aww lol. must be quite the fun for him :D But I"m glad to hear he's doing well too.

Work is going okay for me, but anime world has consumed me completely. I"m watching a thoroyughly brilliant, thought provoking complex anime called monster. it;s excellent. I also watched death note but I liked it much less than moster. I don;t think I will be back to dramaland in a while yet but I like to pop by and have a chat with people so Log on MDL anyway.

I haven't been so well myself. My grandma passed away yesterday so I am a little sad. It was her time to go but still..I was very attached to her. I'm not in the country right now and parent decided to organose the funeral at short notice. The heat has been very oppressive and so it';s impossible to put it away..so due to duties here I won;t even manage to attend the funeral :( But my dad, as her son, told me not to come either. He told me she wouldn;t mind either..I suppose, but still.

Monster is still going strong, even though I am depressed.

-.- I said all I felt about this on MAL, although I may have said too much. Truth be told, Bokami, it shouldn't surprise me though. Shows which require patience and involvement aren't for everyone. I wonder though...you seemed to be surprised that I dig Monster so much. why if I may ask?

Oh, that's brilliant! The little details or facts you are told in class aren't always the most important;It's good when students don't take notes if they listen; taking notes is distracting overall, especially in class and especially if students are provided with lecture slides anyway.They can consult facts in other sources.Or come and ask. I think a lot of teachers who enjoy teaching would like their students to just listen to them and take in the big picture. Thinking back about my own undergrad studies, I only took notes when the lecturers were unable to tell a coherent narrative that I could absorb, when they couldn't convey the big picture. But in personal study notes help to record impressions and develop further understading. Also, over time, I can go back and consult them to see why I thought I understand something and build on that. I just find it very enrichening.

:D Well withr efreshed energy I"m sure you'll find it! :D How much time do you have left in college? How is Achilles? Well when it comes to anime, it;s a first for me but I found something that has really absorbed for the time being and I'm very happy trying to piece the clues in the narrative together, it leeps my mind off things and keeps me busy in the little free time that I do have Otherwise I'm busy with my own work myself. Have fun catching up here. :)

in general I would say, it depends on what is your overall approach. For me it's a method of studying texts, and I consider visual material to be texts as well and some of them I want to analyse. In order to analyse I need to understand it thoroughly. although true it can be dangerous if you're too involved.

Hmm. I'm not so sure focusing on one thing at a time is a bad thing. I am a focused person. I don't tend to do ten things at once because I won;t be able to finish them then. I finish one thing and go to the next. I dislike watching several things at once in particular because it takes away from my involvement. I don't think dreams are an issue at all. It;s like with good book. I only want to read one book when it;s very engrossing and I also make very detailed notes. Call it a habit- i am doing a literary PhD and in the process of working both on my Masters and now PhD I gradually learned to make notes in order to process what I'm reading and make it my own. This approach generates further thoughts and becomes very transformative. I apply similar process to everything, but most of all to books and anything I may watch, if I find it worthwhile to do so.

There are very few shows that make me live with them. When it happens it;s a tremendous stimulus for me. I love such things. They expand me in some ways. I get over the addictuon fast and it doesn;t interfere with anything else I have to do. I do agree it may be a bad thing sometimes though.

It's not that. It;s just that I"ve grown to really care for the struggling characters. The main three of them have become really connexcted and I see them as a family, actually, snaturally my inclination is to want them to see somehow content or at least get rid of the burden and struggles they are facing now. I want to see some light at the end of the tunnel in the other words, so far those lights have been a little misleading which is leading me to despair for the characters. I identify with them strongly, I feel sorry for them, I am angry at them, I try to understand them and then I feel pity again. It's a roller-coaster for me with this one. But I just want to see some hope. Death note is faster-paced but to moe more primitive in some aspects but bith can be appreciated for different things.

Well, I do think that being in the right mood in general helps enjoy something more, but with tear-jerkers in particular. But I always find that good tear jerkers will make me cry no matter what and I need that because I find it catherthic, such stories always change something in me. I like to change.

The more we talk the more I think Monster is a good anime for you. I really wonder
how you will see the main character and his change over time. Also, I reached episode 47 of the series but I"m growing too excited and I had to stop, or otherwise I would peek at later episodes because the story has reached a point where I actually want the characters to be all right, bit I"m not sure they will be.

ah, my bad. of course he doesn't. well, But..just think what would happen if Johann "devoured" light and assumed his experiences and identity. That would be scary and a an end of the world situation.

CRAZY4YOU! YAY :D So glad to see you're back. I thought you mau have been extremely busy. That's good to hear that you're seem to be finding inspiration to come back. I do hope you will find it. I think after such a long break watching dramas will be refreshing again and there have been many many great ones. I"m saying that but I"m currently out of drama mood myself- drifting deep in animeland instead. But so good to see you're ok.

Light would never get him in the first place....if he would, even god of death would run away in fear. And Light would probably never get his name right, Johann can be anyone after all and Light would not be able to learn his real name. Hmm, or would he? He;s got gods of death on his side, wouldn;t it be easy for gods of death to just find out? Knowing the real name, getting rid of Johann wouldn;t be much of a problem. BUT then there is a matter of identifying his face, Johann could keep hiding. Well either way Johann wins.
