Wow, thanks for laying all that out so clearly!
Although I didn't read the novel I also feel that about Xiangliu. I really appreciate your detailed analysis of Xing Liu's motivations and actions especially how you distinguish between his loyalty and his presence for Xiaoyao. I also found him like a friend but not lover . Your points about him using her to support his side and tracking her with CangXuan are super insightful and definitely give a lot of food for thought.

I completely agree with your take on Jing. He truly comes across as someone genuinely seeking love, without the layers of manipulation or ulterior motives you described for XiangLiiu. It's refreshing to see that pure intention from him.

You've really articulated a perspective that makes so much sense, and it's great to have someone break it down like this, referencing both the novel and drama. It deepens the understanding of their characters and relationships significantly. Thanks for sharing your thoughts so eloquently!

Yes, all the characters are flawed in LYF, which makes them all so interesting. Just like in real life, one cannot…
Your message really resonated with me you've hit the nail on the head about the characters in LYF. Their flaws are absolutely what make them so real and relatable, just like people in actual life, right? It's what makes the story stick with you.
It's genuinely amazing to see the continued enthusiasm for this drama, and I'm really happy to be joining such a passionate community.

You're spot on about different perspectives adding so much richness it truly makes the conversations engaging, and it's nice when everyone can share their views respectfully and nicely.
You've perfectly summed up why LYF is such a gem every character, regardless of how we feel about them, plays such a crucial role, and the story just wouldn't be the same without any one of them. That depth is what makes it timeless.

LYF is definitely a top favorite for me too, and I've loved it from the start. So glad to be here and chat with someone who appreciate it just as much and all the character.!

There are so many people who are in team Tushan Jing. He brings such emotional depth to the role. How can anyone…
Exactly they didn't choose her! I just became fan of him for his kindness loyalty quietness patience . His love for her was another level but somehow they didn't show it perfectly but they could.

I didn't read the novel even I hadn't planned to watch this . I was free and just downloaded this drama even I wasn't aware who are in this drama. Now I realize it was an amazing moment to meet Ye Shiqi / Tushan Jing Xiaoyao Ah nian Cangxuan and the all character.

Honestly, Tushan Jing (Deng Wei) deserve the love. He’s the quiet strength, Tushàn Jing is gentle calm kind…
Be real bro calling Jing manipulative, passive, and undependable is just rewriting the story to fit a narrative. He was never loud like Xiang Liu or ruthless like Cang Xuan, but he was the only one who stayed true from start to finish. He was Ye Shiqi and lastly he remains same.

He didn’t changhe he grew. Yes he made mistakes, but he fought to fix them. When others gave up, Jing kept coming backagain and again, even at the cost of his life power, and reputation.

He didn’t stop the wedding? He was poisoned, trapped, and still tried everything to break free. Unlike others, he didn’t abandon her after failing.

He returned with a plan risked death, got stabbed, and still choose her. He chose Xiaoyao every single time, even when she doubted him

Green flag kindness wasn’t a mask it was who he was. Quiet, loyal, and willing to sacrifice everything without fanfare.

People didn’t jump ship from Jing because they saw the truth. They jumped because they couldn't understand love that wasn't loud or toxic.

Jing's love wasn't performative it was always real and this is the thing which matter. Stable. Constant.

And that’s why Xiaoyao chose him in the end not for drama, but for peace, trust, and home.

Of course anyone can root for him but today's society always fall for toxicity. Of course it was impossible for not to admire him . Why you always have to come with ffyy reason it doesn't matter bro think normally and I m agreeing with what I watched. If things are abnormal I can see it although after watching the whole drama I became fan of Jing .

Thanks for being fine😃. But not always come with unreasonable things to object like other Xiangliu fans.

Xiaoyao saying “only he won’t abandon me” doesn’t mean she didn’t love Jing it shows how deeply she did. For someone who grew up with betrayal, loss, and survival, love wasn’t about grand words, it was about security, consistency, and trust. Jing earned that through years of patience, sacrifice, and always coming back, no matter how hard things got.

She didn’t need to say I truly love him her actions, her choices, and the fact that her heart always returned to him said it all. In the end, she chose Jing not just because he was safe, but because he was the only one she could love without fear. That’s not a lack of love that’s real hard-earned love.

Xiaoyao also didn't said she love Xiang liu but some people always come with these reasons. Don't say the lover bug topic I don't understand how can a lover bug make you to love another person.

Saying Jing earned his dislike l overlooks the truth he didn’t change, the situation around him did. People jumped ship not because he failed, but because he wasn’t loud or dramatic like others.

Jings andall the character never meant to be perfect. Fans don’t claim that his flaws like hesitation and self-restraint are clear. I don't think anyone will say he's the best character but who like him they said he's best character for them. There are 6 main leads how can one will be perfect.Even with kindness loyalty people don't want to accept a person.

Xiang Liu hurt people and hid behind walls. Cang Xuan chose power over love. Even Xiaoyao made painful choices. So why is Jing judged more harshly for staying loyal through all that?

I said people have problem with his every thing. Watch the show support them back but no they have to bad mouth and give negativity.

He’s not the flashiest but he’s the one who offered her peace, patience, and unconditional love. That’s why many still stand by him.

Exactly!... Xiaoyaos behavior toward Jing wasn’t confusion it was emotional defense. She had deep trauma and abandonment issues, so she constantly tested Jing, afraid he do leave like everyone else. But unlike others, Jing never gave up on her.

Xiang Liu gave her thrilling danger, Cang Xuan gave her duty and distance but only Jing offered quiet, enduring safety. He didn’t try to possess her. He stayed through rejection, humiliation, even near death. That’s not weakness that’s devotion under pressure.

People criticize Jing for not being flashy, but in reality, he was the only one willing to live for her, not just die for her. That’s the love Xiaoyao needed most.

You're actually right. It's normal for people to change their likes. Many people liked Jing than they turned to Xiang liu because he's portrayed to be liked for his tragedy and I think toxicity ( nowadays people like bad boy type) but you willnt want it in real life . There are some people who stayed becoming Jings fan because of his loyalty, his only love, his kindness . It's clear that the author favoured Xiang Liu the prove is I think season 2 many of say that and I also understand in season 2 they can create a strong image of Jing but they didn't created. After all some haters say hes manipulative than why he ended up like this after all he's the main lead.

People don't understand Xiang Lius dangerous love and Cang Xuans ambition, Jing offered Xiaoyao quiet loyalty and emotional safety in her world

He didn’t control or hurt her he respected her choices, even when it broke him.
While others acted boldly, Jing bore pain silently and still chose her every time.
He wasn’t weak he was steady, selfless, and brave in his own way.
In a chaotic world Jing was the only one who gave her peace not more scars.
LYF is a great show . Everyone did well but some negative always come with unimportant reasons and misinterpretation. Yes their favorite one is doing well but they can't accept people's love for Jing. They understand and accept all of characters pain, flaws, emotion but don't his.

You're absolutely right. They can say what ever they want they also come with various reasons even which don't shown in the drama . If u stand for him than also they say this is wrong, not shown in drama, it have to be not like that blabla I really don't understand if this is not shown is Jing fans became story teller they just make it in their own!!!! He actually did what he can and we can't change them . Every character did what they are to do but why always they are back on him.....
I'm glad to know someone appreciate it. You're welcome.

Title Lost You Forever Spoiler
i dont understand it might seems the FL is havinh affairs to all Leads i dont understand who he will end up wih
Xiaoyao only truly loved Tushan Jing.

She had a complicated bond with Xiang Liu (mutual unspoken feelings), cared for Cang Xuan as family (possibly with a blurry line), and considered Feng Long only as a practical choice for marriage.

She wasn’t romantically involved with all of them. Each man loved her in his own way, but her heart always returned to Jing. And she ended up with him.

Xiaoyao – The Broken yet Resilient Heroine
Flaws: Emotionally distant, cold, avoids love, self-destructive.
Why fans love her: She's a realistic trauma survivor who went through abandonment, torture, and loss. Despite everything, she grows stronger, becomes a healer, protects her loved ones, and learns to trust again. Her emotional depth and personal growth make her powerful and relatable.

Tushan Jing – The Gentle Devotion hero
Flaws: Passive, hesitant, poor communication, over sacrifice.
Why fans love him: His love for Xiaoyao is loyal, quiet, and selfless. He endured torture and humiliation just to stay alive for her. He never betrayed her emotionally, and when the time came, he was willing to give up everything to be with her. His tenderness and sacrifice are unforgettable.

Xiang Liu – The Tragic Antihero
Flaws: Ruthless, killer, cold, emotionally repressed.
Why fans love him: His love is silent, forbidden, and full of sacrifice. Despite being on the opposite side of the war, he secretly protects Xiaoyao. His dual identity adds depth, and his tragic fate tugs at the heart. He never asked for love, but gave everything anyway.

Cang Xuan The Ambitious Brother
Flaws: Power-hungry, emotionally cold, neglectful, puts ambition over relationships.
Why fans love him: He’s a complex, realistic ruler. His love for Xiaoyao is buried under responsibility and guilt. Fans admire his ambition, loyalty to his throne, and the sadness of winning everything but ending up alone. A perfect portrayal of power vs personal loss.

Ah Nian The Spoiled but Insecure Princess
Flaws: Jealous, entitled, petty, self-centered.
Why fans love her: She’s immature, but not evil — just desperate for love and attention. Her actions come from insecurity and lack of emotional support. She has moments of growth, and fans appreciate her emotional honesty and potential for redemption.

Feng Long – The Smart and Strategic Suitor
Flaws: Calculating, prideful, treats love like politics, emotionally distant.
Why fans love him: He respects Xiaoyao’s choice and never forces her. He’s confident, reliable, and clear in his intentions. His political ambition is admirable, and many see him as the stable, safe option who could’ve given Xiaoyao a respected place beside him.

Fangfeng Yiying– The Tragic Wife
Flaws: Jealous, obsessive, emotionally unstable, manipulative.
Why fans love her: She’s not a villain — just a woman consumed by love and insecurity. Her story is heartbreaking: married to a man who never loved her, used as a pawn in family politics. Fans see her as a tragic mirror of Xiaoyao, full of pain, not evil.

Jing does have a large fanbase, mostly from the drama, I think. We all say Jing, but often what we really mean…
U're focusing on what Xiaoyao suffered (which is valid), but you're ignoring why Jing made the choices he didand the consequences he paid for them.

You're just saying example when he risked his life. If u can't remember u can watch this During the Chishui clan banquet. When an assassin fired an arrow aimed at Xiaoyao, Jing jumped in front of her and took the hit himself. That was a clear, life-threatening moment he didn’t hesitate. He put her life above his own, without any thought of reward or recognition.

After escaping and reuniting with Xiaoyao, Jing chose to return to Hou’s clan, knowing full well that they had poisoned him before and would likely punish him again. Why? To protect Xiaoyao from being dragged into Hou's internal power struggles. That was a death sentence disguised as duty a silent sacrifice.

Jing was constantly under slow-acting poison, administered by his own clan to control him. He accepted it quietly, just so he could keep protecting Xiaoyao in court politics and clan affairs. That’s living in constant danger, for her sake.

Jing may not have died, but he risked many things to shield Xiaoyao. If that’s not love, loyalty, and sacrifice, what is?

Jing didn’t vanish in Qingshui to abandon Xiaoyao he stepped back because showing up would’ve worsened her position. She was already under pressure, and him confronting Cangxuan directly would've escalated clan tensions and endangered her more.

Hiring Fang Feng Bei wasn’t about sabotaging her happiness it was about protecting her from being politically exploited in a marriage she didn’t choose freely. It wasn’t pretty, but it was effective. Xiaoyaos own heart wasn’t in marrying Feng Long. So you're suggesting that she would marry Feng Long.?

And yes Jing did risk his life. Going back to FFYY and Hou’s camp after defying them wasn’t safe. He endured surveillance, manipulation, and threats, all to keep Xiaoyao out of their grasp. That was self sacrifice, not selfishness.

As for the emotional damage absolutely, Xiaoyao suffered. And it proves she was in love with him you already said she didn't loved her than why now you're claiming about spitting blood. Her heart was broken she suffered. But Jing did too. He never wanted to hurt her. He just kept choosing her safety over being with her. That’s why he kept letting her go not to abandon her, but to protect her the only way he could.

You say he didn’t honor her choicesbut which ones? The ones she made under pressure? Jing didn’t trust the world around her to let her be free. So he acted in his way, but always for her. Xiaoyao did things for Jing bt don't have any problem to this but I think many of Jing haters have. Isn't this story is like this .?

For example.....In legend of anle Liu yunnig did many things he always was there for dilraba rather than gong jun. In LYF everyone know the author and production teamfavoured which character .

Lastly I can say everyone has liked every person with their acting, appearance their flaws. So don't be serious it's just a drama with so many flaws.

There are so many people who are in team Tushan Jing. He brings such emotional depth to the role. How can anyone…
I've read your points about Jing, and it's clear you feel strongly about his actions

Why should I argue he have to with ffyy who was Tushan hous lover. By your saying it willnt prove that he choose reputation if he did in the end he wouldn't became Ye Shiqi. Isn't for us to say what they should do the story was already written we can't change anything about them. There are so many things which people don't love about Jing but they became Jings fan and there are some many things against the law the society the humanity but people liked xiangliu.

Ok as u say I agree that Jing's choices were often frustrating and led to pain, especially for Xiaoyao framing him as unilaterally wrong and dissecting his every move with such a critical lens oversimplifies the immense he suffered.

Jing nearly died for Xiaoyao( for you-hes doing high drama to be a hero by dying ) Not enough / Confusion of Context You dismiss his near-death experiences and claim I'm confusing context with excuses. But how can you separate Jing's attempts to protect Xiaoyao from his love for her? His near-death in the assassination attempt was directly related to his position and the threats to their relationship. His later suicidal tendencies were explicitly about not wanting to live without Xiaoyao,,,,,,, that's a direct reflection of his devotion, however tragically expressed. To say it had nothing to do with staying true to her is to ignore the emotional core of his character. He couldn't risk his clan's power without bringing disaster upon Xiaoyao, too. His path was about finding a way for them to be together within his responsibilities, not simply abandoning everything. Which was normal for me but somehow some people couldn't accept this process they sometime claim why he didn't abandon everything sometime say why he stay .

Not freeing himself from engagement you assert he "chose reputation over love" and should have "dumped all the expectations of society."
This is a deeply anachronistic view for the world of Lost You Forever. When he is thinking he's wrong why shouldn't he stay true to Xiaoyao. if he did run away with her than all of Jing hater will say how can he run away at least he's not aware he's not wrong. And wht abot Xiaoyao she should run away like this with him.

Jing wasn't some free spirited modern man. He was the future clan leader of a powerful, ancient family, bound by sacred contracts and generational responsibilities. Dumping those expectations wasn't just about his personal reputation it would have meant the ruin of his entire clan, and by extension, putting Xiaoyao directly in the path of their enemies. His attempts to slowly dismantle the engagement and find a way out were his struggle to reconcile love with duty, not a lack of effort. He wasn't simply being selfish,,, he was operating within a brutal political reality where breaking such a contract could lead to war or the destruction of his family.

U state marrying FFYY and Not staying true to xiaoyao and that's . This is an incredibly harsh and, again, modern interpretation. He was forced to marry her to save Xiaoyao's life and the lives of those around them. He didn't marry her out of love or choice. He wasn't aware of the truth so he feel guilty free her for her better . It was a political sacrifice, a desperate move. His loyalty and heart remained with Xiaoyao, even if his body was legally bound. The promise he kept to Ffyy was to protect her life, a promise he was coerced into to save others. To equate this forced political marriage with a "cheater" in a relationship of love and loyalty completely misses the dire circumstances and the powerlessness he felt.

You claim he didn't give a f for his clan" and was "happy to abandon them. This is a selective reading. He was enslaved and tortured for decades. His six years in Qingshui Town were years of recovery from unimaginable trauma, where he was essentially reborn. He wasn't happy to abandon his clan; he was a broken man, stripped of his identity and power. His return and subsequent efforts were for his clan's stability, which was intrinsically linked to his ability to eventually protect Xiaoyao.

While Jing himself admitted his love could be selfish, this is a common human trait, especially in intense relationships. If Xiaoyao could do anything for becoming happy why Jing couldn't...?Every character in Lost You Forever makes decisions that prioritize their own desires or perceived needs, even if it impacts others.

His actions, which you label as running away, were often strategic retreats or periods of forced recovery, not acts of cowardice or abandonment. Jing's path to protecting Xiaoyao was never through brute force like Xiangliu or political maneuvering like Cang Xuan in their early stages. His fight was to survive, regain his standing, and then use his influence and resources to create a stable and safe life for them both

To accuse Jing of 'abandoning' his nephew completely misrepresents his family situation and his long-term goals. Jing was not simply shirking responsibilities he was actively fighting to reclaim his clan's power and stability after his own family nearly destroyed him. His nephew's safety and future were entirely dependent on Jing first securing his own position and the clan's survival, which was a monumental task after his brother's usurpation and his own trauma. You can't expect a man who was literally resurrected from the dead and fighting for control of his own life to immediately assume full guardianship without first re-establishing his foundation. His every move was calculated to ensure a lasting future for his lineage, which inherently included his nephew.

Cang Xuan's ::::::entire life is a calculated pursuit of power, often at Xiaoyao's expense, driven by his own desire for control and to protect her on his terms.

Xiang liu's ::::::refusal to live for himself, not for any one even for Xiaoyao, was a choice that brought her immense pain, prioritizing his loyalty to a doomed cause over a shared future.

Even Xiaoyao makes choices based on her own need for security and fear of abandonment, sometimes pushing away those who genuinely love her.
Jing's passivity, as you call it, was often a reflection of his trauma and his attempts to meticulously navigate an impossible situation without resorting to open rebellion that would harm Xiaoyao. He didn't have no choices, but he had a series of terrible choices, each with devastating consequences. His efforts in Dragonbone Prison were about regaining control and power precisely so he could protect Xiaoyao and build a future where they could be together, not simply for prestige.
Ultimately, Lost You Forever thrives on characters making flawed, human choices under extraordinary pressure. To single out Jing as wrong ignores the complex moral landscape and the very real constraints of their world. He loved Xiaoyao deeply and fought for her in the only ways he knew how, even if those ways were indirect, painful, and often misunderstood.
