I think it's when they blow the side strands to have the "hair flying in the wind" look that probably brings up the bug similarity - I did find that a bit hilarious and OTT. But shouldn't detract from the watchability of the drama. And oh yeah if he is a cockroach he's one hell of a buff cockroach - wait until you see that undressing scene! How much did they spend on it cos everything looks seriously good. Or maybe it’s cos I'm still recovering from Rebirth for You - LOL.

If you like William Chan, you have to watch Lost Love in Times too - he and Joe Xu are so good in that. One of my faves to rewatch. And it has Simon Gong in there too in his pre-WOH days, when no one knew who he was.

Aiyah it's not that bad lah - they always spend so much time and angst zeroing in on these things. So far I'm finding the production, cinematography and sets really beautiful. Also there seems to be some complex relationship/backstory between Fang Zhu and the Emperor which doesn't insult the audience's intelligence. And am somewhat surprised by Xu Kaicheng who is showing a little more depth to his acting than expected. However it's early days/episodes...............

And she even seems to be defaulting to the super white, pasty, could be mistaken for a vampire from Twilight look in her makeup, even in modern dramas….altho’ actually all the makeup in this particular drama looks awful and cakey - I had to stop watching in 1080p cos it showed up so badly. But yes at least there are glimmers of intelligent scheming which is more than can be said of her character in Blooms.

Hope so. Every day they're coming out with some new rule and regulation - remains to be seen how sustainable this widespread crackdown which involves not just the entertainment industry but also big tech, gaming, tuition etc etc will be. I don't think so. I think he's able to navigate so that his personal life is not dictated by the uncle while doing what's best for his uncle's company. What I don't get is how SX and XM communicate so badly - she didn't even tell him or anybody else for that matter (and he didn't ask either), that it was his uncle who went beserk in the office and about relationship rather than work issues. Oh well, hopefully she records all conversations from now on as the Big Boss told her to. I don't like XM's secret manipulations as well even if in the end the compromise works. And while you can still watch Blooms and Legend of Yun Xi (internationally anyway) - iqiyi even altered the shot of the Blooms poster to cut him out of it!!! Ridiculous to the max! But hey, like I said it's all linked as well to the current crackdowns on corporate China, and Alibaba is a big target.

Actually I think Hongmei's family is even worse - they've basically stolen her money and didn't even put her down as a co-owner of the flat. They really live up to that saying - can't live with them; can't shoot them. Hope she starts to get some breaks soon cos right now she's just falling deeper and deeper into depression city.

There's a continuing campaign to crack down on big companies, and especially big tech/media companies ( latest announcement came out earlier this week - the timing is all so suspicious ), so it's a very very fraught time for all. Even guai guai companies without outspoken leader/co-founder can find themselves targeted. And when one considers who owns youku.........enough said.
