I wonder why you didn't post a review on second season..
From what I remember from season 1, Empress Dowager of Qing or someone other mentioned that she is not mother of Emperor Qing and Princess Royal is her daughter so they might be step-siblings... I am not sure by the way...
I hereby want to ask you all to clear my doubt about something... I still don't get the concept of the parallel world from where Fan Xian and his mother came... Please somebody help me by explaining it in a simple way...

I was thinking exactly the same... As far I could understand this it might be that the emperor knew about this already.. but he doesn't want to put the blame on Li YunRui as not to execute her because she is royal family member after all... But he can put blame on Fan Xian if he won't be able to counter the loss in the name of testing his competency to managing the business... In my opinion, emperor is the real mastermind here and playing behind the scenes... I don't think he regards Fan Xian as his own son.. he is using him in every best possible way to get his way right and also to get rid of those who can be a threat to his throne... It won't be surprising if the final battle of power struggle will be between the emperor and Fan Xian...
do i need to watch season 1 in order to watch season 2?
I recently watched the season 1 and I do think it's necessary to watch season 1 first in order to start this season... In my opinion the first season was amazing and more focused on action part and it's towards the end that the extreme schemes were started to show up... This season 2 starts with conspiracies following from season 1 and less action scenes.. so this might be the reason for some people for not liking this season... But for me this one is also going great honestly... And I'm loving this season as much as the first one...

Exactly! They gave second chance to Meng Yao but didn't give any to Wei Ying... If not for NHS, he would have walked out safely from there... And thanks to HuaiSang for bringing Wei Ying back to life, otherwise he could never get the chance to prove his innocence... I think those all people still didn't quite believe Wei Ying or feel sorry for him for being wronged.. they just accepted him because no one would be able to tackle Meng Yao other than Wei Ying...
