Who is the father of Ye Shi Jie? Is it mentioned in the drama anywhere? I may have missed it. I'm so confused…
Thank you for your explanation!
Didn't Chinese Government ban this first cousin fall in love troupe already, how come this drama passed the censorship with this plot?
From what I have seen in LYF and JOL they had to change the relationship by making one of siblings adopted so that their children can't be considered as blood related.
However this exactly plot of first cousins' marriage I have seen in SOKP where the emperor married his first cousin. And also in TLP where the ML was engaged with his first cousin but he didn't marry her.

I wish someone would throw a vase at the princess's head every time she starts dancing or spinning like an idiot…
Uhmm.. Ngl when I started this drama I thought she is gonna be a scheming and exciting villian who plots and is very far-sighted, ambitious to achieve her goal and ultimately involve herself in power struggle. But it turns out she is just an obsessed lady who is quite spoiled and only know to take advantage of her power of position.
SYR: I lover herAlso him: Hits her with a shovel n buries her alive with his flute. NICE 🙂👍
What a true love ! I still wonder why people are rooting for him or feeling sorry for him. It's not that he had no choice but he chose this way.
In the latest episode it's shown that his motivation to become official was to eradicate corrupt and evil officials and prevail justice for commoners. But in this course he chose to allay with them and murder his innocent wife who gave her all to him.
I don't have problem with him colliding with them but should not have murdered his loving wife at least. He is certainly a RED FLAG
Xue FangFei calling Shen Yurong a mean and pathetic man. That must have cut deep for him.I feel bad for Shen Yurong…
Yeah, I believe in what I'm saying. I may have missed the part that the man was beaten to death.
I understand that he didn't do that to protect his mother and sister but he truly failed his wife, didn't he?
He had an affair with Princess before his wife died, can you deny that? And if princess wanted to kill his wife, then must he kill her and betray her? He clearly didn't have a clear conscience, no matter how you defend him.
I am just trying to say that he doesn't deserve sympathy from his wife, no matter how much remorseful he is now.
If you still think he is innocent or worthy of sympathy, then it's your perspective. You hold yours and I'll have mine, I'm not gonna change it. That's all from my side.. I'm not going to engage further in this conversation.
