As others have said this definitely falls into your second category. It's got its hilarious and sweet moments…
Oh yes, also Miss Truth which is very underrated but really quite enjoyable.

Title The Song of Glory Spoiler
There's 6 episodes/week, not 3.Dramacool is an illegal website, they won't fix anything unless they won't rip…
Ok someone else just wrote a message to me asking about this so I'm gonna paste it here and put it in spoiler in case iQiyi decides to plug this loophole as well..........
Below is what works for me. I use ExpressVPN .
1. Set your VPN server location to somewhere in Asia - so far India/Singapore works. Probably other places in Asia too ex Japan.
2. Then using the links that have been posted for the episodes just click on them and log into to your VIP account on iqiyi to watch. You only need VIP to watch the 6 latest episodes - earlier episodes should be free.
3. If you need to get the links for the episodes, you have to clear your cache so your browser doesn't remember your login. Then using VPN but without logging into your account search for SoG on iqiyi and all the episodes should come up enabling you to get their links and save them for later. Only then do you log into your VIP account to watch the latest episodes.

Using VPN and alternating server locations can fix most of these issues. SoG was originally on iQiyi for the first 12 episodes and then got pulled in certain regions like USA due to licensing issues. However there is a way to continue watching as VIP - I've posted guidelines earlier in this discussion board.

Can someone give me a quick recommendation about whether I should watch this or not?Dramas I liked: The Untamed,…
As others have said this definitely falls into your second category. It's got its hilarious and sweet moments but also palace intrigue, corrupt aristocrats, dastardly villains and evil sibling. If that's not your cup of tea you may not be hooked. You could also check out Dance of Sky Empire or Fake Princess for eg. which are more like Tiger and Rose.

Can anyone explain who and where the Emperor is? The program description has me a little confused because it describes…
So far we haven't seen the Emperor at all but he's in the background for eg there's discussion about how Pengcheng spent the night taking care of his brother ie the Emperor Wen. Pengcheng is most definitely just a Prince - no one calls him "Your Majesty". Historically he was the Prime Minister and I suppose here you can see him almost as a kind of regent for his brother, the Emperor.

I promised I will post if I find the OST with Eng Subs. Here is the Intro, called Shadow, sung by Zhou Shen with…
Thanks! Saw some of these already - unfortunately their translations are a little weird for some of the lyrics - iQiyi seems to have done better and gone to the heart of the meaning rather than literally translating every word for the snippets of OST so far. Ah well, maybe some kind soul out there will eventually post a better translated version.

Awesome episodes! The most satisfactory thing was to see Prince Jing Ling hit that villain with the bucket in…
BTW - have you seen any good translations of the OST - the one on iQiyi last night was the best so far but only partial - haven't seen what viki will put up. The ones on YT are all a little off. Really like the OST which hasn't intruded very much on the drama till now.

Title The Song of Glory Spoiler
Yes, truly FANTASTIC, poignant and even funny! What was kinda surreal/hopelessly romantic depending on your viewpoint…
Could be. In real historical life apparently Emperor Wen was a control freak with battles and one of the reasons his troops would lose cos generals could not act independently on the ground. So perhaps the sons of W were killed in one of those loser battles - they seemed to have been falsely accused of being traitors in the little flashback. Or as speculated - could it be that the father of evil sis is alive? Is the poison slow-acting? Previews show him going into a coma and Xia Nu has to beg her shi xiong to give him the antidote.

whwere did you watch ep 21? I can't find it
As noted in comments earlier, sites like dramacool are illegal and could have malware as well. I believe iQiyi still offers a one-month free trial and a "cancel any time" option. Viki is also not that expensive for a one-year subscription especially if you get a promo rate.

I laughed out loud with Jing Ling Wang saying, "Put out the fire" and splashes him with a bucket of water. That's…
One of the best scenes together with LY’s face when he got the plaque.

So YouTube has been reading my diary and offered up this Qin Hao interview with English subs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tKcphnpfRQ…
Yes he's brilliant in The Bad Kids. I started watching that after seeing him in Song of Glory and was really impressed by that drama - really excellent if a bit high in body count towards the end. Qin Hao is a really versatile actor cos that character is so opposite to the Pengcheng Prince.

Yep I'm referring to the consort's brother too - he seems too weasely to be the mastermind and like I said too young. Based on it being the least likely suspect at the moment, it could be the old man Lord Wang like you said - we've only been given a glimpse into the sons' deaths and so not enough info yet. Perhaps Pengcheng was also involved and then W hatched a super convoluted revenge by kidnapping Lige from the Shen household to groom her as head assassin knowing that because of the previous Emperor's decree the Shen daughter would marry Pengcheng one day.............it's cdrama so anything's possible - LOL.

Hard to say - I don't think it's the brother cos he seems a bit of a coward and I think he's too young. The plot has been in planning for a very long time - basically the shifu recruited/possibly kidnapped a bunch of orphans and brainwashed them into assassins to take down Pengcheng Wang - it would have to be someone harbouring a grudge or planning for about 10 years? It could be the former friend - but why attack the Pengcheng Prince unless he also had something to do with his sons' deaths.

Yes, truly FANTASTIC, poignant and even funny! What was kinda surreal/hopelessly romantic depending on your viewpoint was the way Pengcheng Wang kept talking about finding her with a great big knife stuck in him....... Also now we know why Xia Nu didn't want to talk about herself or find out about Fourth Brother since she had already decided to kill herself to protect the Shen family. To see Lu Yuan get the plaque about servitude and Lu Yuan's No 2 get a face full of water was truly hilarious and satisfying. And who's the real mastermind behind the awful backstabbing shifu? Episode 22 was so worth the wait...........
