This is a gem, imma binge later
Agreed! It’s a gem for sure.

P.S. Whom is Bai Lu kissing in your profile pic?

When are new episodes coming out? So tired of waiting. C-dramas have spoiled me with 5-8 episodes coming out per week.

The father of Li Ni is absolute trash. If I were Li Ni, I would’ve had his father exiled instead of brought to the Tong Pass.

I'm actually Li Ni's type. I prefer my own freedom then again, the crucial part is when reality corner you to…
Li Ni has a very realistic view of what’s important, and the grandiose royal palaces are only a front to a lifetime of misery and political as well as family in-fighting. I’m like him as well.

In the book she fainted from exhaustion of digging grave (shallow one since she's not fit due to her injury) for…
Ah, I see! Thanks for the explanation!

They showed what she did after waking up
I loved all the pairings in that drama, as well as the teachings on governance. It was truly enjoyable.

Makes sense! It’s just a pity about these rubbish rules, the gov keeps coming up with, and the length of the drama has to be adjusted post-production.

Most of the senior actors showcase a high standard of acting, which really contrasts with some of the younger actors, whose portrayal of their characters is very so so. Thankfully, Xu Kai embodies a valiant but playful role really well, so it’s relatively easy to ignore some of the lesser acting.

Same! Because I read the novel, I was able to better understand the drama as well, despite the cut out scenes. It was a lovely story and the adaptation was carried out well.

In Princess Wei Young, they’d already done something very similar and it was acted much better as well, don’t even get me started on the chemistry of the actors since they got married irl after that drama. Sigh… I wish there would be more original stories and actors got casted on the basis of their skill and role suitability, not just fame.

I entirely agree with Li Ni. The palace is nothing but a gilded cage. Which loving parent would want their children born and raised in misery??

They showed what she did after waking up
Ah, so that’s what happened! No wonder… Xu Kai’s previous drama, Court Lady, also got cut a lot, which had a negative impact on people’s opinion of it. It was such a pity, the drama was otherwise really well done, and stuck closely to the novel as well. /sigh

I know, but the transition is beyond bizarre.

Started watching it. In ep 3, she faints but at the start of ep 4, she walks as if nothing’s happened. Have I missed anything…

I love this drama. Kim Young Dae is beyond intense in this one! Can’t wait to see how the story unfolds.

There have been almost no filler scenes, the plot has been solid so far.
