Everyone is gushing abt the leads but let me gush abt the action sequence. Props to the action director. That shoot-the-arrow-then-grab and double shoot SYQ on the cliff is a masterpiece!!! Wow!
You know this drama is a MASTERPIECE 🤌when even characters like the old gossiping lady, the noodleshop owner,…
I so agree. Even the antagonist characters here are so goodly acted you swear at watching them. They're new actors and their presence stays with you. I wish they kept the title though- I like Chasing Jade better, I I've been so into this adaptation since it's production in 2024 and read all gossips and drama behind the scenes since day one lol.
Watch till 15 and 70-80 % confident that Li Huai An character was a mixed of 2 character from the novel and might be a good one. I like it. I have a soft spot for this character after his redemption arc in the novel (I freaking cried reading that part). It was wonderfully written. Props to the scriptwriter for writing him this way, I like him better here.
I have read critics that the Director has made major contribution to the success of this drama which, I do find…
Agree. The director IS the major reason of the success of the drama. If you watched the leads interview. They said every little details is meticulously crafted by the director even the angle of the kisses, the when's and how's. They even joked that he's an expert at 💋 kissing. Lol. I'll say it again idol drama don't need traffic stars but a good production team especially an excellent director/scriptwriter to make a successful hit. This has proven it for me with the director track record. I can even say he made the realtively unknown leads in Blossom a traffic stars themselves.
can finally binge watch it this weekend! i saw some posts that netflix translation were quite terrible? does anyone…
Terrible lazy in deed but I guess beggars can't be choosers. Even for me that understand little words and phrases wonder why. Example the little sister calls her "older sister" but netflix translate it as calling her name same with "brother-in-law". There's a dialogue I remember as well where the ML was telling her to give him a yr. if he fail... instead of if he dies... I watch it there coz netflix allows me to enjoy the cinematography much better in its crystal clear capacity. I read somewhere here tencent has decent translation better than netflix. I can't validate that as I don't have tencent subscription lol.
This is the highest rating of the drama, I have recently seen. Is this worth trying?
It is so good. But once you start better find a drama rehab center. 2 chapter a day then 1 chapter a day next week will give you such terrible withdrawals that need a fix pronto.
Me too . And I too worry not only about the tropes but that they could give us one of them tragic endings for…
The trajectory of adaptating the novel is done wonderfully - so far up to 9 ep . If they continue to follow the novel, yes they'll bound to separate but... she'll eventually be on an adventure to look for his missing "under the impression" forced to conscript husband. Lol. I enjoyed reading this part in the novel as there’s a lot of comedy. I hope it'll translate well to the small screen.
Nope. It's his real voice. So is TXW. He's been recently using his own voice. None listed as his voice actor. He sounds different compared to his older drama because this is his real voice. Lol
NO SPOILERS PLEASE, but—Are the Xie family a part of the Wei Faction? Yan Zheng is a Xie, but he’s been ousted…
His father is Xie and mother is Wei, sister to PM Wei Yuan. The father Xie Lushan is friends/brother with PM Wei in their younger days as generals and shared same teacher. Xie zheng grew up under pm since parents death. So pm is his maternal uncle/adopted father figure.
