Let me explain it according to my understanding.
So Hou Chi is Shang Gu, this is undeniable. When she reborn, she gets a whole new identity and whole new life experience which is quite different from Shang Gu. Her persona is also different from Shang Gu. Shang Gu is playful and Hou Chi is calm. She lived 60000 years of her life as Hou Chi and doesn't know who exactly Shang Gu is. She is completely unfamiliar with Shang Gu. So when she get to know that there is another personality is living inside her which is unfamiliar to her and she just serves as a shell, her whole world is like scattering. This is obvious when you get to know that your life is not yours but you are living because of someone else's wish, your existence is not true, how can you not feel sad about it. She always thought that Gu Jun loved her because she is his daughter and now it's not like that, it's like that he is only repaying his gratitude towards Shang Gu. Same goes with Qing Mu's love for her. She is wondering if he loved this personality of hers or the one in his dreams.
