In the novel, YH voluntarily gives up the heart protection scale and the dragon neidan. She then dies, but is reincarnated with her memories intact. She finds TY and they live happily ever after. Am thinking something like that is in the works, cos of the scene of her handing him a baozi in the end credits.

I have to say the makeup crew is pretty good, firstly no OTT deathly white faces, or weird eyeshadow shades, and they always leave dirt marks, injuries on faces etc.

The best villains are nuanced villains…….she’s a total obsessed nutter now but at least viewers given a little insight into how she got that way.

Unlikely. In the novel, he was a reincarnation of the general who had already died on the battlefield. Basically in this life he had already moved on and fallen in love with fox princess for reals.

Still unclear, but some clues in trailer 12. TY is gonna explode when he finds out YH accepted BXS energy……

It’s funny and very entertaining with a cute and adorable main couple.

Actually ZZH is pretty amazing here, compared to his previous costume dramas in which he always played a stoic ice block with hair always up in a tight bun. When I first saw WOH when it premiered I really had to do a double take cos he was so much freer and natural here. If you see the BTS clips you’ll also realise that he coached GJ a lot in many of the scenes.

ZY also made a brilliant debut in Word of Honor - a very promising actress

In the novel they meet up quite late, but not sure how they will do it in the adaptation.

You can also try A Girl Like Me - another costume drama with a very strong, bossy FL and NH as her love interest, looking handsome as usual.

Well in a way don't need to find him cos wherever SY is there he will be. In the novel, LMS rejects SY and is horrified at what she has done to TY so he gives TY and YH the scales.

There's his tendons and heart. As he told YH there are 3 more places to go (including the horns). He was split in 5 - soul, bones, horns, tendons, heart and of course his scales were stripped and made into a cape/armour. SY really did a number on him.

This author's works have quite a few of these strong, smart heroines - check out The Legends with Bai Lu in the lead role. Also on the subject of Bai Lu, her heroines in costume dramas are generally strong, smart and sometimes funny - just that a lot of her dramas start out really strong and end with a whimper. BL still hasn't had the fate yet to have a truly great script that doesn't let her down in the middle.

Hopefully, YH remains strong and adorable till the end without any weird out-of-character development in the middle.
