The actor who plays Pei Shou Yi already won Best New Artist in Chinese buggest film award 15 years ago for his role in Eternal Summer. He is one of the Asian LGBT film pioneer actors so it's no doubt his experienced acting and charisma have really big impact whenever he showed up in the show. Eternal Summer is my childhood film and he still looks so good right now.
This is gonna be in my top tier list of school BL when people ask me what they should watch first when it comes to school BL. Sotus, Crossing The Line & This one!!!! Ready to be one of the classics in BL.

Talking about original. I really had high hopes for Color Rush but the execution has been just okay so far for me. ABO concept is one of my favorites when reading BL novels and the mono stuff is kind of similar. But still, don't feel much chemistry between those two and I don't like their makeup!!! Also, I love Trapped for being original but if I dig into the plot, there are many plotholes as well. Thank God the 4 main leads have great chemistry throughout the drama so it's still one of my favorites. Lin Pei Yu just wrote the 8 eps script for Trapped but the MODC writer extended it so there are many plotholes and disappearing scenes.
Sometimes being original doesn't mean it deserves praise. The execution, the chemistry and the overall logic of the story are also very important. This show is not that original but if that overhyped cliche 2gether could be so popular, this beautiful drama with excellent acting skills should also be a sensation. But since it's not from Thailand, I'm prepared for this being underrated till the second season ends.
I seriously think this is extremely underrated…Not many BL fans around me are watching this or talking about this. They are still clinging to those Thai bl dramas which are not even good. Taiwan really needs to learn how to promote their shows. I can't even find the offical channel for this drama. Like WTF? Do the production company really wanna make money? It's not even hard to create a YouTube channel for god's sake.
Still surprised I will find my obsession after Cherry Magic. It's been such a nightmare for the past year and these kind of ligthearted BL dramas are my comfort products. If they make me smile with joy, I'm sold. Lin Pei Yu, why are you so talented!

Everyone? Don't think so. Most people on many forums or fan groups have no problems with it when they know Sun's already 18. The forced kiss was what they talked about the most many weeks ago. I agree with Polina. It's your personal taste and people have no place to judge a couple with a big age-gap. Even the power issue you mentioned was more obvious in Right or Wrong with the teacher-student pair. I don't see any power issue here.
