I'm actually Li Ni's type. I prefer my own freedom then again, the crucial part is when reality corner you to…
Li Ni has a very realistic view of what’s important, and the grandiose royal palaces are only a front to a lifetime of misery and political as well as family in-fighting. I’m like him as well.
Most of the senior actors showcase a high standard of acting, which really contrasts with some of the younger actors, whose portrayal of their characters is very so so. Thankfully, Xu Kai embodies a valiant but playful role really well, so it’s relatively easy to ignore some of the lesser acting.
Same! Because I read the novel, I was able to better understand the drama as well, despite the cut out scenes. It was a lovely story and the adaptation was carried out well.
In Princess Wei Young, they’d already done something very similar and it was acted much better as well, don’t even get me started on the chemistry of the actors since they got married irl after that drama. Sigh… I wish there would be more original stories and actors got casted on the basis of their skill and role suitability, not just fame.
Ah, so that’s what happened! No wonder… Xu Kai’s previous drama, Court Lady, also got cut a lot, which had a negative impact on people’s opinion of it. It was such a pity, the drama was otherwise really well done, and stuck closely to the novel as well. /sigh
P.S. Whom is Bai Lu kissing in your profile pic?
There have been almost no filler scenes, the plot has been solid so far.
