There is actually a literal term "puking blood" in Chinese or at least in Cantonese which means so angry or frustrated can puke/spit blood so I guess it's not surprising that it's an indicator of death/injury in cdrama 😂

Keep them coming,,the rules are pretty strict right?lol😜
Yes, bad parenting is such a necessary ingredient of historical cdramas.......so many things can be traced back to just plain old terrible parenting.

Why did the Yongzhou eunuch make the comment to the Yongzhou Lord that Chang has no need to compete for power…
I think aside from FC's status at that time it should be due to his epilepsy. You can see his mother basically disowned him when she finds out he has fits. And the king while still a crown prince also advised her to let him be raised by a palace maid. So he's automatically out of the running cos of his illness and perceived "weakness". There's always soooo much bad parenting going on in historical cdramas...........

FC is pitiful. I understand ml not telling he is HFX, but not informing FC that he ain't dead even after knowing…
Yes, the rift seems inevitable esp after what happens in later eps. when FC sees even more evidence of HFX keeping things from him. While HFX's decisions are understandable, at the same time it also cannot avoid being seen as calculative and a little cold towards his elder bro, who invests all his affection in him since he's basically been discarded by his own parents.

Fully agree with you. He's literally playing two different ppl when this thing starts; though the lines are being…
Same here - I've only seen him in You are my glory which I didn't expect to like but found quite enjoyable in the end. But I thought then that he was such stiff actor, possibly just capitalising on his looks. Didn't have high expectations for this drama, but it's actually turning out quite well, so far.

Lost Love in Times is actually pretty good - has a young Simon Gong in it - soooo different from his Wen Kexing character that you will do double takes.
So many cdramas start out so promising and then self-destruct in the middle or the end. Always have to approach with caution and not let expectations build up too much until the fat lady sings, so to speak. I've skipped to the end of the novel and it's a very decent ending so they better not nuke it for some inexplicable reason - or twist it for no rhyme or reason like Autumn Ballad.
Yes, that is totally Ah Xu 😊Love, love, love SHL/WOH.

It's bloody irritating - makes Chinese women look like lovesick psychos, each one just a Fatal Attraction maniac.

Yup, we hardly get anything but that in cdramas these days. And yet just a few years ago in Lost Love in Times for eg. you see an intelligent princess being totally rational and reasonable and willing to back off after a fair competition. Is it because that once some trope gains popularity, other dramas just follow like lemmings?

I think they should sub it as the Four Gentlemen instead of the Four Gentry: 1. Yu Wuyuan 2. Hei Fengxi 3. Prince…
With the Chinese term, “gong zhi” it is actually more accurate to call them the Four Gentlemen or Noblemen rather than gentry - Yu Wuyuan is the world’s number one gong zhi followed by the rest of outstanding young men. Aside from not being applicable to females, Bai Fengxi in her non-princess persona is supposed to be a commoner not gentry.

Can someone tell me who are the four gentry?????
I think they should sub it as the Four Gentlemen instead of the Four Gentry: 1. Yu Wuyuan 2. Hei Fengxi 3. Prince Lanxi (both his personas are there) and I suppose no 4. is Prince Huang Chao

Basically in China for names they use different characters to build it. So one Feng can come from one word while…
From the online translation of the novel: "You must know that the most famous martial artists today are Feng Xi (meaning literally wind of the night) and Feng Xi (meaning abundant breath). Since they sound the same which can be confusing, people refer to the colour of their clothes naming "Bai Fengxi" according to her white clothes and the other Fengxi as "Hei Fengxi" (Hei = black), collectively naming them Bai Feng Hei Xi."

LOL - someone should do a comparison - which is the tallest cliff people have fallen off and survived in wuxia/historical cdramas
Bai should indeed come before Hei

On Delicious Romance Feb 5, 2022
Now why can't cdramaland take a drama like this as the gold standard in contemporary drama instead of churning out an endless stream of cringe-worthy idol-vehicle dramas? Delicious Romance is a hugely enjoyable, excellent drama dealing with all sorts of relatable and timely themes and concerns. Highly recommended.

Is this drama having an open ending?
This is only the first season but the ending has no horrible cliffhangers and is very satisfying.
