I agree with you! I think they purposely made Sang Zhi in TFF bland. But that is okay because we can go back to…
I love FIYS as well! I also love the novel ❤️

Same here in terms of ratings. Haha, I actually struggled with the first few ALP eps as well, but it gets really good later on and now I keep rewatching it 😅

Not sure if that’s Xu Kai’s best, I think Academy or Legends (if not for the rubbish editing toward the end) is better. WOL is pretty solid too

Just so you know my scores can be a bit high, mainly because I rate my enjoyment of the drama. Generally, drama watching is mainly a stress reliever & battery charger for me 😅😅

Omg, same here! I loved GGS, but couldn’t get into GGS2 (even though I do like the main leads), however I also purposefully watched every single scene where Li Xian and Yang Zi made an appearance. The double wedding was perfection!

Same here on every point.I really enjoyed Victor Ma, but he was quite different to the TFF novel.
Indeed, they had very cute sibling dynamics!

That only happened in the first scene the coloring for both leads gave it a bit of a mellow, almost melodrama…
I noticed the massive difference only on him. To me, it seemed particularly attention grabbing when he was offering her a piggy back ride in ep 30, because of the natural light. It completely took me out of the scene, I couldn’t help noticing it over and over. It’s such a shame, because otherwise the make up had been very good throughout the drama.

Whoever did Bai Jing Ting’s make up in episode 30 should be given mandatory foundation colour matching lessons. His neck and ears are completely and utterly different to his face. He’s not ill anymore, didn’t they get the memo? Smh

Episode 32 is perfection though ❤️

it’s different in the drama, but wei yifan is still strong. they just made her more complex and darker because…
I never said otherwise 😊

Cool. I would just like to add that just because someone explained something doesn’t necessarily mean others agree with it, after all it is one’s own interpretation of the story and not an indisputable fact.

I didn’t question you. I simply said I don’t agree with the explanation being a good reason for the changes made. That’s all

I never thought you didn’t respect my opinion. I’m simply saying I don’t understand why you thought the drama did a better job at showing her character growth and how he was more central to the story in the novel. That’s it. We are indeed having a discussion

To make an argument is an idiom, it’s like saying to make a point. It doesn’t actually mean that we are having an argument

I watched this not expecting much because I really loved Victor Ma as Sang Yan in HL, but I was pleasantly surprised…

But the novel was already about her, though. If anything, he gets even more spotlight in the drama by searching for her all over. I don’t really understand the argument you are making

Appreciated, but I think the characters were very well rounded up in the novel as is. Given the changes to the plot, I prefer the events unfolding in the novel, which show her growth and maturity “live” instead of it happening off-screen as they did with her going to HK

I really like the ML & FL actors. Now I can’t imagine anybody but Bai JingTing bringing Sang Yan to life. He absolutely smashed it out of the park. Zhang RuoNan is a very convincing Wen Yifan and they certainly have the right type of chemistry.

While I like Zhi Zhi and Duan Jiaxu actors in this as well, it would’ve been absolute perfection to have the OG Zhao LuSi and Chen ZheYuan back. I think many would’ve been over the moon with that amazing casting 🥺🥺

I feel like you and I have rather different views on the novel and the characters’ growth.

I wish they hadn’t made changes to the plot, particularly regarding the creepy “uncle”. The novel had plenty of dramatic moments as is.

This BS with her disappearing on him as he visits Zhi Zhi in Yihe is just so… ugh. It didn’t happen in the novel. At all.

Wen Yifan in the novel is a way stronger and better person. She would have never left Sang Yan a second time, after what happened in their school days. The drama her in later episodes really annoys me. Novel Wen Yifan told him the truth without the need for Sang Yan to travel half across China looking for her. Sigh
