I’m glad that the drama touches on a pretty important issue, but I don’t think that it’s giving the correct message in how to find a solution to said issue: in a relationship/marriage most men do not know what women want - women want the guy to do things without being asked, men have no clue what the woman thinks.

Personally had that happen in my marriage, and the only solution was for me to open my mouth and tell him what I wanted.

Unrealistic romance dramas and novels have misled women into believing that men know what women think or want. WRONG. Men might do their best and still be clueless because they’re just wired differently. Many men have zero examples of what a fulfilling relationship between a man and a woman is, so how would they know what they’re supposed to do to please a woman? Moreover, most men don’t watch and read the romantic stuff women do. Their expectation is that the woman will tell him, yet women have the expectation that the guy will just find out on his own.

What is needed is positive communication of one’s desires and time. Initially my husband didn’t even think of making me a coffee in the morning, now I get both coffee and a full breakfast, sometimes even in bed if I’m unwell. Men learn but they need time and for their women to be patient.

Relationships are hard work, but very rewarding if both parties are willing. And this goes not just for marriages but even familial relationships and friendships.

The drama was rather enjoyable. There were a few hiccups here and there, mainly in the second half, but it was a pleasant watch nonetheless. My husband watched quite a bit of it with me, and the both of us agreed that the ML truly stole the show.

There is nothing worse than a lukewarm relationship. Being possessive of the person you love and are willing to spend your whole life with is most normal, and expected even. Obviously without going into irrational territory, but I’ve seen none of that in the drama so far.

I’ll take a man who knows what he wants and has the guts to carry out his will + also challenges me, over somebody who is overly differential and is a personality-less “green flag”.

People saying the ML is a red flag either must have never been in a relationship and are bitter about it or they live in some kind of parallel reality to this one lol.

You brought up the smallpox example and I gave you another. You obviously haven’t read the trials. An important part was about exploitations of humans in the name of medicine without consent. No medical procedure can be done to a person without their consent or in the case of children (as they cannot consent) - their parents, and the dead - their next of kin.

Interestingly enough Ancient China had very severe laws on unsanctioned exploitation as well, including the dead.

And no, I’m not an American. In Ancient China, people could sue for malpractice, fraud, cheating, theft, murder etc.

Desecrating bodies wasn’t just morally wrong and even up to this day it is a crime in most countries for good reason.

The Nuremberg trials dictate that people have absolute authority over their own bodies and health and NOBODY can take it away. I don’t care for what purpose, but she had no right to do what she did and were any of my family similarly mutilated I would sue the practitioner.

I’ve lived in absolute poverty, don’t you tell me bullshit about the things one does to get money. More guilt for the big perpetrators doesn’t mean less guilt for that female technician or those despicable women. Surrogacy is utterly wrong and should have never been allowed, and in truth in many countries it is forbidden, rightfully so. Making money out of children, how is that any different to child trafficking?

I don’t see the issue with watching something and enjoying some aspects while being critical of others. The whole point of this forum is to discuss such things.

Likewise to your suggestion that I drop the drama, I’ll say - don’t like my comments, don’t read them.

Will you similarly defend women making children for money without a care for their child’s fate, whereby most of those kids are abused by their family? Those women had zero care for what would happen to the children they bore, only the money they were promised but didn’t get. Utterly despicable.

She should have been punished nonetheless and her achievement for saving others would’ve served as a way to soften the punishment but it should’ve in no way completely removed it. Abetting murder and mutilating people’s bodies when it’s an absolute taboo on a legal, moral, spiritual, and cultural level cannot and should not be swept aside so easily. In ancient China the body being preserved unviolated after death was a huge thing, she knew it and still did whatever she wanted.

The morals of this drama are very crooked. The female technician was cutting into people’s body without any consent whatsoever (except for the last guy) and they think she’s somehow in the right?! Like wtf is wrong with them? It’s utterly horrendous to mutilate somebody’s body after their death without the consent of that person or their family. The goal absolutely does NOT justify the means. I don’t care if she’s a woman or a guy. You mutilated somebody’s cadaver, which is established as unlawful, you get punished for it according to the law.

Started off great and then dissolved into rubbish and character emasculation. Not for me, thanks. I give it 6/10 and that’s me being generous.

I think Grand Tutor Li was surprised because if the court had dug deeper into why the Rebel Prince Sui said the tally was fake, then it might have been found that it was him (GT Li) who worked with the old emperor and the Sui prince to cause the catastrophe from 17 years ago. Unfortunately there was no evidence except for WY’s own words.

The tally was irrefutable evidence that publicly condemned WY. It’s one thing to have disputes at home, another to do it in front of the court. Given that QM was preparing to take over the throne, it was important for him that XZ and WY not work together under any circumstance. That kind of worked but it also backfired…

It was meant to help her impeach Wei Yan, and drive a wedge between uncle and nephew, since the puppet emperor was under WY’s control. I think you might have misread QM’a intentions.
