It was in the novel, but I didn't like it at all. Tho it wasn't a major part there, it was still present. It was unlikeable..and here it would feel like a waste of time cause all three were entangled in some unrequited love mess. I really hope they mute it or tone it down as much as possible. None of the reuters showed the romance plot, tho we haven't seen that many yet...but I'm hopeful we won't see it much..if any🙏

They should be published on every page, together with their warning not to upload images containing nudity, shocking content, etc. This would resolve many problems, such as unnecessary arguing and people losing photos that follow guidelines but for exemple don't have source links. They made some changes, and Liang Yihan’s story seems to be the most different...they’ll probably cut the romance to a minimum to save time, and the drama looks like it’ll be fast paced and action packed. It’s tricky when adapting a book that isn’t finished yet. Ideally, they should get some guiding points from the author...the very broad idea of where the main story is heading, not necessarily the destiny of the main characters, I mean revealing details..That can still be changed during the writing. So if they got from the author some outline about him ending badly, they can write a bad ending for him. It won’t matter then how different it ends up being from the novel... tragic is tragic, it's just about what and how bad 😁but if they are told it's not a bad ending at all.. it would be weird ending the drama and the novel in fundamentally different ways..one in deaths the other in idk.. a happy marriage nd kids..
Ofc, this is in an ideal world where the word “adaptation” actually has a real meaning. 😂 But esp in China, I’ve seen abysmal examples where they should be sued for false marketing... using an IP name to promote the work when the story and characters literally have nothing to do with the originals except... idk, the length of their hair. 😭 So calling it a loose adaptation or “based on” would be more honest with the OG fandom ... telling them what to expect..

I know only the basic, non-spoiler details about him that I asked AI about and what is shared here....I haven't had time to see all the reauters lately, but in those I've seen, he looked more like a figure carrying the world on his back, dragging a long and heavy list of tasks and responsibilities., but I don't remember seeing him even half-smiling.. So far he seems like a guy seriously needing some fun time and to cheer up a bit..he was making me depressed 😔..
Seeing her mostly bubbly, cheerful, and teasing, my guess for the arc is that she will be the one to show him how funny moments and joy exist, that life isn't only about his duties, family worries, and solving things... the world won't disappear if he takes some moments off and crosses over to the shiny side and makes himself happier..

Btw, I wasn't surprised GJM isn't the screenwriter... it's a book adaptation, and he prefers writing his own original stories.
But I also wasn't surprised he took on directing it, tho he had said he was going to retire. I knew he was lying to himself. 😆But honestly, even tho he won't be writing it, the whole project sounds like his thing... to do many story arcs with multiple characters about his favorite topic...demons and humans, and their complex ecosystem where they get to share the same world or live side by side. Ofc fleshing out as always how demons are more complex nd not simply evil, vicious predators or monstrous beings. If demons were to magically appear in our world, GJM would be their most vocal activist fighting for their rights Imaoo.
And one more very important thing...he gets to do many arcs that are heart-wrenching... tragic...sad...so he will get to kill or separate as many characters as possible...his fave hobby 😁 His death scoreboard ended up almost empty with VoS, so he can compensate now...lol.
About the romance, I'm more convinced they'll follow the original material..no need to complicate things with non book elements... Adding those to the many already existing individual stories and character arcs.. There simply won't be time to develop them properly and at the same time dive into the romance in any major way...

For martial arts practitioners to sense another person’s life force, the presence or absence of any vital signs, should be a basic skill. So if she was considered dead, coming back to the world of the living isn’t exactly natural, and I was thinking, okay... what explanation could there be? But, same as you, I didn’t find any real supernatural elements beyond the usual cultivation setup..except this one, the dead brought back to life. Even absorbing his life energy shouldn't be possible if she were truly dead.. tbh... some trace of her vitality should have been there, hanging by a thread for this to work, based on basic cultivation rules... If she wasn’t really dead, then what state was she in where not even a trace of life force could be detected, both by the coroner...whose job is literally to determine this, and Pu... the martial arts practitioner... some kind of hibernation state that didn’t require her even to breathe? So i probably found the scene, perhaps deliberately made to hint at some kind of supernatural explanation, regardless of how vague it is. True.. the OG fandom might sink the ratings or worse, make the online space too heated. He doesn’t need that... none of them do, incl GJM.
If GJM had been the writer... my bet is the story wouldn’t revolve mostly around them, but more around the demons’ arcs, with the two of them appearing together mainly in group scenes. Leaving space for other character arcs while keeping the main characters mostly in group scenes is what GJM usually does..so there would be less chance of turning it into a romance focused story about them..
Tbh the fact that GJM is producing more material about him doesn’t necessarily mean the drama will be centered around him imo... he wants the attention of his fandom. He already knows Aimi well and has worked with her like 4 times... besides.. she’s probably still that little girl in his eyes. He can’t really push this kind of hot material with her that he likes to do, or sell some hot romance material if it’s not really there, risking even waking up the OG fandom this early.
But he isn’t writing the script.. and I don’t know if this writer tends to heighten the romance. If they focus too much on their one on one scenes and neglect the demons’ arcs, yeah... it probably wouldn’t sit well with the OG fans...or with those annoying people talking only about the age gap and whatnot...
Many are not really expecting a copy-paste..but changing the characters and plot so much that they become unrecognizable may turn into a huge backlash against the actors..esp when the IP has a large and loud fanbase like this one... and even told to shut up abt the books and accept whatever..so I agree it wouldn't be good optics for him.. regardless of fans' personal wishes for him to take a central place...

GJM made a killing combo of his signature moves....half-naked man emerging from the water 🥵🔥💀 The execution is flawless....hitting all the right spots ...from the lighting and coloring to the perfect model. The whole concept was about fire and water, ending with overheated watchers needing a cold shower afterwards😂
