Though many Chinese fujoshies are crazy about shipping actors in real life and identify themselves as the fujoshi in the trailer, they still don't have any high expectation on this HIStory due to the trauma MODC brought to them. The new HIStory team really wanna turn over a new leaf for this franchise from the slogan they keep pushing this time by repeating "Comedy Romance" every single time they post a new article on their offical page. I still believe there will be some fans watching this and loving it if they don't mind the tropes. However, as BL fans are becoming way more serious and harsh on any representation in BL, the direction they choose doesn't bode well for them for sure. That is, you can find many questionable tropes in mangas and novels that people don't mind reading it but it's a totally different thing when you make them into live-action.

Trapped was heavily criticized by Taiwanese & Chinese fans when it was airing due to the dramatic story and plot holes and so was MODC, especially the ending. International fans love Trapped but those local fans are not that enthusiastic and the ending of MODC made the whole situation worse. My Taiwanese fans still don't understand why we international fans love HIStory3…Their best Taiwanese BL are still HIStory2 & the recent We Best Love. But they are now hating HIStory4 even more with the cliche story…I guess the new HIStory team is at a loss of what to do next so they come up with this kind of story.

It's more like a series with 12 eps but they cut it into 6 eps. The time gap is also a common thing in novels so it's not something to be worried about.

It's not gonna be everyone's taste this time. I think they really got scared by the feedback of HIStory3 so they just follow what Thai dramas used to do and decided to make it a comedy withouth some serious plot. I can sense that this will highly likely a cringey Thai BL copycat.

Even before season one came out, the news from the official already had told how the story would go in the end and it will have a happy ending for sure.

It looks like they really wanna make a comaback with these high-budget teasers that last HIStory seasons didn't have. Hope it surprises me like We Best Love.

Based on the news I read before released by the official, they clearly said they would be separted because of some misunderstanding for 5 years. So it's a misunderstanding for sure but not a scheme planned by ShiDe.

And I believe Lin wouldn't write this kind of story. She has been witty with the turn of the story to make people feel curious about what's gonna happen next. The strict fatherly figure is too obvious to develop a story. It's way too cliche and soap opera.

I think so too. Shu Yi's father pursued his mom all the way from Japan to Taiwan. Maybe it's a hint that his father is pretty adventurous and open minded towards love.

The build up is meh for me in this one. If they had made this a movie, I wouldn't feel like this. It's supposed to be a film length but the one week wait made me feel kind of careless after the 3 eps. If not for the love for BL, I would not have continue.
