so, how are things in your dramaland?

I was hoping to encourage someone t watch monster but like your friend my friend hates anime too and doesn;t understand the appeal at all. Too bad. Because Monster is having such an inflience on me I have serious doubts whether I will return to dramas, or even anime. Things really don't get much better than this one. I am watching this series very carefully and do recaps after every episode in order not to miss anything on this journey. I love the story I'm just so worried about Tenma. he;s such a nice character, in essence, but is given to a serious trial. I worry about other characters too. You know, Monster reminds me of Heart of Darkness by Conrad a little. Lunarm thank you for listetning to my rants about monster. :D I think I'd go a little insane otherwise :D

I"m sure we can find something else to talk about. It's not like I"ll stop coming around, Yeona. You ARE a friend. I will just focus on something else- movies. It's just that monster is so much better than anything else I"ve seen, drama will be difficult to get back to but I"m sure as long as I take a break I will eventually feel the drama urge. I am sure something nice will come along but I have never been this stimulated by any drama. It only comes close to excellent movies. If/When I do return to dramas, I'm pretty sure I won't be looking at them in the same way ever again. In the meantime I still have my blog challenge to finish- likeable characters from dramas and I will likely start a new anime cirner, like you suggested. Oh I know I will rewatch Barbie first after finishing with Monster.

That's why I"m happy I don;t own a TV. I'm afraid though that Monster is involving me so much that I am being cured of my interest in dramas. The anime is exceeding any drama I've seen to date. let alone anime. I feel like I'm being pulled into something irreversible with this. I want to finish this story but after that I think I will go on a very long break from watching anything. I just discovered the picture book you were alluding to. It comes late in the Munich arc and it's clear from what I've seen that it affected Johann. The story about a monster with no name but who wanted to belong? It souns like Johann. I'm gettin very worked up over this anime. NOTHING ever has had an effect on me like this. I have never identified with characters in any drama this strongly. The story is so deep I'm drowning but I"m also afraid to continue-this is a first.

The story reminds me a lot about Heart of Darkness. Mostly because of the monster-darkness theme They will do a live action in american version (HBO) but I'm so unhappy about it :( the live actions from animes are usually terrible grr. you do not meddle with perfection. I hate live actions made from most anime. Death note live action was so lame that I fast forwarded it, the anime was very good. I think after I finish monster i will go on a long break from watching anything. This one exceeds my expectations for even a drama. It transcends forms of film making because the story is very well done. I am unlikely to see a drama as good as an anime called monster in a million years. In fact after monster I may be unlikely to return to anime or dramas. Sorry for writing so much about it. I"m completely caught in the story. Thanks for your patience :) Have a great day yourself :)

Yes, it's long, it's 74 episodes. It's excellent it just makes me really too vested in the problems it poses and seems to play with my mind a lot. Especially since I"m watching very carefully and trying to udnerstand all of characters, and there are a lot of interesting characters and all of them are important for the narrative. It's a very carefully executed story. I even keep regular blog about every episode I watch because I don't want to miss anything and each episode compells me to keep writing. I'm scared what will happen, especially since the antagonist is a really complex character and not easy to figure out at all. Not sure he's antagonist either. In a way watching this is like reading a complex classic novel. Hehe. It's probably one of few shows that don't do that. I'm glad you are able to enjoy it without the flaws you may otherwise find irksome :)

I think watching death note first is a better idea, actually. You may be inclined to compare two different models of thinking but Death note is child's play in comparison to monster. Right now though I reached another point in the story where I am almost scared to continue, I am so worried what will happen,the episode just watched actually left me with a stinking feeling at the pit of my stomach. I"m pretty sure I will never look at anime in the same way again. Yes, I heard of God's quiz but somehiw I was never interested enough to watch it but it sounds like it;s your thing :) Are there many errors? :D

Bardzo lubie tez Horse doctor z sympatycznym Cha Seung Won, poza tym postac ktora gra jest szalenie sympatyczna, dobra i relatable. Hmm. za fusion saeguks a la queen inhyun's man nie przepadam osobiscie bo malo tam "miesa" a duzo :fluff", ale zle sie nie ogladlao wcale. Arang and the MAgistrate mnie zanudzil totalnie na smierc ale mam nadzieje ze Gu Family Book bedzie sie dobrze ogladac. Jak Ci sie podoba?

Monster is about a Japanese doctor who, asa consequence of his ethical decisions, is led on chaser-like quest to discover the identity and modus opernadi of his antagonist, a mysterious man without a real name...the anime os just fantastic. Some fragments are genuinely chilling. And the anime raises questions about various "monsters", about "natire vs nurture debatE", about children and about the right kill and about who is good or bad and whether or not we can judge it. it;s incredibly rich and complex. It's amazing! Moreover, it takes place in post Berlin wall germany, where extremist groups are still going strong. It's incredible, incredible storytelling, incredible characters. I"m trying to keep them in mind. I apply them to what I see. I see various connections but it's not crystalised yet. I need to see the entire story first I think to fully grasp it. Well I have no such problems since I don;t have a TV anyway. I tried watching live action for feath note. it was horrible.

The David Silvano one? It's very good. I love the voice. And the song actually matches the theme, I'd say. Not going down without a fight etc. I just don't think any anime can get as good as monster at this point. But I know they are going to make into an live action american tv series -.- I hate the very thought of it.Why must they copy. But anyway, I don'y know the details, Bokami only mentioned it to me and frankly I"m not interested in any stupid remakes. I really get defensive when I hear about remakes of perfectly perfect shows. Unless the new version wqill offer its own spin, but I doubt it. all they do is try to copy.

:D It depends. For me Monster is way better. It;s in a league of its own. A tremendously involving story without being annoying like death note. This is niot a kid's story. This is an adults man journey to seek answers and satisfy his obsession. the antagonist is incredible. A whole host of characters whom you learn to try and understand and they are all connected to the idea of "monster" in some way. So much better for me than death note. There is just so much here.How are you doing?

Hi ^^ Well sounds like Bokurano really abosrbed you. Monster is ridiculously good. ridiculously. So much better than Death Note..Monster is in a league of its own, on an entirely different level than Death Note. I don;t think I will ever see an aniome as good as Monster. I love Tenma. He's a man of genuine talent and this journey is proving to be very enlightening for him. But too bad. Everyone seems to be obsessed with something in this drama. Anna and Tenma with Johann and revenge, Lunge and Eva with Tenma (don;t they make nice partners XD) Johann with fear and terror...the overall monster of the story seems to be both greed and fear. With every episode I am almost afraid to continue. For now I'm at the episode where Eva confesses to Roberto that she's witnessed the murder of Junkers by Johann..and trades this for infor about Tenma's whereabouts. It's episode 24.
