He is a refined rich son of a gangster. As far as I know, you gotta know how to knock a few punches and how to appease seniors to exist in such a place. He is a boy with plans. He would really make a very fine ML but he had to be the main villain… I regret that everyday.

Actually in episode 9 the Kangning goes to meet him and then the ML starts talking about how the family is not of nobles and they should be grateful. They can't expect his mother to treat them with the same respect. He wasn't wrong, but as someone who wanted to marry them, it was... sad and quite heartbreaking. I wrote this review when Chai An wasn't at his best or fully developed, but later Chai An did become the best boy and I did side with the SIL alliance. Yeah so, he was kind of hateful in ep9, but ONLY ep9

YX is such a sweet boy. Like he is not a villain. He stood up for her (You can’t convince me that he wasn’t planning on smashing the faces of those pieces of trash). And then the concubine jiejie’s story, and then how he smiles so loveingly whenever she beats someone, then how he shyly blushes and hides whenever she gets close to him. You can’t tell me that is the behaviour of a villain neither can you convince me he is not about to become a lovesick puppy in the next episode(s). Oh and bonus, his thoughts about the family and how he literally becomes a boy in presence of Madam Li. He is such a sweety. Definitely kinky though.
