Title Bad Family
why did they suddenly change the title on here? it was bad family before and even had a different picture. i don't…
I definitely agree that the change is confusing and perhaps unnecesary in this case. But they change it because they want to make MDL as great as possible and asinawiki gives it as a title so someone must have concluded this must be the best official title. But most search results will still be for "Bad Family"; hancinema retains it as the title too and itls a part of a series of "Bad.." things.

As for posters, there is a MDL thread that asks for changing cover images to higher res ones, when available and if needed. This is meant to make MDL a better site overall :)

hahaha! I agree about teenagers writing most of idol dramas on the whole not just taiwanese. So true. But on ocassion k0dramas do things right too, at least theyre have been quite a few which were entertaining but Japanese are better with covneying messages and doing it in a en tertaining manner. Some time ago there was a thread complaining that Japanese don;t have broadcast outside Japan or don;t sub their own dramas something like this. The responses given there was that they aren;t aware of their popularity outside..and I say this is exactly a very good thing. If international youth started affecting japanese dramas, we;d be headed for a disaster.

You're welcome. I tried to give you as much of a insight as possible. Sometimes this doeasn't work so I'll keep wondering if you drop it or not heh.

The good thing about anime is that eps are only 30 mins long so it halves the number of episodes by two, really. That's why I find myself watching anime much faster myself. Well, unless it;s a more involving story like Monster. Monster took me quite a bit of time to watch if only because I was taking notes on what's happening.

I tend to find that great plot ideas in dramas very often fail becaise of poor execcution or cast. It's always a shame to see the potential wased/. What annoys you the most in kdramas?

But then it's the sam with everything. Strong feelings are involved and people are unable to communicate. I tend to think that if aliens came to examine our human race as a whole, they would reach the same conclusion:

"Human Race: unable to listen to each other because of selfish conviction that only side a is right and side b cannot be right at all."

It's sad. But that's why on the whole we are failing as a race. Conflicts are always about strong beliefs and those strong beliefs blind us to the rights of another side. Dramaland shows that on a very miniature and lighter scale but the principles are very similar.

Hahaha. i think I remember that scene. Definitely. What's Himuro without his robot or his crystal vase (Himuro Christmas Special :P) or the conductor's baton XD Three exclusive versions (at least) could be made XD

There's no helping rude people but it's mostly obsessive defensive teens who do that. Think they can say whatever and however they want because they are anonymous. They are also mostly very young mentally.

The same defensive fans sometimes seem to think they can be offensive about the tastes of others without being told the same things they say about someone who disagrees with them. They seem to immediately take offense at anything that disagrees with them. I used to be very affected by this, it made my blood boil and it remains one of my pet peeves. But lately, even if i get annoyed, I just nod.

Bottom line is, there is no use getting affected by it. Pointless provocations by immature fans should be responded to in some polite way but ignored otherwise. There are better things to spend energy on.

The word dabeak is of particular annoyance to me as well. It's use in English is just annoying somehow, I can't even explain it. It gives of a vibe that people are trying to be "hipster" and as a result it also sounds pretentious.

Hahaa this sounds like a lot of fun XD I will give the age issue a break and assume the 22 year old detective is a genius XD He reminds me of Himuro from the drawings on the website. Ohhh see! Another plushie toy to join our plush army would most certainly need to be Himuro XD I think.

There were more things I wanted to write but somehow I can;t gather my thoughts enough for the moment.

I agree. I'm pretty sure Cho Seung Wo was the major reason for this drama suddenly becoming a masterpiece. I 'd go one step further and say this drama was written for him. He's a movie star turned drama star after all. I'm glad you were able to express your genuine opinion at least on the feeds. It's yours, it's well argued.

Only very petty people or ultra defensive fans would hold that against you. Like in reviews, you get popularity vote of people agree with your review. To heck with that. You have more interesting things to say :) And i really believe that if you keep at it, at your own position, you will be heard by the right people. Just do your thing and it will find its audience, people willing to talk constructively :)

22 yeard old detectives? That's an impossible feat to achieve. I found this info on the game's website, well the localized version. Maybe they messed it up. I find it difficult to believe that a detective would be 22 years old XD What you're saying is then probably correct and the site is somehow wrong.

I see so they are prolonging the guessing game to the end. Well, that was to be excpected but the king and his daughter should reunite if only for a moment with the full knowledge of what they are.

Well I hope i won't disappoint that faith then, thanks for your enouragement :) Hahaha, FASSY? XD Now I started to imagine a fattie plushie with fassenbender's face dressed, for some reason, in a musketeer's outfit XD

I agree though Fassenbender was a bit too hollywoody for my taste. I was somehow drawn to Toby Stephen version but I have not seen the Timothy Dalton version yet. Adaptations of these books are always challenging, but I guess we are given a lot of different visions to explore. It's like with Shakespeare and Austen. What's surprising is that they tend to bring something fresh each time.

Have you ever heard of

we watch dramas under some emotion and the score ends up too high for what the drama deserves anyway. A drama needs time to cool off before doubts appear. I am kind of disappointed by how the word "masterpiece" gets thrown about so much, though. Every other drama seems to be a "masterpiece".

I"m sure you have very good and thought-out reasons for having your reservations about the drama. I'd say that's great! And difference of opinion is great too, doesn't that make us all richer? :) So, was it the plot that didn't work out for you or something else or you just didn't feel the "vibe"? Maybe it just wasn't the right time to watch it?

Don't feel that way. Your review is yours alone. If you don't feel the same way as others, why should you feel odd about it? Your reviews are usually very balanced. They are needed especially when fans get carried away with praising the show. If you have reservations about it, that's great! I"m sure you have good reasons for it too!

I think most mdlers on the feeds will be just curious as to why you didn't quite enjoy it but so far they have been respectful of your opinion, no matter what it was. I think once the excitement is over more reservations will start cropping up. The thing with wildly popular dramas is the same: they are hyped up by a number of fans who are already prejudiced on the basis of cast.

Then the anxiety of waiting for the next episodes adds the tension. Ultimately,

THey found a unique way to tell the story too. The metaphor was really interesting and the fast flashbacks and flash forwars at the beginning were what pulled me in so much. Plus, that song! Really created the mood.

Well, I'm glad you found intriguing! This is a rare treat, a drama like this. This is what I'd call a little gem among thousand stories which deal with the same thing in an ordinary way.

Yes! The flutters are there from the start, I was immediately drawn to the Prince when I saw how righteous-minded he is. And then his instant recognition of Solnana is making me give him two thumbs up.

I just wonder, and this is a question I do want you to answer, just a short answer will do: yes or no, I'm not asking you to get into details if you think it will be too spoilery. But I just need to know. Does the king ever learn about Solnan? According to my familarity with this kind of stories, I suspect he may well die before truth reaches him, and that's a little disappointing, considering he loved Che Hwa a lot and should know that Solnan is the real thing. After all there are vague prohpecies in the early episodes, something about "his own crying outside the nest", while he is harbouring a changeling. They are so vague though, how is anyone to know?

ha. Totally agree with everything else though. That's why I never publish my fanfics either. I finished the dias scene by now but I keep hesitating whether or not it's in character but then there are words which sound right to me and changing them now may potentially destroy the image I had. Ah. I'll have to replay that exact moment to envisage it again. Still, writing it was a good therapy for me to get over the disappointment.

I don't really expect pure visual otome novels to have great depth, just be moderately fun and relaxing and hopefully have decent writing. I just find it kind of strange that a police inspector would be 22 years old. Isn't that too young? I have a feeling I might like Subaru myself but I am bothered by the exaggeratedly young age. He could be 27 or 28 just as well. The rest of the cast seemed to be aged just fine. At least the protagonist is 18 which makes her adult enough to do as she chooses. >>

Ah yes! Rochester and Jane. Can't say I'm surprised at your choice. Both characters were like lost souls seeking home and their individual stories were tragic, much like their own love had that tragic edge too. Which of the movie versions did you like the most? I confess that I found the latest adaption to be widly spot on with mood and Jane herself. Mia to me encapsulaes the vulnerability and youth of the character.

It's interesting what you say about tense though. i do tend to get irritated at present tense but it's because it;s not well used. Present tense is a very viable tense to tell a story, though it does verge on the pretentious to me. Are you also bothered by the use of first-person persepctive? I understand the motivation behind it, it's to try and become more connected with the character but that, in turn, has the tendency to verge on the Mary Sue-ish kind of writing.

The plot is largely based on mistaken identities and switched places. Two princes who were switched at birth meet two sisters, one of whom is the long-lost daughter of the current king. So far the story unfolds well, being very watchable. There are a lot of other things going on.

The Crown Prince in the story or the mute Kucheon are examples of characters that draw me in. But the sister of the main character-ah. You can expect to be frustrated with her a lot, since she's the villain. But as I say she has humane motivations that are understandable.

Solnan, the main character, is wise, strong and determined and she quickly draws the attention of the Crown Prince. He is quick to recognize the merits she has and that's what makes me kind of excited to see how this relationship develops. Solnan's motivations are born of pure love and devotion for her family.
