I think he’s quite in sync with the character in the novel. YH says he’s pretty and we also learn that as a dragon who only focused on cultivating for 1000 years he can be rather socially awkward, and add that to the trauma of SY dismembering him…..

He's a pretty great invention really - it's like he embodies and can say what all of us would like to scream at certain cdrama couples and/or their writers (esp lately)............

FQS should realise that his evil uncle is worse than any other spirit there - ergo humans are just as if not more prone to evil than spirits

You know how in every drama there's that one episode that becomes your favourite one - I think Ep 9 definitely gets the gold medal.
