That really would have been a shame. He didn;t really seem to me the type and actually I never even heard of this suicide attempt until it was mentioned on the feeds. So what's your next drama target?

Yeah, they do >< I haven't seen it so I can't comment. But this is the result of education and not reading books. Intellect dulls without some sort of stimulation to keep it going. I haven't seen any of the famed 2013 movies yet >< I'm so behind. There are a couple burning ones that I'd like to see, Wolf is one of them though I am rather afraid to watch it. Well, Maybe later..
Too bad, it really sounded promising the way you described the first episodes. But I will probably still give it a go one day but I don;t think I will make it a priority. Thank you for your review and opinion, as always spot on :) I really trust your reviews, you know so keep them coming :)
See, I was quick to judge Kojima-san but in the end I felt really sorry for her indeed. Endou-Otousan was such a coward >< I"m glad he decided to try and understand his wife's position and make an effort to work it out. Yeah I guess the detective was kind of the Stranger who could objectively judge the situation and indeed he never got really involved, instead saw things for what they were. Including the Dad.
I saw you finished Ashita and gave it an 8, did the show not keep up the expectations (nightmares you had of it?
Voice is what you offer to the world and hope it can hear you. Fiction is losing its power to influence in a positive manner, though. While things that influence us negatively may increase. Like the Wolf of WallStreet. Texchnically it it is a warning against but to promote a living criminal this way....i even read comments under articles from people who worship the man >< it really scares me.

Hi! Yes! It was excellent! The mood and suspense were all very good and the drama covered a LOT of ground and it still managed to be very emotional. Those Japanese..they just keep surprising me! :D

too wrapped up in the emotions I was seeing on screen. I really thought it was Endou Otousan for a while, until he showed what a coward he is. Well he was still complicitous somewhat but that detective, he KNEW anyway and he was very kind all the way through. Aish. Why is it that detective seemed somehiw a better man than anyone else? It didn;t help that he was friends with Endou Okasaan. My imagination started running wild.
I do think theyre are too many standard detective dramas but i guess they are the same as k romcoms in this respect. I just watched the closing film, it seemed like an emotional romance melodrama. Maybe i;ll watch it after all. the ending was kind of nice. heh.

I share the sentiment Reise. YOU often put into very precise words what I sometimes think haha. Your command of langiage and words is really incredible. I think you;d make an excellent writer of any kind (are you planning to go up the writer path?) Your reviews are perfect. But finding your voice..whether in fiction or academic writing is an altgoether different story. I fear emulation too, if only because I don;t want to be, as a writer, just "another one". I have to have a voice. I;m only beginning to develop it at the end of my PhD. As long as I am true to my feelings and opinions, though, I will always have a voice and it will always be original, no matter what I write about. So I think we both should just keep writing and developing the voice :)
I don't think I csan pick one at the moment. The first time, I was too busy trying to guess who actually killed the doctor and

watched the finale movie. I don't know what I want now. Maybe I;ll swotch to something else. I sdon;t know. I;ll prbably mope around for a while :D It;s always annoying, isn't it, since you finish a drama and then you seem to have a problem deciding what next to do with your poor drama addicted self :P I may start President, though. Sometimes it;s only difficult to begin. Once the narrative pulls you in..it's a whole different pair of shoes!

Ultimately, the drama covered so much territory and STILL pulled of suspense and whodunnit. Moreover I felt at times like I was taking part in a :Murder Mysery: arty, because those episodes had opening chinks which focused on one character at a time. So it felt like they were trying to convince the viewer, to make the viewer believe. It;s also a very rare opportunity to see such personal close-up shots. It;s very introspective, this narrative. This is how you tell stories. Japanese surely are masters storyllers, be it on tv or in literature.
That's what I'd like to know as well. I spent most of the evening trying to settle on something. So instead I started writing something. I seem to have lost a bit of the mood, or maybe Yakou was just great beyond words :D I briefly switched on a fragment of some taiwanese romance, something about Fierce wife, but I didnt bother with the drama, I just
This sounds interesting. I don't care how many episodes it has. :D But I'll watch Amachan first. :determined:

Greatest Love was seriously better than this, at least it had some better lines at times. What made not ignore it completely is the fact that it did focus on the gentlemen. But after having this talk with you, I"m considerint gadding to my dropped list again. It's a really poor drama that pretends to be good. It;s so annoying!

lol, it WAS fan service. The writer can do better than she has with this drama, I think. Yeah, the father-son had a lot of potential and Jung Rok and then the two young biys were funny hehe. what did you think about Yoon and Meahri in the end? I really shook my head at this- they marry with some really weird vows and then the frst thing she has to do is to clean up after the guys party after the wedding. Sheesh.

Indeed. The drama was really rich in content and great for some discussion. It pointed fingers right at the issues that are burning and opertinent: rat race, peer pressure, abuse and bullying, inferiority, insecurity, desire for perfection, jealousy. We pay too much attention to what others say or think and as a result we start losing sight of our own feelings and needs. And moreover it consistently kees the suspense. Pretty admirable to achieve. But Ayaka's rage was a bit too much for me to handle at times. I think they went a little overboard.
Frankly I don't know what to watch and at the moment I don't feel like deciding. I'll just go with something randomly at the spur of the moment, as usual lol. But I don't know yet. I may actually go watch "Go". You have made me think about Kubozuke :P

lovable huh :D you can bet it's going to my drama line XD Yakou watches as a really original offering in the drama family.
So in he end I saw you gave AGD a 7. How do you feel about it?
A really interesting drama for me. The ensemble cast was really interesting, especially Kojima-san. So many issues…
How much can we take the pressure to have the perfect house, to be the perfect neightbour, perfect perfect always perfect. But it's always darkest in the light. The before and the after ferrish wheel. The up and down of the ferris wheel. Does the view change? Or does the perspective of the viewer change?
A really interesting drama for me. The ensemble cast was really interesting, especially Kojima-san. So many issues and at the same time a lot of suspense. A suspenseful family drama. Only in Japan. I liked how it was structured around the ferris wheel metaphor and how it went back and forth between the past and the day of the incident to create the mood.
There is hope for the family, as long as there is a will to understand each other and work together. Endou Otousan was really disappointing most of the time, while Endou Okaasan was the martyr. How much a mother can take? and nearly everyone had an inferiority complex...but such are the pressures society puts on everyone. We enter in a rat race, even with ourselves.

Well you gave it a 10 so I think it wasn't anything terrible. Other than the drama will probably prolong the revelation of secrets. After all Crown Prince was switched at birth with the other guy and Solnan is the King's Daughter. There are many secrets.
That's good to hear, Edina. Take care of yourself. Was it a good movie?

Yes! Yakou Laransha is a very good suspense family story. lots of action, suspense and family drama, very strong emotions.
