I think dramas like Yakou can be onky made in Japan :) Soredemo is definitely more lyrical and it's a different story. The only similarity is that they both have a crime and show an after-effect of a crime and how it affects people. In Soredemo it's more aboit the process of fogiving each other. soredemo is just so deeply humane like no drama I have seen so far. Yakou offers a different approahc. It;s really hard to describe. Eh. Well I hope it will become clearer when you finished Soredemo. But I hope Ashita will stay good.

Hi Mrmz. I'm replying here because you may not see my answers on the feeds. Re Kubozuke. I haven;t seen west gate park yet but my next thing of his will be likely movie Go. As for Yakou, it;s a really good drama. A family suspense drama..only made in Japan XD It points the finger at a certain problem but like soredemo it deals with the effect of a crime on two famialies and entire neighbourhood. It also points to deeper problems in society and generally concerns itself with people who have low self worth. There is a lot of rage in this drama. I wonder why is it that people refuse to communicate truthfull with each other. Very good., suspensful.

XD You know what my speculation about the ending of that T-drama was? The step sister goes to the past and no one remembers her so she creates another paradox in which no one knows anyone any more XD

I hate to admit, the drama is pretty good. I just can;t believe how much those feelings escalated. Poor Endou. The drams brings out all the judgmentality and byllying and stimgatisation,. You know, both soredemo and this one deal with how a crime affects two families. But Soredemo is deeper and slightly more philosophical and psychological. This one is more supensful but it doeas not avoid the psychology. It;s just that Soredemo is somehow more philoisophical while this one is more critical of society overall.

Well I haven;t watched either :D So I have no previous bias against or in favour of the writer. I hope they do well.

It's a really suspensful drama. Suspense family drama. Only in Japan. Lots of content to bite into aside from the suspense and it brings out strong emotions. It's quite dangerous. Every family has its secrets and I"m sttarting to think we may never really know the real truth. THe shiny happy family is usually the darkest one. It's always the darkest below the light...and pace is great too. Pretty darn good for the suspense+ family combo :D

Yes, I think you wrote about this in your review. I guess, though, it's hard not to judge through the perspective of one's own culture and experiences. I do like shows which provoke such strong feelings as they do here. Especially when characters are relatable to some extent.

i loved your comparison of Deja Vu. A friend summarised the drama for me because I was considering watching it. And it sounded exactly like that. First the girl goes to the past but he doeasn;t remember her. Then the girl has an accident and he tries to change the past >< And there is the crazy step sister. I sometomes wonder who writes these Taiwanese dramas. A good and coherent plot is such a rarity for T-dramas.

...but I"m really feeling sorry for all of them. In particular because the mentality of the residents of the town is mostly narrow-minded and elitist. It;s so easy to just feel sorry for yourself. When the neighbourhood ladies were cruelly teasing Endou for working part time, I wanted her to stop shying away and be PROUD of the fact that she tries hard and tell those ladies that this is what she does and NOT bleed internally like a martyr and just hide her real feelings again. She's like always on the verge of breaking, I feel that if she felt more confident she would be more free. Screw society, be your own person. The girl seems more than emotionally unstable though more than any teeneager.

Hi Edina thank you :) edina, tell me did the Crown Prince change a lot during the middle episodes? I love him in the initial episodes but I feel he may become a lovesick puppy later on.

For now I am watching Yakou Kanransha. A very interesting story with interesting imagery.

Interesting. I may have to have a look. This particular title is appealing rather than weird.

I love the Ferrish wheel image too. I think Endou-san is really on edge. Everyone either hates on her or takes her for granted. what is she to do? I really sympathise with her. Her daughter shouldn;t be saying things she may regret saying as an adult. Inconsiderate. I am in the middle of episode 3 and she really seems to be taking everything to heart. That is very destructive. She has Junko, it;s a really nice friendship. Junko is a nice and bright person though she worries too. the girl is going through difficult stage but she's being really insolent and the young actress gets on my nerves.

lol I guess it is a little ironic :D But well his heart was troubled but very loving :) I really didn;t like that doctor. I found him insanely boring and kind of lacking personality.

Is beyond the cloud keeping up your interest in an even way. It;s finishing soon, I hope the ending will be to your liking.

Well, that is true actually. But overall the execution of the drama is pretty impressive and it seems to have a complex story.

It's one time I am angry with someone for posting spoilers, a drama like this shouldn;t be spoiled AT ALL. I don't mind them for romantic dramas but for suspense dramas they are killers >< And I looked that the page to read your reviews >< Posting that it's about inferiority complex seems to be a big spoiler, unless I"m wrong? I hope I"m wrong.

Yes, I hated TGL initially. I thought it was stupid and shallow. But it's not that shallow to me anymore. In fact I like the devotion the lead shows for Go Eun Ae or however her name goes. I'm terrible with Korean names haha. The dialogues are actually very good and the drama is immersive.

I started it because Ding Dong calmed my heavy heart XD

And so far it;s pretty amazing. I like how it goes back and forth between past and present, the music is Great and I like the concept. The time lapse is great!

The family cannot fit in with new town. Than woman is really hateful, Kojin-san. She does everything she can to make Endou look stupid. sheesh. And then the daughter is going through a difficult phase, or is it more? I can imagine this family is dysfunctional. They do not talk about what bothers them they pretend everything is normal. The daughter just says she failed the exam? Really? Say what;s on your mind, that you feal like a failure, don;t pretend it;s all right sheesh. The comments on the drama page say it's about inferiority complex and that much seems to be clear.

haha they do, don't they? Those secretaries and aides are usually such good people. This is one thing I love about k-dramas: even in the midst of hysterical melodrama you will usually find some stability in that likeable aide or confidante character. Hooray for winsome side characters :D

Well I moved on from Cinderella to the Greatest Love. I"m afraid I was terribly unjust to the show before. it's ctually the better offering of Hing sister and the story is cute. I kind of felt for the top star in the end: to have fans who wish death for his wife is not fun at all. I like that actually that they kind of quasi-parodied the celebrity obsession. This is why park shi Hoo is actually lucky. He has fans whp;d die for him instead. But either way, extremities are never good.

I really was too harsh on TGL befoore...I think I really need to rewatch most of the shows I dropped 0.0

a supporting role in Chaser drama, which is also a pretty good story, if only because the main character remains so noble throughout it and there is this strong friendshi, again. I'm really nuts abot strong friendship on screen. I don't know why but the word bromance doeasn't sit too well with me, though, I prefer to call it the old-fashioned way.

Yes. Hope is based on a true story that happened only in 2008. It;s very recent that's why I'm kind of in double minds about it. THe film reopens wounds that haven't healed completely. So even if well-intentioned, it has been definitely mistimed. But then again maybe it wasn't. It depends how you look at it. This like that make me become more and more misanthropic, to be honest.

Well Daemul had a strong narrative. Cinderella man is a relaxed watch if you can tolerate the good old-fashioned love square XD I am okay with that, it seems to be soothung me a lot too. But the prince and pauper theme is nice. I enjoy Kwang Sang Woo;s character's interactions with a certain elderly gentleman Secretary, the two of them are too cute XD

That man, the father actor, is all over the place. He clearly works very hard. He was also

Nah. Parallel was entertaining through and through and the suspense kept building up so I was glued to the screen. It was noce to see Ji Jin Hee well used for a change, too. I enjoyed reading your review as always :)

Ah, Wonderful Days. Dimples *_* I'm really glad to see Dimples on screen again. The story will likely be okay for me i like the characters and I like the tension between the lead girl and LSJ. It looks like other characters are being set up for their own romances too but I am princiaplly looking forward to seeing how the family relations develo[. There are three brothers altogether so I hope there will be lots of interaction in future episodes. It's a family drama though there is a revenge theme.
