Packs a great punch, this drama, for more reasons than one. Oh, and you forgot to mention the splendid cinematography, and how the shots and screenplay convey messages without the need for dialogues. Great filters used to give the different moods or settings more depth.

The drama is not really a genre I would usually watch, but the artistry of everything from dialogues, concept, and visuals gets me tearing up every time. And yes, I am absolutely geeking over the sistership in this.

Thanks for sharing your perspective on this. My thoughts echo a lot of yours actually. I'm only a little less than halfway through, but thinking of dropping it or putting it on hold. I can't handle the poorly-written characters and the romance does not have a satisfying buildup. And although Yeo Jin Goo can act circles around many others, his portrayal of a robot is overly humanistic a little too organic to be believable as a robot-playing-human. I know what they're saying about the supreme technology behind the creation of Zero Nine, but I'd still want to be reminded that behind all that perfection lies a robot that is struggling to be loved as a human. YJG's portrayal and perfect script delivery would be okay if he were playing a real human character. At times he only came off a clingy, needy naive teenager begging his crush to take notice of him. For comparison's sake, I think Seo Kang Joon did a better job in Are You Human Too.

This dude needs some variety in his roles. Nonetheless still gonna watch this but give the poor dude something…
He was a scene-stealer in the fusion sageuk drama Faith, or otherwise known as The Great Doctor starring Lee Minho. He was an assassin of sorts, and sported long, pure white hair. Great visuals. Try watching that if you haven't

I wish they would have kept the same cast!
At the very least have Yang Se Jong back, if they can't get the Barley Couple in.

The thing about watching an OCN drama series is that they will always throw a tangled yarn at you right off the bat and proceeds to unravel inch by inch as the episodes progress. It was like that with Black. Took me 3 episodes before I caught up on things and after that, I settled in for a heck of a ride. Except for that dismal ending though. But the journey was great and I became so emotionally invested in the characters and their stories. What I'm saying is that with every OCN dramas, you need to give them the chance to pull you in. Dropping it in the first week might deprive you of a great story, so just stick around for a couple of episodes or more.

The cast is doing great so far. Not understanding the dissent on Seo Kang Joon. I think he IS supposed to be the prickly porcupine of the bunch, due to his backstory. But you DO see how differently he interacts with children and the elderly. There's a lot more to discover, I believe

Why is this drama still stuck at 8.0 rating when it at least deserves an 8.6, AT LEAST.
Well, looking at the top currently airing shows on MDL, you could see that they are mostly from the Romance genre. Unfortunately at takes a scroll down the page to find other genres trying to squeeze themselves into the top ranking list. Not blaming it on anyone's personal preferences, but I think more people are simply looking to entertain themselves with the lighter themes as an escape away from the pressures of the day. For me, I've always loved the kind of input that allows for more food for thought/thinking processes, which is why I love dramas with historical, political, tactical/strategy, sci-fi or investigative themes. But I certainly don't mind having a smattering of romance inserted into them, as they are great for emotional investment as well. That's why you can find Six Flying Dragons, Signal, Stranger, Chicago Typewriter, Black and Healer on the top of my ranked Watched list.

I'm not feeling Yeo Jin Gu's portrayal as a robot either. His eyes are too expressive, perhaps. And I feel that there aren't many moments that would remind us that Young Gu is in fact, a robot other than when he SAYS he is. Perhaps the writing could be better. And I still think that Seo Kang Joon was more believable as a robot-playing-human in Are You Human Too. The nuances in his facial expression would really have you believing how others would be fooled into thinking he's a human when in fact he really is a robot. Dang I don't know how to explain it, but there you go.

Title My Absolute Boyfriend Spoiler
I'm only at Episode 8 (or Episode 16) and I feel like I could be done with this show. Will it get any better?…
1) Will Young Gu continue to behave so clingy? He might not be aware of it, as a robot, but his behavior isn't exactly endearing himself to DaDa. At least, if I were DaDa.
2) Will DaDa ever develop any feelings for Young Gu? It doesn't really look like it at the moment and all I see is this exasperation and bewilderment that the so-called robot would behave this way.
3) There are times I feel as though Dada and MWJ actually deserve each other and that Young Gu is just wasted on Dada. Will there ever be a time when Young Gu will leave Dada in a love dilemma?
4) Why do I get the feeling that MWJ is taking over as the Male Lead here? I can't get into his acting at all. He needs to flex his facial muscles some more.
5) Will Young Gu exhibit any more of his unique abilities as a robot? At the moment I feel he is nothing more than a talking walking male love doll, and it's quite freaky.

Please let me know if it's worth plowing on watching this show. Thanks!

Can anyone please tell me when he finds out she’s not Veronica? I’m on episode 4 and totally annoyed by this…
Still a while to go, chingu. A lot of "almost caught" incidents along the way though. It does get old after a while. But if you have enough patience for it, stay on for a bit more for the chemistry of the main pairing as well as the dynamics between the second leads. There is a smattering of office politics and intrigue that sort of buoys the show along too.

And as you probably know, "good" is pretty relative and subjective, hey? So maybe it's best you have a few more watches and decide on your own. best of luck, chingu!

I couldn't agree more. He is one of my all time favorite characters. Also would you mind putting a spoiler tag…
Don't remind me! It was like a disjointed slapstick comedy out of nowhere. Even the "feel" of that episode was entirely wrong and wholly disconnected from the earlier episodes. And I hated that afterworld judgment scene too. It was just so unfair and petty. I still can't get over how the entire plot buildup went out of the window right at the ending. Game of Thrones did exactly that too. Gah.

Sorry for the rant.

And I forgot to mention SSH as 444 was phenomenal too. Like you said, he literally carried the whole series on his back. What a talent. I was so emotionally invested in the drama despite its flaws precisely because of SSh's charisma and acting chops. It's too bad the writers gave his character such a poopy ending.

"Six Flying Dragons" is the ultimate Historical Drama that has become the standards by which I measure every other drama of the same genre. Yi Bangwon is the King of all anti-heroes, the ultimate embodiment of light vs darkness, good vs evil. My heart broke watching his inevitable slide into darkness but I still rooted for him throughout. hHe was such a tragic character. Yoo Ah In taking on Yi Bangwon was the best decision he's ever made and he acted his soul out. In SFD, Yoo Ah In WAS Yi Bangwon, and for that he forever has my gratitude.

I can see why people criticize and do not enjoy this drama and I respect their opinion. I was the same too at…
Well it did take me 3 whole episodes before I settled into SFD, but it ended up as one of the best TV-watching experiences of my life. I guess many things of scale as epic as it would require us to acclimatize to the names, characters, and places as they establish the plot.

The series is not perfect, but I'm loving it so much... I can't wait for the next episodes
Sometimes technical perfection comes second, after emotional investment. Which was why the Game of Thrones screwed up so bad in the end.

Actually I've been quite suspicious of the new Art Director too. He seems to always be in the "right" place at the "right" time. First, the accident site. Second, the falling chandelier. And who's the person he's been calling on the phone to get updates? The greedy family is just too obvious to actually be the culprit behind these accidents, aren't they? They're probably thrown in as the red herring for subversion purposes. But then I could be totally wrong. Like i've been with Game of Thrones, gah!
