??? she doesnt have any vendetta, where did you get that... ????? She is simply selfish and impatient
She purposefully chose to fulfil his friend’s wish by exchanging their fates, instead of simply giving the friend the opportunity to shine. She literally said at the end that she chose herself how to implement the wish. If that’s not vengeful, I don’t know what is?
It’s creepy how she can just smile like that after destroying his life. It also makes little sense that he, as the wielder of the card and the one who pays, would be shafted like that. Smh. Why would she have such a huge vendetta against him?
Watching it with my husband, we’re really enjoying it. The first episode was perfection in introducing the character. I wish more dramas had such good writing
That's how it is with time-travel C-drama. You have to get used to the fact that because of time-travels bans…
I meant that they could’ve made some small changes to at least somehow improve the end with 23 eps at least. Anyway, talking of should have or could have won’t change the reality.

Indeed, many things go unanswered, but as the viewer it’s not my duty to infer the solutions to all the issues you mentioned. They decided to release the drama with such a luckluster end, that’s their fault.

I am very well aware of the issue with censorship, but if you watch When Destiny Brings the Demon, you’ll see that they could’ve done a much better job setting up the ending.
Watching their goodbye in 36, and seriously what is her deal? I don't understand why she's upset and pushing him…
Indeed that has not happened in the book. In the novel, she defied the new Emperor, agreeing to crazy terms just so he’d give her an army. She went with this army to Wuling (who kidnapped Jin’An), rescued him (the Jade Imperial Gu had finally completed its fusion with him at that point in time, and it didn’t get extracted at all).
As such, he got his memories back as they had to go back to the capital (the new Emperor /previous CP was very consistent, he did intend to force her to become his consort). However, DAD’s true origins get found out, his life is in danger, she lets him escape knowing he is DAD (there’s no personal bad blood with her father). DAD being the man in black is unknown to his own country. She gets imprisoned for letting DAD go, the evil Prime Minister kills her, DAD who is about to step onto his own territory finds out, he cannot leave her, and goes back to rescue at least her coffin.
The death is a ploy to lure out the PM but also DAD. DAD destroys a lot of warriors at the funeral, and the Wulin helps DAD and Li Shuang go back to the Wulin. She isn’t dead, the Emperor lets her go as if she were dead (her father asked the Emperor for it).
DAD cannot be the crown prince of his country anymore, his father (the emperor) told him not to come because his identity as the man in black who killed so many of their own generals and people got leaked out. The people wouldn’t possibly accept him. He has no choice but to live with Li Shuang in obscurity. In the novel, at least they still seem to be helping people in need as they travel. They get married when they travel.
I entirely agree with you, particularly when it comes to the female generals bit. In fact, I was glad that at least when she had her duel with Duan Ao Deng, she lost. Yes, she showed her resilience and determination, but biology cannot be denied. So at least, in that regard they still followed a rational outcome. This is perhaps the most important reason I enjoyed this a tiny bit more than LOTFG.
In the novels, these dramas are based on, the female generals’s battle prowess is written in a much more believable and realistic way, pity that LOTFG especially disregarded that.
I have rewatched this drama yet again, but I can’t find anything similar to it. Any recommendations? Please do bear in mind that I’ve watched loads of dramas 🤣
