to the trailer at https://youtu.be/WsU2vNvHwns

According to various articles, it’ll be out during summer 2025 in the US, distributed by Sideshow and Janus Films (and I’d guess Films We Like in Canada, which they regularly partner with).

where to stream?
It’s out online in Japan https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/1244244/watch?translate=false&locale=JP but in many other countries you’ll need to wait for it to be released in cinemas before it’s available to stream (and it is getting released in many, by the standards of Japanese movies).

However, you can always search a movie on https://www.justwatch.com if it covers your country, and press “Notify me” to get an alert when the movie becomes available online.

i could not find it streaming online. anyone knows where to watch?
Thanks to Kurosawa’s momentum and it being an Oscar submission (and despite it not being much of an award-winner itself), it’s getting released in cinemas in many countries in the West this year. I haven’t read anything about Greece yet, but keep checking release schedules and you may see it turning up.

Check your nearby theaters to see if it's playing. Cineplex in Canada often have korean film screenings
If anyone’s still curious, it was indeed Well Go that turned out to have licenced it for Northern America: https://wellgousa.com/films/exhuma

I wonder if someone would sub it
Kadokawa got English subtitles made for it themselves: https://jfdb.jp/en/title/9829

Most Japanese major or mid-sized studio movies have official English subtitles for international festivals and distributors to use. Whether they get licensed internationally or if the Japanese or other Asian disc releases include the subtitles… that’s much less certain.

There are Blu-ray Discs and DVDs of it out in Japan and Taiwan (discs from the latter will be somewhat cheaper, at least new), none of which has English subtitles. They can be bought from YesAsia.com.

Hello there! Could you tell me where to watch the spin-off because the content is unavailable on the link you…
It was available as part of the 2023 edition of the Short Shorts Festival, but that was two years ago. I don’t know if it’s available in any way now.

On Carmen Comes Home Feb 15, 2025
If anyone reading this is in the UK, the film is playing with English subtitles in several cinemas across the country as part of the currently-running Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme: https://www.jpf-film.org.uk/films/carmen-comes-home

There doesn’t seem to be any way of seeing it with English subtitles at home, and nor is there likely to be any time soon (I guess the latest restored version would have been licensed by Western distributors soon after it premiered in Venice if it was ever going to be), despite the film’s claim to fame as Japan’s first full-colour feature and how well-known Kinoshita and his films are at home.

OMG WHEN WIL THEY RELEASE IT
From what I’ve read from CMC Pictures, there will be previews from 31 December and it will be released on 1 January in Australia and New Zealand and 3 January in the US, Canada and the UK. It may have releases in other countries planned, but they must be from a different distributor.

I know it is not much related to the film itself or to this site but anyway it is kinda sad that the imdb lists…
IMDb lists cast by popularity if they don’t have their order in the end credits entered. It’s an English-language database, so people who work in English-language media will be more popular on it.

If you want accurate information on Japanese movies, you’ll need to look at Japanese ones like eiga.com, KINENOTE, JMDb or specialist ones with an English version, like the official Japanese Film Database and here.
