Oh it’s in various chapters, quite a lot of them
Favourite? I’d say that’s the Cloud Pavilion arc, chapters 183-192. It showcases the essence of HY as HRF dynamics with her classmates. It’ll make sense to you, even if you just read those chapters alone

i know. after watching him in yourhful glory , i just go awww this little shit
Blood of youth all the way! I procrastinated for years, and when I finally did watch it, I inhaled the drama in 2 days, no ffw. Then I read the novel.

Dashing youth will make more sense if you watch blood of youth first tbh.

Same here, but for me it’s the Blood of Youth or Love and Redemption 🤭

What she got is a title... Actually it was just an empty title with some military perks...Her military rank wasn't…
CZ is such a snake for this. I took his actions as a literal threat from CZ to XJ. I just wanted to throttle him when I was reading this bit in the novel 😒

why is bai shuo dressed like a cutesy mortal in some scenes and then a divine princess and then suddenly again…
From the moment she truly accepts the Demon World as hers, she starts dressing accordingly (ending of ep 7). She only puts on mortal clothing if she’s in the mortal world, and that’s not always either. Hope my answer helps.

Xie jing xing vs xiao jue who is your pick??
Novel Xie Jing Xing, 100%.

However, we’ll see how he’s portrayed in the drama and whether drama XJX is better than drama XJ.

CZ wanted to take the credit for Emperor bestowing He Yan with the General title.
That’s the superficial connotation, dig deeper and you can see how ill-intended that was. In the novel, they explain it very well

can someone spoil me. for those who have read the novel, what did Xiao Jue say to the emperor?
Wouldn’t you want to be pleasantly surprised? In the novel, I thought my heart would stop beating just before the reveal happened, and XJ appeared all badass.

Lol YH and XJ being friendly is so funny because YH would never stop competing and one-upping XJ in the novel
Exactly, I loved their “interesting”friendship 🤣

On Legend of the Female General Aug 17, 2025
Ep 24 notes: XJ wanted to protect HY from getting discovered by the emperor while she’s still pretending to be a man. He wanted to have her reveal her female identity and then help her get the merits she deserves.

CZ created a huge trap for her (and XJ by association) by getting her the title from the Emperor, as she’s still under the guise of a male He Yan. Deceiving the Emperor is punishable by death.

He’s so disgusting.

Anyway, in the novel Yan He can only dream of hitting XJ. Novel XJ is unafraid of anybody even the emperor, and the emperor did not punish him. In fact he sent loads of rewards.

I peeked at your watch list. He was in A Familiar Stranger. A favorite with many. He was nice in Follow Your Heart.…
I watched a Familiar Stranger today 🤭

I’m not a big fan of the ML in Follow your heart, so unfortunately I’ll have to skip it.

he was also really good in My Journey To You!
That’s right, it’s unfinished, I didn’t express myself correctly. And I agree, no ending is the worst thing ever

That’s the flaw in the drama. In the novel, they’ve been students only for 1 year, when she was 14-15 and…
Yes, the Double had its faults, but it’s at least a bit more realistic.

I think they wanted to create a strong connection between XJ & HY and his father, to make the betrayal so much worse, but in doing so, they created plot holes.

In the novel it’s the same tbh, though she’s not as clueless about the SML. XJ doesn’t really care that…
I think that she loves him very much, it’s just she’s more carefree in her dealings with those around her, even with her soldiers and other friends, whereas he sees only her and doesn’t interact with any female who’s not a relative. I don’t even think it’s possessiveness, as much as having severe tunnel vision.

There’s also her trauma, and she actually struggles to show her love in the same way others do. That is actually extensively talked about in the novel. People who haven’t experienced love as children, often struggle giving their love but also receiving it.
