Spot on! Yes, I did find LYR in Blossom quite handsome too. And ZLH is smoking hot 🔥 here. I only find him "handsome" in all his drama like any other expected handsome ML nothing out of ordinary. Same with TXW, she's pretty but here, she's more than pretty. She exudes appeal and charisma. The magic of Director Zeng Qing Jie. I'm afraid to say - they'll never be this good looking again after this drama. Lol

So we are halfway thru the drama adaptation. I'd say 70-80% of the novel was pretty much adapted with minor changes to some supporting characters. I wonder if the true reason of the Jinzhou war will be the same as well. If it is so, I want to post this question especially to those who read the novel. Is PM Wei Yan truly bad or not? His arrogance in his youth started a cascade of events that lead to that bloody massacre. In a royal power struggle like that, who's to blame? I'm grateful to the author giving him an extra chapters in the novel so we can see his own struggle and POV. He truly doesn't have a way back but forward but because he was consumed with convoluted emotion of vengeance and guilt. He has no choice but to become that evil person. I love that time travel back of his to change the events as well. Most novel it's always the FL travelling back not a male antagonist character in a novel. He remains my 2nd fave memorable character in ZhuYu after LiHuaiAn. I wish the author made a separate novel about him doing the time travel back. I would love to read a whole book depicting his own story.

In ep19 - she woke up hearing them talking abt Jizhou troops nearing the area and XZ soldier asked why can't they not be discover by Li HuaiAn troops and the other answer if you're curious why don't you asked the master.

It wasn't Song Yan who got beaten but a rich friend of his who's bad mouthing Yan Zheng in front of everyone. Chang Yu wasn't happy and she went back to beat the guy by herself.

OMG! I was just also thinking of LOFG. I read that novel - it was one of my fave alongside Zhu Yu (actually the novel is better than ZhuYu) and so frustrated how it turned out in the drama. I wonder if only Director Zeng Qing Jie took charged of that drama, it could also be like ZhuYu. Such a waste but I'm glad this one turned out beautifully. It's up there on my GOAT cdrama list.

You should read it for comparison. The little changes they did added to the fun watching it.

I wonder if Wei Yan (uncle/pm) is also getting some sort of redemption arc/alternate ending/ justified storyline like Li Huai An did. Aside from our MLs, these 2 characters are my other faves in the novel. They already altered LiHuaiAn, pls do similar to WeiYan pretty pls.

Lol. Such passion. Don't worry I don't think the director will go that route and ruin the adaptation. They're doing great in translating this novel to the small screen so far. They'll get their just deserts, I just don't know how they'll go about it here.

Its should be 9.5. I'm an avid fan of the novel. Literally from all those good novel that were previously adapted. This is the only one so far that has not butchered the plot. It was well translated to the small screen up to this point in t he drama. I hope for the success of the adaptation until the end pls 🙏🙏🙏 let's go Director Zeng Qing Jie! 🥳🎉
