Dramas like Love O2O had a huge novel fan base, hence the hype I believe. I personally believe it was a good adaptation (minus some awkward acting here and there), but it’s certainly not everybody’s cup of tea.
from the end credits, it seems there will be some kind of breakup b/w the lead couple due to the misunderstanding…
Ugh. The “breakup” in the novel could hardly be called that. While the FL was in the wrong so she was the one who felt very sorry, he forgave her pretty quickly. There were certainly no third parties. Why do they need to complicate everything in dramas??

The ankle got her carried like a princess haha. She got her fingers almost crushed so she made him feed her, button up her night dress and Goodness knows what else lmao
I’m rewatching it yet again, and with each viewing, I’m always in awe with the amazing father portrayals in this drama. Hong Joo and Jae Chan were blessed to have such amazing and loving fathers, unfortunately their blessing was short-lived.
I was right about Shi Yan being very low key about feelings and such. The book left no doubts about that haha

Shu Yi had 5 coffees while waiting because of Qin Lezhi (unknown at that time). She texted Shi Yan about it, saying that while their company’s coffee was good, if she had another one she’d throw up, he got super pissed off and called Director Qiu, who had already left for the day, picked up his son from school and was just about to have dinner with his family.
Director Qiu basically left his family and went to meet Shu Yi at the speed of sound. His secretary got Shu Yi into his office and explained that he was coming back to the office.
After the meeting Director Qiu chewed up Qin Lezhi so loudly all the employees on the floor heard about it.
I’ve finished reading the novel. It was actually a very easy read (thanks to the talented translator). I noticed some scenes and situations had been shifted around in the drama, others are entirely OG in the drama, but they definitely fit the story. Can’t wait for the grand reveal in the drama now!
