Curious as well. I need a new series 😂

For me it was a enormous anti-climax. I had high hopes but this ep was all over the place. Felt more like a drunk ONS stand then the mains finally giving in to their feelings. Was the bed scene in the previews cut back or is this another scene? After all the push and pull they and up in bed together and then ML is off to save 2FL and FL is throwing a tantrum, yet again.
And all of an sudden after all those eps with zero chem Duan Jr en FL chef are being shipped together by writer? Why?

To me the only mature one this ep was Tan Jr. I’m so disappointed I’m not even looking forward to tomorrows ep(s).

What did you think and feel about today’s ep?

No, almost then she backed up.

For me justifying and understanding are different things. I didn’t say it was ok, I used the word gaslighting wich to me is a negative label. I said I understood. Because I know her backstory, because the whole show is about her. If we learned more about the backstory of ML maybe I would understand him to. But understanding doesn’t make it right!

At this point it’s the FL who is gaslighting ML. You’re totally right about that. But, maybe because it’s her story or maybe because she is the one with the backstory of 10 years devotion and being cheated on, I understand her. And ML really have some questionable actions!

I hear you! I hate love triangles but there not totally avoidable. So when I come across a drama with one I am:
- Really disliking 2ML/FL often because of scheming actions
- Developing a SLS because SL deserves happiness but firmly remain ML supporter. There are only a few drama’s where I thought: ok, maybe this could work to IF (and this the dealbreaker) the main lead wasn’t in love with the other ML (True Beauty for example).

In my opinion the 2ML in this drama is really decent. He helps FL, genuinely appreciates her and is very honest and open. 2ML is aware of feelings of ML but I don’t remember any scenes where he could have picked up that the feelings are mutual. Because he is a guest, ML is the manager and FL an employee there is only professionalism in scenes with the three of them. FL and 2ML developed a friendship beyond work because FL taking care of his father and their mutual love of art. FL is really comfortable around him but she has no feelings for him. She is to blame for not being open en honest too, not the 2ML for pursuing her. For me case of SLS.

2FL is a different story. She is an ex, wich a always find questionable because they often feel entitled in same way. She starts out decent but she picks up on ML interest in FL pretty quick. She then becomes scheming light: emphasis on bond with ML an talk with FL in private to get her to back off. Unfortunately that worked somehow because FL is really insecure being cheated on after 10 years of devotion. She is scarred and scared and 2FL actions doesn’t help so she mentally runs away.

ML in this drama isn’t bad and toxic. He is human, loses his cool over her but is hesitant to act on his feelings. In his defense at this point FL doesn’t let him either.

So in conclusion: Mr Tan isn’t end guy and you feel the feels between Mains. So for me the love triangle isn’t a reason you should skip this. Altough very, very slow burn and some major weird storylines I am really enjoying this! Let me know if this was helpful and of you wil watch or not.

In BCE she went against the mom eventually (on the surprise ceremony with the ex). But hated that father and brother weren’t really backing her up and she forgave her some time later. I dropped FyT but still remember the mother, also horrible!

I think I just find it a stretch that the good for nothing mother got a skill that’s so unique that you have to sacrifice your sanity for profit. Agreed that when she is capable of earning her own money she be less of a pain. Miyu should have set real harsh boundaries for her mother, she never does. Not when she pays the taxi, tries to eat the entire buffet, raises her salary, asking for more and more while interfering in Miyu’s life. I guess it’s rare for daughters to stand up for their mothers in Chinese drama (Best Choice Ever for example).

I’m a BIG romance person. Rarely starting a drama without. For me that I’m enjoying this with minimal romance is really rare. But I still do. I used to be the girl finishing it after starting. Then I went to dropping when hard to get into. And now I’m making the choice: Is it a waste of time to drop because I’m almost there or do I count my losses and be happy I enjoyed part of the show. But it’s time to move on. I think watching more and more shows made me more critical. Sadly…

I really, really, really like your thinking. Hit them where it hits hard: 💰💸Vixen having to take care of a child without the means for a Nanny, take out, great schooling or housing would be really satisfying (ignoring there is an innocent child involved). Ex having to live with his mother with no means and realizing he is infertile wich will definitely increases his chances on third time happiness is als satisfying. Can’t wait!

You have to have patience. The development of FL is not overnight but comes slowly and is realistic that way. She will stand up against her stepfather (who says he will no longer be her father). Her mother follows her father home. Later het sister comes for money. she doesn’t give her any and send her away. Later the mother calls to ask her for money (sister has child enrolled in expensive international school without having the means) and she refuses.
So far so good. For me she should have severed all ties but I get she hasn’t that kind of personality.
But then her mom has a hidden talent in pastry making. And Ji Feng asks Miyu to get her on board. Miyu agrees (wich I totally don’t understand) and mom is shipped in at a high salary and in a hotel room. Luckily no sign of the stepfather and stepsister yet. But the mother is irritating enough on her own.

Please don’t let the poor writing on this part discourage you. While I’m finding more arcs ridiculous as we go on the show is still worth your time. The main problem is that 38 eps is proving to be a little to much to maintain quality in writing (for me).

American all you can eat is als foreign to me. Although there here in Europe as well. My grandmother had lived to WWII on potatoes (treat), sugar beets and tulip bulbs. So wasting food or over eating was really a sin.

I had hopes for today 😭

If the dating era is done right it also helps me keeping engaged. I used to never drop midway let alone at the end. But if there is nothing to enjoy I can’t get myself to finish anymore.
