Well, as much as I like Director Zeng, I agree with the above comment that the editing became choppy starting ep. 29. The flow of the story is being rushed as we get to the ending. We are getting information overload as they crammed the political arc-side. I don't like it. They added the pig slaughter squad in the drama which was not even in the novel but as you said. One character dying doesn't make sense anymore as they're becoming collateralized for the bigger plot reveal as we get into the end of the main storyline. I actually like their addition into the story but since they added so many, they are being mishandled. I wish they didn't spend too much time with the other 2 couples storyline as they are not in the novel anyway and doesn't add or affect the main plot. I'm quite unhappy with pacing as I'm watching 29-30 yesterday and I don't have that usual enthusiasm as before coz I have a feeling everything will be rushed as we near the end. I bet you, the uncle PM storyline will be butchered to some sort of a storytelling within the drama as well. If it so then such a let down coz that was the part I was so looking forward too. The uncle story is central to the whole plot and it is being watered down coz we have to give way to couples loveline that doesn't matter in my opinion. Jeez, sorry for the random ranting but can't help it. I forgot that we are watching idol drama after all and nothing like a proper chinese historical drama like say nirvana in fire.
I am happy to get my drama watching perfectly in sync this time. One good one after another. I know POJ has less than 12 left to go and 1 ep/day is torture. I found another alternate in between while agonizingly waiting. Kdrama called Phantom Lawyer, different genre but fantastic fine that's just starting. One is about to end soon and one starting. For those that are looking for alternate drama, I highly recommend this one also on netflix.
I love binge watching drama more than watching it as it aired live - this drama is an exception. I waited almost 2 yrs + Director Zeng Qing Jie doing the adaptation. So my self inflicted torture begins 🙃 😑 😂🤣 But it was fun watching despite the agonizing 1 episode per day this week. I hope they don't release express package at all which mostly here wants. Let it air as is, this helps further in the drama engagement, commercial value, breaking new milestones and in raising the ratings. I think that is the intention as well. Cross finger.

Let me add and polish a bit. After the dam burst the remaining 800 of 1000 under xie banner escape into the mountain as they were blocked by the incoming Chengzhou troops lead by the Shu brothers. The reason the FL and the Grand princess scaling the mountain to bring food/suppies. After that rescue of SYQ and one Shu general killed by our FL, the Chengzhou army is moving to lucheng to meet Prince Changxin (father of SYQ). In the novel, Qi Min troops sneak into Jizhou (close to Lin'an) where Gen He is. FL as a newly minted General leads troops to help defend it. Gen He died standing. He revealed FL father/mother Background to FL here.

Love love like a galaxy series too. Same scriptwriter here but different director. If you're looking for short drama by the same director Zeng. Try A Familiar Stranger. It's a nice 10-15 min/ep on youtube or viki. It's a nice watch while wating for the next POJ. Blossom is a warm up from the director same nice cinematography and story but average acting and passable chemistry for me.

They basically following 80% of the novel and I doubt they be any awesome fight scene with XZ character. He's probably doing mostly riding the horse lol and doing the wounded puppy apperance infront of CY.

That's why the battle scene between CY and Shi Hu is spectacular coz everybody knows it's FCY" the "butcher beauty" is the one fighting and slaying the general.
TXW as FCH myriad of facial expressions after XZ showed up, the BGM, the fog, that fight scene!, the slowmo shots, and that grab at the end is peak cinematic enjoyment 😉 👌I'm so grateful to see this novel brought to life. Thank you Director Zeng!!!
