In the end... when she was dead in the carriage...right as she passed beside her husband, it almost looked like he breathed his last breath while she inhaled and came back to life. It made me wonder if there’s actually a strange connection between them... maybe her multiple survivals, and even her growing strength and skills, were coming from unconsciously and slowly draining some of his life energy. Like a strange symbiosis where neither of them is even aware of it.
Having only basic knowledge of cultivation powers, I have seen examples of absorbing someone’s energy or qi, but it was always intentional to sustain or increase one’s own vitality.
Here, I haven’t seen any intention if this was really the case explaining her survivals, “coming back from the dead” on multiple occasions after testing poisons. So I wonder if there are Chinese myths or stories where something like this, draining or absorbing the energy of another could happen unconsciously..
The timing of the scenes...where they seemed to intertwine her "awakening" with what appeared to be his death... passing by each other at that exact moment.. felt deliberate. I wonder if it was meant to hint that her survival once again came at the cost of his remaining life force transferred to her....almost like a supernatural explanation for her multiple survivals and his inability to cure his crippling state, becoming even more translucent in those attempts or even as a result of his drained life force..

Every time I look at the rating, it’s less explicable why it's so low. 😢 Ppl should just overlook it and give this drama a try.. I'm sure it would be a good decision for many.

This drama is a true gem. From the opening scenes until the end, it really draws you in. I binge watched it, smth i rarely do...so It’s giving me the feeling that I’ll need to rewatch it, cause I gulped it down so fast that I probably missed some details...

It's really nicely done. It's like you get sucked into a parallel universe functioning on some random and nonsensical rules, where logic is crushed by emotions. I had to pause to translate the online comments, and they really put effort into making the pages and commentary we were seeing look so realistic, with the usual twists of reality... like when his rage at the woman ends with him angrily hitting a book....it somehow becomes a hot search: “Hao Wen brutally beat a woman "🫩

Even getting the truth out looks desperate... like when he finds out suing each account for defamation could cost 20–50K yuan in legal fees (not sure of the exact numbers)...just to get an apology and 500 yuan in damages as the best legally possible result... that’s crazy..🤕

One of them must be his fan who was sooo traumatised by his haircut on the first filming day. 😂 She came running to the LiR page at the time... spilling out a whole range of emotions. Still wonder why gjm went for that beautiful, soft, femboyish look, with sheer materials and white... for the Thunder God, whom I imagine just by his title as more fearsome and masculine looking than here, esp with those headpieces and looser hair. Tho if he's supposed to be forceful and intimidating, Yanan can still pull it off, no doubt. Now his look gives off more tender vibes....he looks approachable....I heard about the flower demon, which made more sense to me based on his style...until I found out it was basically a made up story 😂 but if gjm has combined god and goddess in one, it might be an explanation 😁

Oh, I forgot about this practice. Tbh I don't even remember who he has booked recently. I think CDL, Lester, and Cheng Lei have always been on his list, regardless of what they do...then Aimi recently...and Esther probably....but I don't think it's for every drama. This one isn't a high budget costume drama, and it's possible that for modern.... smaller ones, the habit of booking isn't simply there..

Each has a separate mdl page with just some basic info, like the scriptwriter and such...

I haven't seen half of those... gjm seems to be going for this very ethereal, otherworldly beauty... but instead of making him look cold.... he gave him softer styling, delicate material... it's giving more of a femboyish look and appearance than the usual more masculine style gjm usually gives him... that I wonder about this character...
