I watched this drama in 3 days. I really really loved how it portraited a mature and a realistic relationship. I also really liked how each character developed and how Hong Do had slowly opened to the world. I agree with some of the people here who said that it was a little bit lacking in the psychological part which Hong Do didn't really have A LOT of work on her problem or how Ko Yi Seok treated his patients... I think that I was a bit disappointed that at the beginning this drama was so refreshing, heart warming with a good message of loving yourself and others, became a Kdrama-cliche toward the end. It's a good thing that the family finally started talking about this issue, but it was so unnecessary that it had to involve Hong Do like every other drama...The good point in my opinion, is that even thought it was like this, I could see that this was written from the beginning (I mean, that I don't think that there was a pressure on the writers from outside or something) as it was handled maturely with both of the characters meet up, fight, try to move on, and then get back together in a realistic way after trying everything. Most dramas don't do that usually. I also really liked the OST and Se Ro was the cutest <3. I think that because it was so interesting I kept on watching it so fast so maybe I missed out some of the nuances (like KoYiSeok being a bipolar?) so I'll probably rewatch it again soon. Overall, I really enjoyed this drama. I rarely see such dramas that the main couple warms my heart so much and makes me want to have a relationship myself. I liked the fact that Hong Do and YiSeok loved each other even though they lack in some ways. A unique and special drama. 8.5/10
I liked how this movie portraited such a complex issue. In everything I've seen so far (on those years) , Korean people of that time were only "black" or "white" but here we can see how one character/ person can wave all the time and how much people are way much complicated- even when LJC was in the Japanese side, he still had this connection to Korea, and while helping the Korean side, he felt unsafe. Along with the cinematography, the use of the colors and the season, it could really portrait that "age of shadows" . Really enjoyed this. 9/10
I think that as a drama, 100 Days My Prince was enjoyable enough. Each episode wasn't boring and it kept you interested (I didn't felt that it was dragging like lots of other drams) but it's lacking a lot as a "historical drama". Yes, the music and the cinematography were good, but usually historical dramas are way more "epic". It didn't feel authentic at all especially with their language, behaviour and body language. Also the plot wasn't written with many deatails, the hard lives of the common people were much more difficult, but in the drama it looked like they do nothing all day long. Except of D.O, the acting was average and it could be seen very clearly that the main actors had none chemistry. Overall, the drama -was- nice. I think that if you want to watch it you shouldn't come with expectation to have a big and wonderful adventure, but if you're a fan of D.O or just want to watch something different, then you can watch it. 6/10.
Does anyone know the name of that beautiful yellow place they filmed at?XD that "nothing but barley" place. I have a feeling thay I've also seen it in the last episode of Jewel in The Palace.
I know it's fansubs and I should appreciate it but the subs of this drama feels so pretentious. It felt like they…
Oh my god thank god that I'm not the only one who thinks that XD Maybe my English is not that good, but even in university articles I don't find this kind of language. Half of the drama I don't understand XD"
+ This drama was fun, but so frustrating in so many ways at the same time. Firstly, I didn't really like how the main couple ended. I mean, they.., only started dating but soon got married while no one has a real job and it felt like 2 kids rush things. Secondly, I think they had too much focus on the family..I understand that it's also a family drama but ,they started a topic-but didn't actually talk about it or got into a conclusion. For example, like the "fight" Kahoko and Izumi-mother had with the father. He ran away from home (and his reasons were right) but then he came back as nothing actually happend, they didn't talk about it and oh god they HAD to talk about. This "fight" had so many layers of untold things. + Papa was a great character but no development, mother was harsh. I understand the idea that Kahoko was overprotected. but even when she tried to get out of the shell and actually face things, she made it more difficult for her instead of supporting her. sometimes things like this do happen, but she reacted too much, she had a too strong personality and it felt so frustrating going over and over the same things again. + Also about Kahoko "saving the day" in each case, the happy ending was too much happy (you're grandma has just died and everyone continues as if nothing happend. Maybe it's a cultural thing but even so, it felt like everytihng was too happy and unrealistic).
+ The good point was, the character development of Kahoko (other characters didn't have much so I won't mention it) she did improve a lot from the beginning, she became completly independent. I also liked the comedy, I think that I enjoyed it more at the beginning, since from episode 4~ it became a too much family tragedy and had too many uncompleted parts). But overall, it was a nice -light drama to watch. 6/10
At first, I said that Shim Eun Kyung is ruing the drama and I almost dropped it because of her (which is weird since I did see her in other places and do know that she can act well), but after continuing watching, she did change and her caracter developed well. I think that the main characters were great and I really enjoyed the music part of the drama. I forgot how I missed classical music shows! <3 Actually, I started watching the anime now, and Naeil's character so far, is excatly portratied like in the drama (as well as CYJ) so we really can't blame her since that is the character. I read here and there that from one point the drama takes a different direction from the anime, so after finishing watching the anime, I will edit this message and write a full review :D
After watching Naeil Cantabile, I can say that Joo Won (who's my favourite actor) just HAS to play a role that is dominant. I mean, he can choose to be the vilian, or the good guy or even an autistic doctor, but he has to pick something that we can "feel" his presence and his good acting abillities. Since in roles like Yong Pal, or like Fashion King/Catch me, we do SEE him but we don't FEEL him...his role was not strong enough or wasn't written well to presnt him as he deserves. I think, that although Naeil wasn't a success, at the end it was a good drama and we did see his character development. So I really understand why he chose that role after all.
This film was one of the greatest that I've seen from Korea. Maybe even the best. People have already said it, but the acting, filmography and soundrtack were perfect. The only thing that bothered me, was that according to the historical information we have, Sa Do definitely had some psychologic problems, but in this movie it looked like his father not only in blame for everything, but was the cause for his problems. So I wonder if it was portraited accuretly ...
Overall, the movie was amazing. I also liked the fact that we could actually see things from inside and not like how dramas tend to make everything beautiful. Here, we got to see from closer the relationships in the palace, and understand that they were people just like how we are. Moon Geun Young was also wonderful as always, such a pity she had such a small role.
Aww, you should finish it!There are like 3 other couples at least that you could root for! I can assure you, as…
Thank you! You are right. Maybe I should take a break from it for a while and then come back again. The romance part didn't take a big part of the interest of mine in the previous seasons, but just that this time it felt a bit different.
